But also that because of that people pick and choose their games. We'll take the best part of 4k to QPR and Swans. Will probably be October before the sags have taken that many away from home.

Took my 8 year old son for the first time today to watch the Glos T20 blast game against Surrey this afternoon, great win and a nice afternoon out. Went for a quiet pint after the game in an unnamed boozer on Gloucester road (lad wearing city shirt) and without going into detail was told by a group of Gasheads to cover the lad up or get a hiding!!  Who the **** acts like that? Not tarring them all with the same brush but FFS!! Ruined a great day out..

I got strangled by one as an 8 year old, he was in his twenties, I only walked past his house with my dog and let it poo, I’m now in my 30s and never see the man around

Which pub were you in mate? Tbf I've been taking my kids in pubs on the Gloucester Road in their City kits for years and never had a whiff of confrontation from any gas, just some good natured piss taking.

Disgusting way to treat you and your kid though, I hope he's not too shaken up.

No not in the slightest.

Would probably try and have some very soft light hearted banter with them.

They come out with this sort of shit so often.

No doubt views like these are one of the reasons they think they’re loved the World over.

To be fair, they took more fans to their first away game this season (Posh) than we did...and the two trips were pretty much the same distance - 172 miles vs 178 miles each way....

Once in a while that sort of statistic is going to happen and there’s a variety of reasons for it. It would be equally ridiculous to compare our attendance when we play against Swansea with their attendance against whoever they’re playing away next.

The facts are, despite them claiming to have superior away support, we have higher average away attendances than them every single season. From what I’ve seen they rarely sell out their allocations so they can’t even blame smaller grounds.

“the uncertainty of the new turnstile system”

**** me they don’t take much persuading to stay in the pub do they?

No wonder the sensible members of the Al Qadi family realise they don’t need a new ground.

I would say hopefully karma catches up with them, but it evidently has already given they support that shower of shite.

I don’t think we’ll be taking many to QPR. Especially with midweek championship games available to watch on Sky or bctv. I’d be surprised if more that 800 went to QPR in midweek this season.

Sounds like a common thing with gasheads ,I have already posted on OTIB about the 4 drunk idiots in the bus station after an England game recently . Shouting abuse at families going home after a day shopping then picking on a solitary City fan they singled out .Gave him nasty abuse in front of his wife .

Poor timid Sagheads. No wonder they’re happy with a few tents for ground improvements. God knows how they’d cope with an entire new stadium?

Their propaganda machine would put North Korea to shame. Sixth richest club in England, best Manager in the country, tent improvements everywhere you look at the Mem, World Boob Cricket Champions, Avon and Somerset Police bringing in stable loads of extra horses for them to punch and they still couldn’t get 9k on Saturday.....

Usually, yes. But games haven’t been available on the Sky red button for free, or via bctv for a tenner before. I think that’s going to have quite a big effect on numbers that might otherwise have travelled.

Again, I hope that I’m wrong.

Er all our games that have been on Sky when in London? Pretty sure we took over 2k to QPR on a Thursday night years ago when it was on ITV digital. As others have said, we have a fair old number of fans in London. Be horrified if we can't take more than 1,000 to QPR. Here's hoping ?

Now we have a more professional administration that effectively say we will tell you stuff when it's a done deal...and fans don't like it!

Got to admit, I like these people and I'm glad they are running the club.

Totally agree. I think they run the club professionally. Just look at the staff we have behind DC and in the academy, such an improvement on pre-takeover times.

I also prefer to see us as a club that earns what it spends, rather than building up debts it can't afford. Which is what i believe Wael is trying to do.

laughable

I cant think of many standard league, midweek London games that have been on TV.

I’m not a fan of this new broadcasting rule, for this exact reason. I’ll gladly be subscribing though bctv for this one, as I’m away on holiday, but I hope it doesn’t deter too many from actually attending non weekend fixtures.

We shall see...!

So they haven't grasped that they already have debts that are secured on the ground, with the risk that carries?

I'm from South Bristol and a Rovers fan in a family full of you lot... If we were ever out in Bemmy I'd pretty much always wear my Rovers top as growing up I knew a fair amount of City fans and it was all friendly banter and I felt safe thinking the worst that could happen was a few piss take exchanges between each other, but when I was 13/14 I was started on along East St by 3 or 4 drunk men. I had family and family friends around so all was well but it was pretty scary at the time!

As I said, hope your boy continues to wear the shirt and that most Rovers fans will just have a bit of banter if he's wearing his shirt. Just arm him with a few pisstake lines about us and let him fire back and all will be well.

I don’t get why people chose or abuse some one purely based on the wearing a football shirt

its not the 70’s and 80’s anymore some just need to grow up and stop being pathetic

How about this for an inspiring speech...not exactly Churchill is he....

Like a Rabbit in the headlights. The nervous little laughs shouldn't inspire any confidence, that this man (however nice) knows anything at all about how to progress the club. At this point in the questioning, he should be saying things along the lines of, we've spoken to three different groups about stadium partnerships and it's all positive but, I cannot name those  groups. The stadium sites are all within 10 miles of our heartland.

On the training ground, we have been in discussion with the local authority about the plans and are working with them to provide the best facilities possible, which are acceptable to the authority and an application will follow shortly.

Instead, it's a nervous laugh and a waffle about reassuring people, which doesn't actually reassure anyone.

It would appear that he's trying to plod along with little financial resources at his disposal, other than the odd sale of a player and season ticket sales, because his family have told him, no more investment from us, find it from elsewhere. And he's hoping for a night in shining armour to turn up and rescue him from his personal commitment.

Long may this waffling continue.

I thought the same. There’s no reason why he couldn’t say they’d employed architects to draw up some plans.

He used an awful lot of words but said absolutely nothing at all. Just vague uninspiring waffle.

As said previously, DS owns the training ground so they can disclose whatever they want to the fans. The bloke or his family are not doing a single thing, and I would bet whatever you want that there will be no training ground ready for next season (their own).

I thought he was the man in charge (not the purse strings), if so why at the end "has the club been up for sale" - "no, not that I know of ha ha ha".

They are fooked

oh dear...............

I agree, saw the game in Saturday (North stand) and we heard the reason why the stands haven’t been finished is that they haven’t paid the contractors as the club doesn’t have the money & that Wael has had is accounts frozen. Pinch of salt needed but smoke and fire.....

Not sure on that one, but I do remember a very sparsely populated away end at The Bees for a Tuesday night league cup tie around the year 2000 - we lost 2-1 and it was absolutely p*ssing down - I only went because I was working in London at the time...

Great memory on the score, but it was a league cup match - August 2005 - Barnet 4 City 2 - but then just a few months later we went there under Gary Johnson in the LDV Vans trophy and got spanked again 3-2!

When he answered (if that's the correct terminology) the question about whether it was finances holding back the training ground, he replied that it was a combination of things, budget (set by himself), what the club wanted, what the club needed. Basically, the budget is too low to produce a training ground, but the family money is safe, as it could always go for housing.

Good spot - not even their new turnstiles do (not sure a pedal counts as automated ):

8 Turnstiles

8.1 These must be of the automatic revolving type fitted with counting facilities and a computerised turnstile monitoring system.

there's no point in not taking this one seriously. I recall a couple of great runs to the quarter finals back in the day that had Eastville rocking. Anyway, we have to go one better then the sh**e, don't we?

Henbury Sag being called out, AGAIN !

"Just look at the stadium Henbury, you think thats before the game?

No knowledge? Let's talk abour lack on knowledge shall we?

HenburyGas - known on the forum to talk out of his arse 24/7. I even came to your shop once fella (where you did a poor job in replacing my hard drive but luckily for you I moved abroad shortly after) and you told me that "I'm in the know of what's going on with the stadium and I can't name names but now Sainsbury's have pulled out, we're still building the stadium with a certain shop that is similar to Lidl - also of German origin, is going to buy our land and we'll build our stadium."

So how about you cut the crap & perhaps, why don't you give me some proof where I'm having a moan about something I have no knowledge about? Where have I done that? I'd love to see your evidence. In fact, I'd love to see any evidence of the constant nonsense you spout.

Or wait, did your made up contact in your made up world tell you again?"
