You'd be surprised. A lot of people are scared to buy them.

The other week for example, I went to B&Q to look at outdoor solutions and some bloke in orange asked me if I wanted 'decking'.

I got the first punch in and made good my escape, but with aggressive pensioners standing guard over outdoor seating solutions, it's no surprise some people fib.

I read viz as well Rob :laughcont:

Modern Toss is my juvenile publication of choice these days.

Ah thought you'd seen the joke in viz , seen it on their twitter feed. Modern Toss ? never heard of it

Used to think that my patch, Hanham, was gashead territory but think now over the years that has changed. My dad still lives in Hanham, his next door neighbour is a saghead, regularly takes delight in taking the mick over the garden fence.

Back in the late 80's in my teenage years working part time in Asda, Longwell Green (don't hold that against me, OTIB'ers!), used to frequent the Barrs Court for a Fri eve beverage, remember that being mostly gas? Certainly when the group of us who used to work n socialise together were outed as City, we got unceremoniously told to leave in a pint throwing incident - haven't been back since.

I still nip in there for a beer now and again even though it's a curry house now, very pleasant it is too.

In those days, when the Barrs was rather lively, it was predominantly gas but it was more like a nightclub that a pub. I've fallen out of there at 5am before. It used to be frequented by banjo's finest and, to be fair, banjo is nigh on 100% gas, even nowadays.

As for the 'need 15,000' to break even, that would worry anyone who supports that shower although Henbury ****t probably thinks the Mem can get that many in regardless.

Fortunately not. Know a few absolute ****ts that go in there, and yes they are all gas.

Name doesn’t ring any bells, think I’ve only ever set foot in the place once, that was after a game on a Sunday morning.

I've only ever set foot inside the Lamb once and that was also on a Sunday lunchtime after playing against them in the morning. I was only 17 and had never heard of Banjo Island.....as it happened I was wearing a City shirt.

One of my older teammates (a fellow City fan) did say "that's the worst possible shirt you could wear around here"....I didn't get any grief, not to my face anyway.

Likewise, I've only been in there once, the day they beat Wycombe to 'stay up' ;) I was met by a chorus of 'sheeedhead' and 'goodnight Irene' although I knew a few of them, all friendly enough.

I didn't stay long. Popular boozer though.

The blue few's humiliation can be witnessed here from the vantage point of the 5000 strong travelling army. Enjoy.

That has to be the best version of Irene I've ever heard. "...I'll see you in my dreams" 1-0 down! Perfect.

Looks like they want a bar in the car park at their game with MK Dons... https://democracy.bristol.gov.uk/documents/s16876/A - TEN Report mem stadium.pdf

The police have objected... which is strange for a family club.

Wonder where they got the idea from anyway?

You just know it would be a dozen cans of warm harp lager sold from that classy fold up UWE freshers table top and when they run out they can always nip to the local Sainsbury's.

Most ?

Yep, most of the new supporters of the late 70's First Division BCFC disappeared pretty sharpish once the going got tough.

City's average gate:

78/79 - 22,306

83/84 - 4,799

As one of the less than 5k who were there all the way through I remember it got bloody draughty in the EE.

Having read another of his posts, he claimed to earn a good wage and work 60 hours a week.

I'm sure earlier in this thread someone posted details from companies house that suggested his second hand grot device shop was hardly successful.

Sounds like HRMC should have a poke round, cash in hand PC repairs.....

I smell a large heap of BS. I’ve managed more commercial contracts with Offshore and Overseas companies than you can shake a stick at and ‘additional tax issues’ is just a nonsense. A week to sort out a few loose ends maybe but four months?

Why does Dwayne Sports not own the colony, why yet another subsidiary.

Fair points both, and you're right Archie. I misread the chart and was one season out with the low crowd.

Point still stands though that most of the fans City gained in the Div.1 days were off pretty sharpish once we started plummeting - they certainly didn't become long term City fans gained in terms of attending.

1978/79 - 22,306 (Div 1)

1982/83 - 4,799 (Div. 4)

1983/84 - 7,287 (Div. 4 promotion season)

Dancing Sir....mostly dancing...

Or

Their gullible fans probably got fed a load of bollocks as per usual because the owners know by now that the blue few are too ******* stupid to ask questions.

Their Chairman asked the fans to be patient and then revealed the first concept drawings of an 120,000 all seater Memorial Stadium complete with space port, shopping complex and 50,000 space 'safe standing' car park.

This was shown alongside a computer generated video of DC and the team bringing home the 2020 European Cup.

Apparently the fans lapped it up and can't wait to see the build start next week.

Think a few though did start to have doubts when they said about 'a link to the operational Bristol Metrobus system'.

From their forum about last nights AGM.

"They said what you would expect them to say which basically rubbishes the rumors (but nothing new that hasn't been said before)

Family in it for the long run
Dwane sports own the club
Colony is on track owned by Dwane Colony which is an offshore company which means there are additional tax issues that they have been working through, expect to be all sorted by February
SH pushing for 18k minimum stadium but hopefully 20k
Expect to be constructed stand by stand so no need to move out during construction"

And then this beauty

"Forgot to mention last night but the question was asked about the consortium. Apparently people at the club (but not SH) had been approached by an ex News of the World journalist that SH knew of from his Swansea days. Nothing substantial was forthcoming and SH referred to the approach as a hoax"

Does anyone know this ex NoW journalist. It must be a City fan.

The gift that keeps giving...

Similar thing happened to me. I replied, "Well, I was going to wear a Gas shirt but I was afraid I might relegate myself."
