Any graphic designers?

After a bit of help if any City fans have the skill and time...

I live in Plymouth and have just set up my first Sunday league team. We have sponsorship from a local pub down here, Stoke Bar & Grill. Hence our names is going to be Stoke Bar & Grill FC!

Basically we need a badge but the efforts in our group chat are woeful to say the least haha. I didn’t know if we had any budding graphic designers with time to spare - I know some people enjoy that sort of thing. I’m completely out of my depth with anything like that I must admit.

The colour scheme would be red, black and white. I suppose the badge could pay reference to it being a pub with a pint, barrel or something. But generally it doesn’t need to be anything special, something useable after seeing the efforts from our group would suffice ?

Bit of a random one and expecting this post to sink to the bottom of the page pretty quick. But worth a go, cheers all!

Could try Fiverr as above. You can usually get the product in a couple of hours but if your budget is low results can be hit and miss.

I’d argue that’s the best bet, chip in £1/£2 each

I might be wrong but i think the poster @Spike has posted some home made kit designs and badges before. Might be able to help.

Good luck for the season!

I have designed badges for a Welsh league and multiple teams, I'm currently doing the graphics work for the business I work for but I'm always willing to help when I have time so if @ollywhytewants to ping me a message I can always have a pop at helping.

You do know it’s forbidden on OTIB to admit to supporting another team ???

Hi

A couple years ago I asked for some help with putting together a badge for a new football team I was running. Stoke Bar & Grill FC in Plymouth. This thread shows some absolute crackers that some very talented posters put together!

For the past two seasons we have used @Spike design and we just won our first league title winning 17 and drawing 1 of our last 18 games to secure the league title after losing our first 3 games in a 21 game season! The lads are really appreciative of this design and I'm a bit embarrassed to see there was no further communication from myself after the badges were created, in the future I think I'd like to keep everyone posted on how we are doing (if at all interested!)

That said, unfortunately we are being uprooted with the pub sadly about to close. However it now looks likely we will be moving under new sponsorship from another pub on the outskirts of Plymouth - The Odd Wheel in Wembury.

Another massive ask if any budding graphic designers are able to help... (I'm absolutely useless and design I've attempted are so amateur looking)

The remit:

Odd Wheel FC

Prime colours - red, black and white (but open to anything really)

The pubs branding is this - if anyone has any time to help it would be brilliant.

Just a thought, but why not create a football team that is not named after a pub?

Nothing wrong with having a pub as a sponsor, but with the rate at which they’re closing it might save you a lot of effort further down the line and prevent you from having to reinvent the wheel!

No graphic design skills but you could take the red and white striped semicircle from Spike's design and complete the circle with half of the wheel from the new sponsor pub's sign perhaps

Great shout tbf. That with ODD WHEEL FOOTBALL CLUB would be brilliant and keep some consistency too

Open to any designs!

The Fewers were sponsored by The Sportsman for a season.

Whilst not entirely relevant to this thread, just wanted to remind everyone.

Here you go. The red circle "O" with two red stylised "D's" in side to spell ODD.

Flipped one of the D's to make a C and added the F.

Altogether, it looks like an odd wheel.

That's clever, I like this. But obviously my opinion doesn't count, but yes I can see what you have done, it's good. Clean and simple

You could say that a square wheel would certainly fit the description of an odd one, so taking inspiration from Jon's effort for our third kit, I found this on the first page of google images for you.

@Swine and @SydneyCity really appreciate the efforts they are fantastic and would 100% be delighted to have used either of them!

In the past 24 hours the club has completely changed however ? we’ve managed to secure sponsorship from a local accountancy firm which is now allowing us to retain part of our original name with no pub ties. Which was always the preference now we have a bit of presence and backing in the Sunday football scene.

We are now going to go into the season as AFC Stoke. However this requires a new badge… again…

If anyone at all is able to help out together a badge looking at this sort of criteria

- AFC Stoke

- Red, black and white

- Preference for a circle badge

- If possible the inclusion or reference of a gorilla would be brilliant. We’ve picked up the name ‘Grillers’ over the years and affectionately now known as ‘The Gorillas’ so a little touch to our roots would be a nice touch.

A quick search on Google for gorilla badges and loads seem to come up, something that looks a bit fearsome I suppose!

Honestly though, I’m absolutely useless and appreciate anyones efforts to help with this one. ?

Thanks @soultrader some great efforts there, I'll compile all the best and let the lads vote at some point !

Anyone else able to work their magic? ? Think the circular badges look quite good, also like the touch of having The Grillers on their somewhere.

Happy to donate to a chosen charity as thanks for anyone able to help :)

Seconds out, round 2…

You've got the word Stoke with the O styled to look like Blockhouse park fort.

Year of foundation and in the football pattern, middle top you have the silhouette of your spiritual home - Stoke Bar and Grill - represented by that funny configuration of windows that was there underneath the triangular eave.

To be honest, I've never been to Plymouth, so this is all based off Google.

I've just seen this and forgot I even did that ?

So you have a deadline? I'm working on some things at the moment but if you're not in a rush I could have a go? That said you've got some great options already ??

Firstly thank you to everyone that has taken the time to produce a badge for us to consider, they’re all brilliant. @soultrader I hope you managed to get some work done in amongst your efforts ?

The badges above all captured the club brilliantly, I particularly liked the circular shape as it allow consistency from our current badge. The red and black stripes look really imposing so that was something we wanted to see

Taking the shell of @Swine design I asked him to add some red and black stripes and integrate a Gorilla with red eyes inspired by @soultraderdesigns.

The final product we have combines all of my favourite elements of the designs above and completely captures what we all wanted. So massive thank to @Swinefor pulling the final one together.

For reference the badge we will be using is now on our updated Facebook and Twitter pages. (It won’t let me upload here for some reason!) if anyone can post below then please do.

Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/SBGFC2021

Twitter - @AFCS_Grillers

If anyone is interested please give our pages a follow, we regularly update on games and it would be good to gain some new followers on those platforms!

Thanks again everyone ?
