This sounds familiar...

“South Wales Police have opened an investigation into former Wales international David Cotterill after he was accused by former team-mates of cheating them out of a combined total of almost £400,000”

Interesting phrase "Cheating them" - extra ace of hearts up his sleeve?

I'm amazed how these professional players fall for these get rich quick schemes their team mates lure them into.  If the returns seem too good to be true that's because they are!  And where are all their agents and advisers when they need them?  Can only be driven by greed or desperation.

This has been rumbling on for years and allegedly involves youth players as well at previous clubs

Yeah account on twitter "Craig Branson" constantly posting about it and having digs at DC. Obviously upset someone and maybe a few others.

Shame. He was utter quality as a youth player.

I do wonder whether he has a genuine mental illness and should be taken off social media to protect him

No doubt he has had / probably still has issues, but he is very quick to use it as a defence for some of the bad things he has been accused of. I know of someone who worked for him at the DC Foundation, and they were promised a quick return on investment like some of the younger players he is accused of taking wages from. That requires a calculated mind and dismissing it due to his own mental health problems shows a total disregard for the people effected. Add to that the misinformation he seems very keen to put out there -  The bloke is a piece of work.

Sadly known people like this in the past, and certainly sounds like you have hit the nail on the head here, people like them are much smarter than they let on and fall back on MH issues as an excuse

Cotterill should really just keep quiet.  He doesn't know the personal circumstances and a poor chap has had to end his career and looks like may have health complications for the rest of his life due to hereditary reasons.

It may worth mentioning though, that Florida's Surgeon General (the highest ranked medical professional in the state of 22 million people) has recently recommended the covid vaccine is not taken by fit and healthy males under the age of 40, due to medical studies showing the vaccine can cause (in very small numbers) risks to the heart.

This follows Denmark and Norway advising those that are fit and healthy under the age of 50 should not to take the booster.  So it does seem things are changing, as it was not long ago people were getting sacked in the UK for not taking the vaccine and children in the US could not participate in school sport if they were not vaccinated

These things tend not to get mentioned on the BBC, so unfortunately wally's like Cotterill fill the void.

I think the clue it's nothing to do with the vaccine is the phrase "hereditary heart condition"....

The cause is irrelevant, even if it had been directly and provably caused by a Covid vaccination David Cotterill should not be trying to score points on a thread for comiserating with a player because of the early end of his career.

I would Dynotape the following to the top of so many people's PCs, Tablets or Phones: If you cannot say something nice then don't say anything.

Though that would probably be the end of the road for Twitter.

But we do have the Daily Mail ? See below!

The virus is far more likely to cause heart problems than the jab. So all the credible research shows. Boosters are being examined more as the epidemic subsides, largely due to the fact people got vaccinated!

For informational purposes, Using Florida as anything other than illustration of where the nut jobs live is never a good idea! And yes I live in the USA.

Article

The vaccine-skeptic official cited a Florida Department of Health analysis to back up his claims — but independent scientists say it contains major statistical flaws.

In a tweet that was censored by Twitter over the weekend before being reposted, Dr Ladapo said Florida would 'not be silent on the truth'.

He now becomes the most high-profile US doctor to break ranks from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), who says the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are safe for the vast majority of healthy children and adults.

The CDC recognizes the vaccines in rare cases can cause myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, but believes the benefit of protecting against Covid outweighs the risk.

Several studies have indicated the virus is more likely to cause heart problems than vaccines, which makes the argument even more nuanced.

But in recent months, as Covid death rates have trended downwards, several countries have changed their stance.

Denmark and Norway have already banned Covid vaccines for non-seniors, while next month Sweden says it will stop recommending them for 12 to 17-year-olds.

Covid jabs are credited with saving more than 300,000 lives in 2021, according to official analysis.

But the CDC's rollout of bivalent booster vaccines this winter has been sluggish with just five per cent — or 11million people — of over-12s coming forward despite the Government spending $5billion on the jabs.

Is this because the current variants of the virus aren’t as dangerous as previous strains?

Would love for you to clarify this in detail but I think I may be a little sick

Surely it is as simple as:

Enock Mwepu needs support.  The guy is unwell and needs support

David Cotterill needs help, and has done for a long time. Cotterill is in need of help, and has clearly needed help for a long time

I'd have thought it's because nobody wants people to have more treatment/injections than necessary. There's plenty of evidence that being jabbed reduces the risk of hospitalisation and severe side effects but there's a lot less evidence that people who are not in a clinically at risk group benefit from having the additional boosters - especially if they've had two jabs and a booster already.

It's a bit of a misnomer that it is some sort of change of policy or that it is in any way surprising that the BBC aren't reporting on the vaccine policy in other countries. In the UK, it is only people over 50 and with additional risk levels that have been advised to take a booster this Autumn and both the BBC and the NHS have publicised that so any attempts to see a conspiracy are looking for shapes in the clouds.

I have an underlying condition and had my Autumn booster a few weeks back and a flu jab last week. But that doesn't mean everyone necessarily needs it.

For a long time I think even before Covid. There were some allegations of fraud against him a while back but it seemed to come to nothing. Not surprised to see those posts from him.

Edit: Ah the fraud allegations are what the original thread was about.
