Doubt they'll be many higher at L1 level to be fair.

Then again, it's not even close to 14k

I think 6k is really , very , very good for any 3rd division side. Your season ticket sales have been consistently outstanding for while now, I know you used to do it by offering really cheap kids seats, is that still the case, or are your sales mainly adult tickets? If they are adult tickets, it really would seem to justify initially selling kids tickets so cheaply, and every club should consider doing it.

About 10-12 years ago we were, from memory, selling about 8-10k season tickets in L1 so you're not all that far off that. But of course that was a while ago and our season ticket sales haven't dipped below 11k for many years - probably since 2006.

6k is very good when you consider your ground is a dump and prices are hardly cheap, then again it's 6k after back-to back-promotions and a new owner with promised riches so optimism can't have been higher amongst your fanbase in 15 years.  You'll probably be in the top 6 average attendances in League One next season.

We have very good rates for young adults. I've paid roughly £135 for my season ticket, central block in the South Stand and near the back, and that's including an extra £20 for the first priority for away and cup games.

if I hadn't paid the extra £20 it would have worked out at £5 a game for a 21 year old, and even with the £20 it's under £6 a game

That is outstanding value, I assume City have done their maths and can make it pay, I think Bradford struggled when they sold loads of season tickets at £100, and it is a fine balance for clubs to pitch it right.

BTW, it goes without saying that if we sold season tickets as cheaply as you , we would have sold around 20,000 :)

Never too late to come and join us!

The full adult price is well over double in the south stand, though I'm now using the current rates to work that out, and I bought during early bird sales. So it seems like the adult prices throughout the ground (which match many other championship club prices) subsidise the young adult, and child prices (£99 for under 19 and £50 for under 12, regardless what stand. Under 12 tickets come with a free replica shirt.)

It doesn't say which club the replica shirt is from, I'd like to think it's ours, but knowing what City are like it could be anyone.

SS works out at about 16 quid a game which is pretty good for championship football compared to other clubs

Yep fair play. . We got a long way to go yet .. find our feet in L1 and mid table will do nicely

Sure your owner will be expecting far more than that. If you are struggling at xmas Dopey will be gone.

I think my first season ticket was £25. They now get £300+ a year out of me. I think all clubs should consider it wise investments.

Doubt it. He said when he came in that there's no "five year plan", we're just going to take each season as it comes which seems like the sensible approach. I'm more than happy to give DC a few years in League One, but then again I'm not the owner and we'll start to see what they're about this summer and when we're not doing too well.

I'm sure it's been mentioned on here but apparently we're in for Wagstaff.

Yep sure he'll jump at joining such a massive club.

Not mentioned on here (that I've noticed) but seen plenty said about it on other social media sites. It would appear that a lot of Gasheads would love to see Wagstaff wear 'da famous quarterz'.

Strange how all of our players are supposedly rubbish until one leaves the club due to the fact they are unlikely to play much in the forthcoming season...at which point every Gashead and his dog get excited at the thought that they may be in with a chance of signing one of our ex players.

It would be a move of convenience if he did stay local. I would think he would have better offers from that league. Gills and Charlton rumoured to be in for him as well i believe.

The man is well liked at Charlton as he was here. I can see him heading east rather than over the river.

Wagstaff would do very well for Rovers, then again I thought that John Akinde would do well for them.

I think there is a lot of lazy journalism going on.

His nearest club growing up was Gillingham, he played for Charlton and he lives in Bristol....

Barnsley could do worse, they're going to need some players apparently.

Barnsley is a good shout, i still think hes a useful addition to a squad at Champ level but perhaps he will need to drop down to get regular starts.

He is a Charlton fan and used to go when he was a kid. There`s still a lot of love for him from their fans judging by some of the tweets when we played up there. I think he`d be back there like a shot if they weren`t such a car crash of a club at the moment but who knows?

If it comes off you'd be signing a player I'd quite literally have been delighted to have re-signed, even if not for the first 11.

In all honesty I think he's done enough to earn a contract at this level, let alone a newly promoted club in div 3. On a free, he'd be a belting signing; for you or for many others.

He was a great player for Hull. At 73 he's obviously too old for City, but I'm sure he could still get into the Rovers team.

Meanwhile, over on the AssShat message board, people are getting very excited at being a feeder club for Chelsea.

Nothing confirmed yet, but apparently Wally has a bank, and with Roman having money there is an obvious synergy.... Seriously.

Expect them to start the season with 11 full European internationals all at zero expense.

A feeder club? What are they feeding exactly? Pasties?

I saw that thread, apparently Wally is still classed as a billionaire.

Remember him scoring a hat trick at the Gate in a 3-3 draw circa 66/7  !

(as did Albert McCann in another 3-3er at home...Gibbo's worst ever game for the City)

Wow Albert Mcann a great player.

Pompey fans used to sing to the tune of the Move's hit single Curly.

Albert Mcann is wonderful man and he plays for Pompey town.

and we love him like no other can, Mcann, Mcann, Mcann.

and Wagstaff remember him really well, Hull had another great player back then Ken Houghton, they had a really good team in those days including another great player Chris Chilton.

What's the difference between a player from a feeder club and a loaned player ?  Has'nt the loan system finished, to comply with fifa regulations ? So,as there won't be any loans permitted next season, would'nt it also apply to so-called feeder club arrangements ? After all are'nt those players just loaned out also ?

As far as im aware a yearly sum is paid to the feeder club and then players are sent there on loan for free by the parent club. As far as im aware thats it just, a better relationship between the two clubs. I think swindon have one with spurs and barnsley with united !

I thought only emergency loans were scrapped not loans during the tranfer windows.

And how many seconds, minutes and hours has it been in total?

You'd need someone with more fingers and toes than the norm to work that out.

Sadly these people aren't famed for their mathematical ability, easy to spot though - just look for the blue and white quarters.

Didn't realise this thread was created for such intelligent debate about the gas. I must have misread the opening post. I do apologise.

Ok, go on then, take the piss out of us.

We're waiting.

You haven't taken the piss though, you've just bumped the thread constantly for no apparent reason.

Fair enough if that's what floats your boat but I think most people are probably confused by it tbh. You're still below us, you still play in a ground with a tent for a stand, you still struggle to get 10k at home. You can say "tick tock" as much as you want but that isn't anything different than the same boring shit you lot have been saying every year for the last 15 years anyway.

So go on then...give us your best 'piss taking' Saghead...
