Bristol Rovers were plan B to Gillingham. Now it appears that another plan B is in the offing in regards to the stadium. Looks like a plan B club.

Isn't plan B just another way of saying 'second best'?

They'll be franchising the club next and moving them to Milton Keynes.

Where they will still be the little club in a two team town !  :clap:

They just said on PW that despite the court ruling the UWE will still go ahead. How do they know? Someone from the club told them. Well, that`s OK then.

On ITV west they are now calling him a rich business man,not a mention of him being a billionaire, has the penny finally dropped.

Listening to Watola on Radio Gas, he "believes" the project will go ahead but throw in the issue of car parking as being a "major concern" as a future excuse the Wally family can cling onto.

Right enough, those trailer caravans can take up a lot of space.

Judgment here for anyone interested http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWCA/Civ/2016/160.html

"There followed a period during which Sainsbury's and Bristol disputed whether Condition 11 was a Store Onerous Condition, such as to allow Sainsbury's to assert that the permission was not an Acceptable Store Planning Permission. The argument was made possible because of the ambiguity to which I have referred in the drafting of the definition of Store Onerous Condition."

Watertight.

Not a word you want to be associated with a legal case. Particularly if your looking for the courts to side in your favour.

Tight as an otters pocket my arse.

That made me chuckle, thanks for sharing. The "world class" description of UWE had me chuckling, along with the "our time is coming" line that's been trotted out yearly for the last 16 years.

Amazing scenes.

Just reading the Bristol Post website re the rovers devastating loss today, and usually the adverts on there make me mad but the advert under the following picture I thought was class. Savings to blow you away (on legal costs),  perhaps they could get a ground from EBay.  #MyLittleBigVictory

Honestly I have the most dreary job ever. The prospect of knowing that all my hard work and that of my work mates would benefit the sags almost made me quit.

However justice has been done. Plus my annual bonus is safe and due  in a couple weeks. Hoorah!

Interestingly, stopping short of saying Sainsbury's terminated at the cut off date, they found the high court was wrong and they could have pulled out even sooner!

I always thought SGR fans were Tesco customers?

After all, didn't they demonstrate brand loyalty at one time by modelling their shirt on the Tesco carrier bag?

I'm not sure Mr Al Qadi could even afford to buy Dale Vince out. A couple of years ago Ecotricity was valued at about £80 million.

and while the Gas are getting excited about the possibility of a Bristol league derby next season in the league, it's still quite possible that the FGR v Bristol Rovers derby could return.

They are deluded and clearly worried, they are also so concerned about what we think! It's hilarious:yes:

The new owner is supposably in London trying to get financiers on board to help pay for their new ground.... why would he need help if he's super duper rich???  something doesn't add up, and they are beginning to get worried now!

Without the supermarket surely the UWE deal is piss poor. Won't the Arab banker want all the revenue streams back instead of splitting it with the polytechnic if he has to finance it himself?

I've not looked to deeply into the arrangement, because I don't really care, but isn't it UWE land? In which case they are right to expect to earn money from it. It amounts to a joint venture , if the Worlds richest man wants to really crack on he has to get a stadium solely owned by and ran by the club . Otherwise they are one step up from tenants again !  6th richest club in the UK/world ??? This would not be a problem ..... what do you mean they were in London looking for finance ?

Sainsbury's set to raise bid as Argos takeover deadline approaches

Investors expect Sainsbury’s to offer as much as £1.5bn for Argos on Friday, as the supermarket considers trumping a rival South African bid for the catalogue shop ahead of a 5pm deadline.

I have heard they have just added on another £30,000,000 they had lying around ... and possibly the court fees as and when Wally's wallet finally opens up and settles Higgs' debts

I might be missing something here but the original deal was to sell an out dated stadium to generate the funds to build a new stadium elsewhere with said funds.

The new buyer has come in bought the club but at the moment he still has the turnip patch plus the short term debts to pay.

So he's already shelled out once and now is being asked to shell out again.

It doesn't make sense to me, why pay double? It doesn't add up.

Not that I care mind

no its typical rovers fans wanting something for nothing,

If they fail to find funding in London you can bet on them going to the council and begging them to fund it, always the same with those gypos (though that's disrespectful to the travelling community they aren't as bad as gasheads)
