Bristol R*vers dustbin thread

I see Tom Parkes, personally I've never heard of him but according to Wikipedia he's, now was, the mainstay of the sags defence, has turned down a new contract and signed for Leyton Orient.

Something not quite ringing true when the world's  6th richest club can't retain the services of a key player, particularly when he signs for a 4th tier club.

Believe it or not it gave us chance to regroup and clean from top to bottom etc etc .. It was meant to be that way ..

Yes Dopey Darrell planned it all out didn't he

Anyway if the referee did his job In the play off final against Grimsby you wouldn't be playing 3rd tier football next season ;)

That's football .. we won it fair n square. . We finished 2nd at the end of that season and that's that !!

Kind of like how we've been above you for 16 full years fair and square. Funny how most sags are full of bitter fuelled excuses.

I don't doubt that Phil.

Hugely embarrassing way to do it mind, especially as it came only one year after you lot ripped the piss out of us for getting relegated to L1.

Still, like I say, it gave us a great laugh at your expense so it was all worth it.

Wow. His dad's a bit special.

Hi Phil!

Any reason the billionaire hasn't actually put his hand in his pocket yet then? Surely you should be doing what we did? We bought the best players in league one and walked the division...but then again we found it easy to attract them at that level.

Still, I expect any prospective signing would take one look at your collection of tents, ramshackle terraces, tiny stand and cricket pavilion and get the hell outta there!

Wasn't there a thread on Gas Chat ridiculing LJ's comment that our stadium can attract players?! Really?! Your fans can laugh at our stadium?!

Wahey!

But then again, you probably wouldn't know about that thread because you spend more time on here - go on, cross the divide mate...you know you want to!

I'm actually surprised at the number of Rovers fans who would need to drive to their games

It keeps their knuckles from dragging on the floor.

I hope his dad isn't gonna drive that car with that amount of drink in him.

Rovers splashing some of that billions by shelling out sweet FA on Plymouth defender Peter Hartley, beating the powerhouses of football Grimsby Town to his signature,

The likes of arsenal and Man city must be fearing the worse from the 6th richest club in the world

Ex Hartlepool and Stevange, 28 year old journeyman signed on a free.  The Al Wally revolution at Rovers is taking off.

I don't know how they keep managing it but rovers have pulled another top signing out of the bag,

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristol-rovers-secure-second-summer-signing-as-winger-byron-moore-joins-from-port-vale/story-29413539-detail/story.html

Moore took time out of his England commitments to sign for the 6th richest team on the planet, for the massive fee of £0, How is lansdown meant to compete with that?!?!?!

Looking at the quotes from the Vale fans, I am not sure why the Rovers would have been "competing with a lot of other clubs" as the Post claims.

I think he was their second target after John terry decided to stay with Chelsea.

Yep the reason being he costs bugger all.

To be fair our two main signings have been frees, so what is the difference?

Oh yeah, I remember. One was at the heart of the midfield of the team that won the L1 play off and the other played in the Premier League last year.

That's fine then .. He's been bought for a reason , let's see how he does !

Judging by my knowledge of your current squad I won't know who he is even after you have seen 'how he does'.

Without sounding rude, you are a real example of a gashead, Phil....

Phil, just accept that you are a City fan and end this delusion! In my 25 years of following City I've never browsed a rovers site, yet you practically live here.

I'll see you at Ashton Gate next season.  Which stand are you in?

Is that because you know that your fellow gasheads say nothing that is based in fact?

He asked about it and reply was on going talks but funding hard to get as any one who invest will want a big return on money invested and will take years and years to make a good return as most clubs lose money

Just what we`ve been saying for months then. it sounds as well like they`ve exhausted the normal lines of available credit and are having to use Wonga again.
