Some belting suggestions from the fewers for Harrison’s replacement...... wait for it.....

1- David McGoldrick (on verge of signing for Sheff Utd I believe)

2 - Yann Kermogant (getting on abit but still championship quality)

3 - Darren Bent :rofl2br:

Yet we are the ones who think we are something we are not, and target unrealistic signings re Gayle/Gray, these are what your manager classes as Waitrose signings (compeletely out of their reach) just the wages only will eat their entire transfer budget probably for the next 3 seasons.

Why would Darren Bent want to leave playing for the likes of Burton, to go and sign for Rovers..?! :laughcont:

Mind The Gap!

Indeed I don't think they understand that even if they can afford him which we all know they can't, he would'nt dream of playing at Chernobyl.

I would imagine that if Dopey doesn't get financial backing following that player sale, he'll be on the lookout for a new club, giving it the whole 'I've taken them as far as I can' argument.

He’s limited on the club’s that will appeal to him though.

He only joined the Gas because of their misleading claim within their name, which he probably thought was a contract clause to keep him happy away from home.

Poor Darrell must have been gutted when he realised that Bristol ROVERS wasn’t a promise..!

No ‘big’ club will touch Clarke, saying that most clubs are classed as big to that lot, as said previously he’s too comfortable there, when he does eventually leave it’ll be to someone like Barnsley.

A lot of gasheads I work with are laughing at the fact they got a fee for Harrison, said he wasn’t prolific at all, I don’t think he’s anywhere near there best player

They were saying he was their best player before he signed for Ipswich though. Strange that

Yeah they also said that about Taylor and Bodin when they left

Are they really?

They’re a smart bunch aren’t they...

Gasheads I know seem pretty pissed off that they’ve only got £700k for him. Still, I’m sure Rovers have got loads of prolific strikers amongst their ranks capable of banging in 20 goals this season.

Out of interest who is their best player?

Is it the fisherman?

Nope never happened :nono:

So, 700k in the bank, time to break that transfer record then.

At some point some poor sod is going to be announced as their record signing for a paltry 400k or similar.

Mind the gap or perhaps careful of the chasm might be more apt as modern football continues to move upwards beyond their reach.

I don't know why but, listening to radio reports this morning about Bath Rugby releasing details of their new stadium, I had a vision of vultures in blue and white quarters sat on the fence as it is being built. :)

I would love it if they moved to bath and shared their ground. Would be the end of Bristol Rovers. They would surely change their name to Bath Rovers. Please let this happen. Be funnier than NLBR .

Was going to say the same thing - I suppose Bristol Bears is just before the rugby change to Bristol City too?

They did own it and harry dolman advised them not to sell it when they were struggling. They didn’t listen then years down the line the rent went up and the pikeys were evicted. Ever since , been going around with a begging bowl and blaming everyone else for their plight. Also the reason they tried to get Ashton gate on the cheap. Vile vile club.

Yep - spot on....and remember the constant bleating when they had to share with Bath City - “we are sooo poor, we have to train at a chocolate factory...blah blah blah” - and constantly  revelling in the ‘ragbag rovers’ victim status - “we are sooo hard done by” - yet only three thousand of their ‘unique, loved all over the world’ fans turned up for the last game at their spiritual home - which is now resplendent in the colours of Tesco (the sags even stole their carrier bag design for their kits!) and Ikea...always want everyone to think they are hard done by - but they sold a plethora of strikers for very good money at the time (Penrice, Hayles, Ellington, Roberts, Stewart, Cureton, Lambert...etc) and replaced them with £100k strikers from lower divisions in Scotland (Martin Cameron from Alloa) - they received big transfer fees (relatively speaking) and paid peanuts for replacements...so where did that cash go?! And quite frankly, who cares?! (Credit: Barry Davies)

Laughing at the fact they got a fee for a player...?!

Soon they might realise that generally, in most cases, that is how football works..!

What they should be concerning themselves with is that its yet another of their “Better players” leaving for relative peanuts. At least in Harrison’s case it’s more like half a bag of peanuts, rather than the usual couple of peanuts from down the back of the sofa..!

So Gas currency has now changed from a Tilson to a Harrison, or are we still talking multiple Tilson's ?

I think there is a real possibility the blue few will be relegated this season. Lack of investment, ambition and no real plan add in the selling off of their better players.

Dont forget these things take time and Wally is a lovely man!

Now that’s just being silly, we are swapping places with them next season, I know this because they say it every season.

Do you really think so? I must admit, I don't really pay attention to what they are or aren't doing pre-season. I tend to just get some fun logging on to this thread. I would love to see them go down and or Dopey leave for a job at Battersea.

I wonder if Dopes is ever in his bed (or his Dog's ) at night thinking 'f@ck I should've taken the Leeds job'.

FFS!! Will that club ever learn  I hope to god not, they are pure comedy gold.

Only 2015 could have the "ingenuity" (?!) to turn an industrial sized wheelie bin (on wheels as it was more than likely nicked), and turn in into an "ice bath". :laughcont:

The most embarrassing thing is that the person who got the sign made for it decided that they should include the club logo .... twice!

Otherwise, they might have got away with it.

All joking aside. When they played at Eastville, Rovers actually had a professional looking shop on Stapleton or Fishponds Road, not too far away from Muller Road.

That picture looks sooo tin pot, I doubt there's anywhere so bad / sad looking in the entire National League or even a good way further down the pyramid.

I noticed recently that Reading fans also use similar comparisons, talking in terms of ‘Curetons’ - some geezer or lass wanted to know how £100m had been squandered over a given period of time and some of the replies he/she received were along the lines of “Blimey, that equates to 408 Curetons...” - even their ex-players attract ridicule, the gift!

Reminds me of the old scrap metal places down on Feeder Road.

Anyone who's been to Clevedon Town's Hand Stadium will tell you that they have better, more up to date facilities than that. It's almost tragic.
