Jcolebristol
Wow. Gobsmacked by the response. I have no intention to lie? I’ll be honest, I have no proof, I’m just reiterating what he said. He’s severely autistic and could be making stuff up but as a decent human being I’ve gotta take his claim serious. You cant seriously think that their isn’t 1 bad apple amongst the city fans? At the end of the day, nothings gonna happen about it now. What is fact is a vulnerable fan has switched cos he’s very scared of something that happened. People are just amazed by the fact that a disabled man was assaulted inside a football stadium that is laden with cctv cameras, none of them picked up the assault and none of the 22000 people in attendance witnessed it. Furthermore, when asked by the police/club for proof of the incident none has been given. Nobody is saying you are lying, it's just astonishing that something like this has gone completely unnoticed Edited June 2, 2018 by JBFC II

The club have confirmed no reports of a serious assault at the match in question, same with the Police and nothing on CCTV. That’s all anyone needs to know. Sad Sags trying to score points by making things up. Yes, better at having more incidents of racial abuse in one season then football clubs have had in 30 years. Bra-vo. The way I left it is I told him to bring it up with the club as they will, of course, get to the bottom of the issue but he wanted to just leave it. Matt Hello @Matt Parsons BCFCSLO, thank you for the response, very much appreciated. I think the frustration for many is this gentleman is making comments which as a fan of Bristol City I find concerning. In general I would say that Ashton Gate is a safe environment for supporters to attend, but with the gentleman making claims that a supporter was subject to a vicious assault is hard to stomach, add in the fact that said individual is disabled and many stood and watched is concerning, especially when this allegation continues to be made. My concern is that people are posting his gentleman’s image, contact details etc which I completely disagree with. Eh??Don’t know why ‘Newmarketgas’ or the OP on that thread sound so smug? The fact they get on so well just shows that, unlike the fans, Rovers players don’t care that he ditched them for us....to be fair the rest of them would do the same if they could . . SirColinOfMansfield
"Knowing your market These seems to be quite a look of "facility envy", but while the Mem cannot compete with Ashton Gate, or even any other stadium in the country for events, why doesn't the marketing dept try and get more bookings based on what we have? I have been to several Gashead wedding receptions in very poor rooms in tacky venues and surely the Mem is the epitome of poor and tacky? If we are to be successful we need the stadium to be in use more than 50 days a year before it is condemned as a public eyesore. There must be a prospective market, it is up to the stadium marketing staff to be pro actice and go out and get new business. Small profits at loads of car boot sales is better than trying to use it for football. Perhaps our venue has been used as an excuse for below average players and we need to get even more over-paid under-qualified suits to help move the club further backwards again. We may not have made loads from the World Cup games but even if only 40,000 people turned up (as we get anytime we prowdly go to Wembly), we should still expect to manage the potential attendance and make a huge loss." http://gasheads.proboards.com/thread/12315/market

SimonR
Arena seating, you mean its not a 4 quid patio chair from argos. I am beginning to wonder if the gas are a complex experiment on how long you can take the proverbial out of a group of people before they realise you are doing it. so far over 100 years. It’s just clever wording. State that they will have “Arena seating” then base it on the non-existent Bristol Arena..!

old parkender
Haha, brilliant With the increase in seating, now from the sounds of it at the expense of terracing, it feels like they’re getting ready for the possibility of a 3 year stint in the championship before we actually move from the Mem or get it properly rebuilt.
