Bottom of the table fodder eh!

Should be an easy 3 points..

For Wycombe ?

Ahem. Maybe should've had a bet.

Glad I've stopped watching games. Radio coverage is painful enough.

So glad I've freed myself from following this shower on most occasions.

How poo are we? Shocking.

What do you do then Tone?

You get a new man in, who then wants to assess the squad himself.

Way I see it. Fail to give Pearson the job. Book us a slot for relegation next season. We are craving stability and a major rebuild. We have built an average league one squad over the past 3 years.

On current results if we give NP the job then relegation is a banker next season. Get a new man in.

This is unfortunately where we are at low championship club at best. The club is in a right mess lovely ground, lovely training facilities, (****) team. We are still not safe is Pearson the answer jury is out but God these players are gutless and unprofessional not all I might add but there is so much deadwood who would want them.

That was so bad it was genuinely amusing. Their keeper looked more likely to score in the last minute than Fam or Wells all night!

I’m not even annoyed any more, the standard is so poor the enjoyment factor of watching city has totally vanished.

Exactly. It’s becoming a pain following the club. We get the odd result here and there but performances are consistently dreadful. That’s me done for the season tbh.

Surely Pearson won’t want to be associated with us. What a shambles. Gutless and spineless the lot of them with very few exceptions. Schoolboy error by Palmer, beaten by a team who wanted it more.

Pearson is associated with us whether he likes it or not. Perhaps he'll want to stay to prove that he can get it right. Otherwise, he leaves here having failed here, failed at Derby and been sacked by Watford in between.

I've previously defended NP as he inherited such shite.

But that says enough for me.

Don’t disagree.

As I said at the weekend it’s sad if he isn’t the answer.

But this is a mess of Ashton and Lansdown’s making. Never forget that. It’s been failing for years.

Theyve created this shite on the pitch and now Steve had to solve it.

Im just lost for words right now.

Feel your pain, I’ve never disliked a set of players more right now. Unacceptable, but these pricks don’t give a shit, they’re on a good screw and they’ve got parking places with their names on at the high performance centre.

Appalingly bad. We cannot keep the bloody ball. Our kick off and second touch we put the ball out for a Wycombe throw. And then just a succession of mistakes, poor passing, no real effort. We just did not want the game whereas Wycombe might be going down but they tried very hard all the game.

Will it be any better even if Pearson stays? I wonder.

If we were playing the youngsters or seniors that will be here next season that would be fair enough, but we are not. Fammy, Lansbury, Rowe all dead wood.

Lansbury’s played most games under Pearson, probably no reason to think he won’t be here next season. LB is pretty much Rowe, Towler or sessegnon with Hunt RB so senior player picked isn’t a shock. Famara ?‍♂️I said back when the window was closed I was afraid he’d become undroppable due to the ‘well get the value from him on the pitch’ line, seems it came true

Again, make sure you direct this mainly at Ashton and Lansdown.

Its their mess, which yes, Pearson couldn’t save.

Some might say that its us that doesn't want to be associated with Pearson and with performances under him being so shite, I would have to agree.

He inherited a weak and soft squad, but there's been no improvement.

He was my choice after LJ was sacked and there are extenuating circumstances, but it really isn't what was expected. I don't think SL will be minded to offer a contract to him and may even cut it short - why not ? who could do worse ? Simpson and downing ? I think not.

I’m sorry, but this whole project has been failing since January 2018.

How is Steve Lansdown not complicit?

So where would we be without his money? Don't see a queue waiting to give away 10 million every year to cover losses.

Or perhaps we could get a nice fake sheik instead and have a lovely ground and stunning squad like the gas

Understand being undecided on NP. But to follow it up with wanting robins when we need a real leader is a terrible shout imo . Forget results , look at how we’re losing . We are ******* leaderless from Lansdown to the players . We massively need a Pearson type manager. I said today I though we’d lose 2-1 and get bullied but not just last 30 minutes . I ******* hate these players

Agree.

Even a few months ago SL was lauding the quality in the squad.

I was confused which squad he was talking about.

You say that but it wouldn't surprise me if NP wanted to keep both Lansbury and Rowe. This is what really worries me most.

I think the players are very lucky there are no fans at the ground. We have gone though bad times but this is amongst the worse teams in a while. It would test the most rose tinted fans

What on earth are you talking about?

Of course he and Ashton have overseen this. They’re in ******* charge.

This is Steve Lansdown’s mess.

You are absolutely spot on. He has allowed the quality in our squad to be cleared out each season and allowed Johnson/Holden to replace it these wasters. I hope he is big enough to admit this and appoint Pearson  with the financial support and a remit to do what is needed to sort us out. Or surely relegation  will follow next season. Get off the pot Lansdown and get Pearson appointed.

Now agreeing with other posters. Is NP the man? Mmm. Cannot think of any other possible candidates but he's not covering himself in glory. He can't get them to play for him now it appears. I appreciate there is dead wood in the squad but I'll not be renewing until I see the path forward. Think I'll see what the European Super league is like. Oh, wait a minute...

I see, but if we are to not give Pearson a deal & at least let him try and build his own squad with a transfer window, who would you like to see appointed? We are working with an extremely short time frame with many player out or contract

NP ain't getting this job.

I’d stick with him as he’s had time to assess the players and realise where the dead wood is. He know what needs to be done in the summer

Yep I tend to agree with you- yeah he has inherited a squad of misfits who were completely shot of confidence but you would of at least hoped to see some fight, and an insight into the type of football that Pearson wants to play by now.

Nothing has changed and that’s concerning.

Robins is not a bad shout at all.

I'm not directing it at anyone. I'm just pointing out how it looks externally if Pearson leaves at the end of the season with his record as it stands.

Yep, a blot on his copy book.

To play devils advocate, if you were another club and you appointed Pearson in the summer, how much of a lass would you give him because ‘Bristol City are ******* state’?

I don't think there was a lot wrong with the formation, selection or game plan tonight. The execution however was lacking a fair bit in the first 50-60 mins then practically non-existant for the last 30.

Should never of lost that game. Pathetic from Palmer, really was.

NP needs to stay and at half time, I thought the announcement might come this week, as we would be mathematically safe. With so many players out of contract, it is important to have some stability in leadership. Gutted for the guys, especially after the quality of that goal...

You just know how this will pan out. Lansdown will get windy on Pearson now and will take two months to make his mind up on the next Manager. We will be a relegation banker next season.

Reality is, even if we need a clearout, the players showed against Birmingham, Middlesboro, Swansea and even Bournemouth that they can play a lot better than they are currently playing. The fact we need to have a clear out and get better players in doesn't change the fact we're not getting the best out of the players we have, however limited that "best" might actually be.

Not Nigel's team granted, but he’s been here long enough now to have had some positive affect on results.

Sadly that’s not the case and there has been absolutely no improvement from the Holden days.

This has been 3 seasons in the making.....no manager was going to change this w4nkstain of a team in just over 3 months, people need to get real, this slide has been happening for many years under Ashton & Lansdowns watch.....& they allowed this rot to fester and form.

I honestly do not know who is available but at this point in time NP just has not produced the goods.  I was excited when we took him on but am now thinking he is no more motivated than any of our under achieving players. He is seeing us as a well paid 6 month fill in job I think.

Maybe SL will surprise us all and be brave enough not to give it to NP.... and will be proven right for once.

Or maybe he will be brave enough to fly in the face of opinion and see beyond the results of an absolute shambles of players that Pearson has been lumbered with.

I still hope so.

In fairness, most managers fail at Derby and Watford has a revolving door
