They at leasy ought to do a rejoinder by stating that City fans singing anti Slag songs like "......the Rovers ran away...AGAIN!" It would be a major scoop for the tatty little rag !

I know loads who were planning to watch it last night.

Touching themselves at the thought of us getting humiliated on SKY by a Huddersfield side pushing for the automatics.ย

Hope the pr1cks enjoyed it.

ย

They came out in force after the final result in their usual obsessive manner going on about South Bristol suddenly waking up again.....yawn!

I am out with a load of them tonight who were all ready to go on about the latest hammering. Think they might be a bit quieter now though.....Mind The ******* Gap!!!!

If you go down there will be a few tasty fixtures.

Plymouth, Portsmouth, Charlton, and of course us.

Plus easy ones to get to like Oxford with the three sided stadium, and perhaps Exeter for Devon cream tea. MK Dons for the stadium and padded seats. And AFC Wimbledon because everyone should be happy to be playing them, because they're an example of how the fans can save the club.

Nah you're alright. You can startย touching yourself at the thought of these tasty fixtures , think I'll give it a miss.

Only just over 8000 fans at the mem. Fantastic crowd according to the commentary. They really are supporting their team well.

Wait so double promotions and a playoff charge and they can only muster over 8k? Pathetic.ย

I know loads of rovers fans who only go to the away games so they can pretend they are hoolies

Was there any trouble..? If there was then I wonder how many of those 8k would have been sheeds..?

So we've been shit for months. And they get 8000 odd. But if they were in our position they would get 20000 . Any gas**** reading this . U really are Mickey Mouse .ย

So to summarise, a club aiming for the playoffs played a team that Sky kept referring to as `already doomed` Chesterfield on a Saturday afternoon andย got an attendance of 8,000.

A relegation- threatenedย club that have been crap for months played a team that are flying at the top of the table expecting to get stuffed on a Friday night, live on TV and in atrocious weather got an attendance of 16,000+

Listening to Joe Bryan on 20pence tonight , spoke about his goal against the Sags . Said what made it specialย ย was the fact we only play them every 10 years or so nowadays.....

Bravo Joe take a bow.

I find it amazing how we have played the majority of the teams in the football league since we played them last.

Joking aside,ย we won't go up and it looks like you may just survive. Disagree about the comments that DC has taken us as far as he can, he's the man to keep taking the club forward and he has a very bright future as a manager.ย

Sorry but your last sentence is incoherent.ย

Imagine say a sheff wed or blackburn fan looking in on this thread what a laugh he would have, bristol city top division team in the early 1900"s including a cup final in 1909 and a 5 year spell in the top flight in the 1970"s as well as gary johnsons near miss in the play off final and thats it!! pathetic really

Rovers meanwhile zero time in the top division and a team in the 1950"s that nearly got promoted into the top division.

Bristol football has been pathetic but we have not been as pathetic as them wow!

Dopey to Norwich ?

Apparently not according to this deluded one;

"As a club we have long term premiership potential that could rivial, if not better Norwich's support one day. We are one of the fastest growing clubs outside the premiership right now - training ground being built, stadium hopefully on its way, great new owners...etc..."ย

What the sags forgot is the other 91 league clubs already have their own training ground and already play at a stadium designed and built for football, notย a tarted up rugby ground.ย The thing that surprises me in all thisย is why haventย the UWE already toldย ย them to f... off.

Because UWE would like some mug to build a stadium for them to useย without paying for it ...I thinkย the Sags fit the bill rather nicely if I'm being honest.

Still think SL should approach UWE and say "if your deal with Rovers does fall through, then Bristol sports would step in and build a indoor athletics arena there" I think UWE would get a lot more out of that, Tennis, Badminton, athletics, Gymnastics (our locals have to travel to Plymouth to train for national level)ย  indoor tracks, basketball, handball, netball, ย large seating indoor venue for music / lectures / exhibitions, they would get a hell of a lot more use and income for it than ย football stadium - as well as Bristol / the area needing a facility like that a lot more than another footie stadium.

Naming rights seem to be a major stumbling block . I personally think UWE will end up building it themselves and the sags stay at the methane .

I had heard it was leasing - UWE cannot sale the land as if was gifted to them with restrictive covenants. Wael wants to purchase the land as he does not want to build Rovers stadium on something they don't own. There is what you might call creative processes going on as to how you can sale something to someone without it being considered a sale - and how the new owners can actually be owners when these covenants exist. But that could have just be hearsay - it's hard to know with so much white noise around.
