He's no Colin Daniels, that's for sure.

He is a true hero.

They don't get it, that as heart breaking as the impact of Windass's contribution was, it stopped us reaching the Premier League and achieving beyond our means.

Colin Daniel on the other hand, produced the moment that humiliated them beyond words and condemned them to failure on an unrivalled level.

Oh, and the fact that he did it whilst actually wearing Rovers' kit just made it even more ####ing hillarious!

So they celebrate our failure to over achieve, whilst we celebrate their complete and utter failure as they lost their status as a football league club! Hmmm #gaslogic

Back in the day, if you'd gone to see Sinatra in concert, you'd have been disappointed had he not sung "My Way". I'm sure that when the gas hoardes are strutting their famous jesterwear around foreign parts they will be well aware that they have an obligation to the locals by singing about Eileen at every opportunity before making their way to watch the match from their vantage point in the stadium car park. That's " Their Way".

jesterwear = word of the day! ... along with jesterchair

This mornings report say that Nicholls fee was undisclosed, as was the length of his contract.

The latter seems unusual to me.

It's a very clever ploy by the board to give the fans what they want - the opportunity to lie about it or exaggerate it

I guess this is similar to Stoke fans looking down on the mighty Port Vale ?

Talk about tin pot!!

Capture.PNG

The figures are utter bollocks anyway as EFL clubs have to make a certain % available for POTD so it's probably less than 5K, maybe nearer 4.

Apparently, they are going to average 15k in League 1 when the UWE gets built....

"Difference is we averaged over 9k in a shitty stadium -- I believe "when" we get our new ground we have the potential to have a 15 k average. ( as long as we,re playing well )"

Bless them. Since they stole the minimal over 20 years ago they've averaged a 9k attendance once. Wait until they hit a rocky patch again they'll be down to 6k crowds quicker than you can say pikeys.

They must be getting all moist with anticipation now what with it being nearly August and work starting on the UWE.

I`m surprised we haven`t heard on the local news about the arrangements for the ceremonial turf cutting ceremony yet, surely there will be traffic chaos in the area with all the hordes of dignitaries and fans that will want to attend.

Or have I missed something?

Talking of Windass, does anyone know if he's managed to pick himself off the sticky floor of Chasers yet?

Its bad enough having your footwear being stuck to the floor in there never mind being put on your ass....

I see they've signed Sweeney & Godden. I immediately thought of City's Gerry Sweeney and Godden the WBA keeper. Both retired from playing over 30 years ago, but would be right for the gas. But no, it's a pair of current players with illustrious surnames.

It's seems to have passed everyone by that they've strengthened their squad with the signing of 25 year old centre back from Hayes and Yeading on a free transfer.

Tick tick and all that.

Former soldier who served 9 months at Camp Bastion. Good luck to him.

I'm not sure if that worthy stint will have prepared him for the horrors that await at the mem though.

Just to say ............

........... if any of you have not tried a double raspberry magnum ice-cream, then you really ought to.

They are seriously moorish.

Have not found a super-market that sells them yet, but you can get your hands on one in a good petrol station.

Expect to pay around £1.80 for one.

Really - you should try one.

Cheers,

Our good friends at Sainsbury's are selling them ... who appear to still be in business despite the massive boycott ... they can be found next to the bags of poo left by Henbury Gas

It states: “Opportunity exists to invest in English football market though acquisition of Cardiff City Football Club, a professional football team playing in the EFL Championship.

“The club was acquired by Vincent Tan in 2010, whose support enabled the club to develop and be promoted to the Premier League in 2013/14 – total investment in excess of £130m.”

In March, Tan denied he was actively looking to sell Cardiff, but he did add: “If I am offered the right price, I will certainly consider.

“I have always publicly said that except for my family, all my businesses are for sale at the right price. I do not fall in love with my businesses.”

So this Is this plan B for the gas

sell the mem for housing make rovers a non league team again and rent The training ground to them.

pocket all the money and get Cardiff for free

change Cardiff name to Cardiff rovers

win win happy days

Oh, 'tis 100% accurate. A bit of sun, a bit of booze, Dean Windass and a few tubes of lube and they are in their element

Look at this shite on Slagchat!

By now, they should have been in the prem. Jesus, compared to what other teams have spent, they should be pushing for Europe...I was so upset, growing up in the 80s and 90s and seeing the way some of their absolute scumbags behaved (and we really weren't half as bad, they were effectively committing acts of terrorism on us)....I almost lost hope. It seemed to be a cruel joke that they were bestowed with riches and we got L2 and 20 years of humiliation.I've been waiting, and waiting, for that inevitable day where they catipulted up the leagues....it didn't happen, did it.Now, the championship is as competitive as ever. Steve Lansdown is not as big a fish in that league, with more and more foreign investment. I am feeling they lost their chance. They were too rich for the championship for many years, thank god for Dean Windass.

Oh boo boo, those nasty Sheeds and us poor defenceless Family Club supporters with nearly more banning orders than most clubs in the football league! Woe is us, how unfairly treated we are boo hoo, thank you Dean Windass even though we don't obsess about Ted's and are no t envious in any way shape or form.

Makes my ******* piss boil!!!! Deluded *****

Sometimes I wonder if some of their fans parody others with posts like these.

Then I remember they support Bristol Rovers and don't have the intelligence for such wit.

Love the bit about us commiting acts of terrorism. I guess they'd know all about that with their supporters club treasurer, Bin Thieving wasn't it?!

You`d need a good wash afterwards I should think. There is also the risk of contamination if you were to breathe in some air that one of them had breathed out - before you know it you`d be crowing about Wally`s wealth and anticipating watching the first game at the UWE in 2018.

Provided you wear a full anti-radiation suit you should be OK though.

I assume FGR won yesterday's game as there is no "Official FGR v Bristol Rovers" thread. Instead one complaining about treatment of fans and another complaining about the catering.

However, gasp, shock, horror, the 2nd post on page 5 of the "Vegan Rovers" thread is a post calling for debate rather than abuse! http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/10284/vegan-rovers-gas?page=5

First time I've been on here for a few days and it's just the same kind of School play ground crap that was on here last time.I used to use this forum because I could find out things about our club that I probably couldn't from the official club website and there were interesting debates that I felt I could get involved in but those days seem to be gone now.Shame. To have a proper debate you have to argue your case against opinions you don't agree with but there are many on here that simply hurl abuse at anyone with alternative opinions. All opinions however unpalatable should be heard and argued with or against to make the forum work properly in my view.

Just out of interest I started reading the report on their official site but I didn't get beyond the opening paragraph.

Talk about getting your excuses in early, apparently their flight home was delayed so the poor loves got to bed late, and it's a lot colder in Nailsworth than it was in Portugal.
