That's incredible! back to back promotions and they never "sold out" their ground. His maths (like many a gashead) seems to be off too. Rovers were a creditable 8th in the average attendances last season averaging around 8900, this is not "double" little Shrewsburys gates of 6200. Anyway to boast that the size of the club is what attracted a 31 year old lower/non-league journeyman, is quite frankly the most desperate example of papering over the cracks.

Gert Mare
Bristol Rovers fans played a huge part in convincing Alex Rodman to join the Gas Gas' new winger gives his first interview He told the club's site : "I'm absolutely delighted now and can't wait to get ready. Rodman says one of the biggest attractions was playing in front of the Gas ' fans. "The fan base here is one of the main attractions. I remember playing here years ago in a night game on a Friday night and the place was absolutely rocking. There was boob cricket, racial abuse, horse punching, burning City shirts, spitting, attacking their own stewards, punching opposing players in the back of the net, pitch invasions, multiple arrests and more banning orders than you could shake a stick at.” "It's somewhere I've always managed to do quite well at, as Rovers have been dogshit for many years now. Someone reminded me that they have been below City for almost 18 years now! I think someone mentioned the goal scoring record I've had against Bristol Rovers, which is quite good. "Hopefully I can do that for Bristol Rovers but playing against them at the ground over the years, the atmosphere has been toxic and hopefully we can replicate the success I had with Shrewsbury last year and the place will be rocking this year, unless the fake sheikhs make a significant investment in the ramshackled tented commune”. myol'man
I genuinely think that this will be Dopey's last season at R*vers. He is apparently a talented coach and he must be getting sick and tired of the lack of investment, so come the first wave of sackings in the autumn and I think he'll jump at the chance of a decent League 1 club with a bit of cash to splash.

You have to wonder if he regrets not taking the Leeds role when he had the chance. Granted Leeds were something of a bonkers club back then, but if he had done well he'd be set now. But working for a club with no money might well leave some chairmen wondering if he would be able to motivate already wealthy players.

Guest
Dopey would need to go somewhere where he will be given time to get what team he wants, and tbf he has done well all things considered with the sags. He may also know that the manager merry go round could well be a big risk to move elsewhere and be under some pressure from the off. Along with a managerial career being a bit longer than a players, I guess he is just in a job where he is comfortable and nobody really questions him at all. But he won't be stepping up I doubt where he is and surely could get a position elsewhere, even he knows now he has been told a pack of lies by Wally et al, and knows he has to get players on free transfers. If he has any ambition he wouldn't be there now I guess.

Anyway, I understood the Park Street shenanigans were started by Rovers. Perhaps he was one of them? They also smashed up a pub in Bradley Stoke last night after Colombia equalised. My ITK is a rovers fan who was there. Admirable bunch aren’t they
Lanterne Rouge
Anyone want to pop over there and tell them we`ve spent the thick end of £10m in the last fortnight - that`s 25+Tillsons if they can`t visualise such large numbers. 7 hours ago, JamesBCFC said: Yes your eyes do decieve you, you fool. We have to pay Scunthorpe compensation because he is under 24 and they offered him a new deal, but as he was out of contract he was a "free agent". Plus the reason we take the piss is the fact that almost every transfer you make is a free, because you haven't a pot to piss in, and your record transfer was someone you signed last millennium. Of course, if this disabled supporter was to be real, we might even be minded to have a whip round and pay for his season ticket - in the same way that it took a City fans to galvanize their supporters to raise money for the Rovers fan who was sadly injured on military service. Did we not help arrange a helicopter to get him to a final?

Hi Oldslag quite happy to copy your post on here. I couldn’t give a shit who is better supported than us, you’re the ones that bang on about crowds, waving your tiny nobs around and slagging off clubs like Shrewsbury in a pathetic attempt to make yourselves feel big. We deal in facts on here which can make for uncomfortable reading if you’re a Saghead, especially when it proves you aren’t as great as you think you are...far from it in fact. They've got nothing. Absolutely nothing. Which is why we often see pathetic posts like this, full of playground insults about interbreeding and unemployment. If "oldgas" really is "old" he obviously doesn't have much going on upstairs.

myol'man
CLUTCHING AT STRAWS; England won the penalty shoot-out thanks to the Gas, says the Bristol Post. Apparently some random ex-goalie who played THREE games on loan for R*vers back in 1993 is the England goalkeeping coach!
