Are those official club scarves? They look like the tat sold outside wembley, the second one could be wheeled out anytime a team in blue turn up.

Don't know if the scarves are official but they all seem to be weighted at one end making them impossible to hold straight. Go back through the pictures and see what I mean.

Have a look at the scarves in the City shop next time! My gf wanted one at the Walsall game. The best was the identical one to that in red and white; and the worst a plain brown one with a small brown leather BCFC crest at one end.

I couldn't quite believe it, my 20 yo scarf had multi-colours and a nice crest, she had to buy one online from some bloke in Canada of all places (the scarf guy) and it was cheaper.

I've checked the schedule and I'm not seeing it listed.

Apparently tomorrow, Rinder is making a judgement for some bloke who got a Doris a kebab after a night in the pub and didn't even get cloth-tits, let alone inside tops.

He is expecting his fiver back.

He should have bought a voucher.

Your use of the word Doris has just made me realise who you are!

Sources tell me that Chesterfield manager Dean Saunders is in talks with Rovers centre back Tom Parkes.

Nicholas is so frustrated that bigger clubs are tapping his talent that he is consulting his legal team again.

(to see if any of them can play)

What did they expect? Pirates steal your money and run off with it. It's in the job description.

I'm surprised that certain sporting clubs think that a pirate is an appropriate image for them.

Why..? It's a no win situation for us.

We have nothing to prove.

Its not about proving anything , its about the passion and excitement that no other game can generate .

Absolutely nothing to do with it being a no win situation or having to prove something, it would be a good start to the season, full house instead of 2k or 3k.

And I'd be more than confident of racking up a few goals against that lot.

Another Barnsley or Bradford type performance/result would be very nice.

Walsall performance would suit me.

Just been reading the Gas forum, a lot of talk of 10 million quid in compensation from Sainsbury's.

Is that a contracted amount of compensation, a likely amount or just wishful thinking?

They seem to have a few people in the know regarding the court case. For example, one poster provided useful inside info on the judge;

"It's difficult for her. Sources I cannot reveal have told me that she has recently had a telephone call offering her free shopping for life and a seat in the House of Lords. On the other hand, last week she received a postcard offering 50p off the cost of a pasty when she purchases a cup of tea at an unnamed football stadium."

A desperate last throw of the dice? That could bankrupt them.

Say for one moment that is happening and that is a true figure. I think money like that will be their downfall. Yes they can pay their legal bills but if there is anything much left after paying other bills/loans etc it won't be enough to move. So they are stuck at the Mem. People will be calling for redevelopment. Their facilities are appalling, a couple of million will be easily swallowed up with nothing to show for in an ageing stadium like that, it was about to be bulldozed don't forget.

Will other clubs now be raising their prices for players if the Gas get some money, course they will. What about their current players and staff, I guess they were all on a bonus for getting promotion they might be looking for a bit more too, maybe not in their pay packet as they will be contracted but maybe better hotels away, training facilities etc.

They have always had money through transfers in the past, but always frittered it away, more so than us. I think the same will happen and the fans will get restless. It's one thing being down on our luck in the Conference but another being monied in League Two.

That is what we legal experts call wishful thinking.

It's not just their nick name that fits:

http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/rover

"A person who spends their time wandering: " from Bristol to Bath, back to a different part of Bristol, to South Glos?....

"they became rovers who departed further and further from civilization" 'nuff said, oxford dictionaries have obviously seen their players!

and

Word Origin

C14: probably from Middle Dutch or Middle Low German, from roven to rob (of a sports ground, either from local rivals as soon as they experience financial difficulties, or from a local rugby club).

You're all forgetting the money from 'Lambo' or 'Sir Rickie'...or whatever the **** it is they call him?

I'm sure that'll cover any shortfall....

Didn't even cover last season's losses, hence the payday loan. Real shame for them if payday doesn't come around and the loan sharks start circling.

If the figure was 10m, Surely they would have to invest in a new stand, one that could make revenue through out the year, and help pay back there loans. But as others have said, I'm sure the rovers board of directors will have other plans for that money, and probably will not be in the best of the football club, or its fans.

I think I've heard of him, he's the player Southampton signed and then announced he was far from being fit enough.

The guy from 'the beetroot factory' according to the interview after his England debut (never heard the Gas called that before).

Anyway, I thought they were getting 10 million in sell on fees or summat?

If the decision goes against sainburys, wont Rovers then have to take them to court for compensation.

Sainsburys have brought this case against Rovers and are not the defendant and thereore surely the judge shouldnt award any compensation against them at this time. Or am I wrong?

I'd imagine if they lose then they'll lose on a point of law meaning the contract isn't enforceable so no compensation would be payable.

This view is shared by my friend Lord Denning who of course has previous work experience at Sainsburys in-store bakery where he was master of the rolls.

Judge Jeffreys is unable to comment because of his association with the bloody roni assizes

Wishful thinking at best.  They've plucked that figure out their asses in both hope and desperation.  Someone should tell them that it's Sainsburys that have taken them to court and not the other way round.

I gotta say it, "it's upside down", hahahahahahahaha. Should have the wider bit on top, when he or she (it's likely) wears a sock, it'll say Ashead.

Is it just me, or does everyone read that as 'Gash eads'?

I know, they've not a ounce of originality between them and steal nicknames (as well as songs, grounds etc) from all their rivals .......but I thought promoting themselves as 'The Gash' might be a step too far. Strange lot.

If that was the figure, how much will be swallowed up by Wonga and repaying directors' loans?

I doubt there would be enough left over to cover one season's losses, let alone buy a new set of plastic garden chairs from B&Q...

It wouldn't be enough to service their debt

They were 11 million in debt before the wonga loan

Any sign of a conclusion to the court case this week? It must be close to the point that UWE will pull the plug anyway if they don't get a clear response from Piggsy.

The first sign will overwhelmingly likely be its listing. If we hear of anything sooner then there's a danger someone, somewhere may have committed a contempt of court.

It's not on tomorrow's provisional list.

I'm not sure if the link has been posted by anybody before or not but if anyone wants to check listings you can go to https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/court-lists/list-chancery-judges. The final list for the next day usually appears just after 4:30

From memory I read somewhere that the deadline for Rovers / UWE ends at the end of June, in two weeks.  I guess if that's correct then higgs will be praying for it to time-out because that would let him off the hook of having to deliver a stadium: he can blame sainsburys.

I'm still very suspicious of the June date. It just sounds a bit too fishy. Why June, why tolerate until June, why tolerate litigation but not wait for the answer, what if 15ers get a decision but leave to appeal is granted, what if the order is for compensation which is insigificantly short of build costs (would they allow attempts to secure funding?) etc.

If there is a deadline of June to bring everything to a close and be ready with the first JCB on 1 July, as 15ers suggest, then you have to wonder why. I can only really think of either UWE just want to draw a line in the sand and so an arbitrary date has been agreed or there is some financial issue (increased costs, who's covering, stage payment) and they can't agree who is funding this.

If June is what the 15ers suggest it is it's hard to think how this could possibly be resolved on time. For instance, imagine you have responsibility for this for Sainsbury's and tomorrow the decision lands on your desk (15ers win) and your secretary tells you Higgs is on the phone. Of course you pick up the phone 'Hi Nick, I need to get feedback from the lawyers as to what this decision means and to consider our position. Obviously I want a conference with our barrister, partner solicitor and in house legal team. We want to use the same barrister as he has all the background and knowledge - its unreasonable for us to brief another. Unfortunately everyone is very busy at the moment with other matters and our barrister is working on another case that's been in his diary for a year. But good news is we've scheduled our con for the earliest possible date on 2 July. I'll call you on 3rd and update, ta ta for now'.
