Bristol R*vers dustbin thread

"A rejuvenated Darren Ferguson is ready to deliver the fourth Peterborough United promotion of his career.

Ferguson replaced sacked Posh manager Steve Evans in a dramatic couple of hours at the ABAX Stadium last night (January 26).

The new boss starts his third spell in charge of Posh with a League One game at lowly Bristol Rovers on Tuesday (January 29). He inherits a side in sixth place, the final League One play-off spot."

"Lowly Bristol Rovers" has a nice ring to it. Is this their new official name?

Will we be resurrecting the nlbr thread when the inevitable happens, or by then will it be the new improved "The Non league Bristol rovers in administration" thread? Just curious ?

We will probably have a new thread mocking Forest Green by then, seeing as they will be our most relevant local rivals..!

To be fair he’s going to get as much stick as they’ve ever given out. He loves being the centre of attention so I’m predicting a hat trick at least

Yes definitely a player who loves to be wound up by the opposition and he will be out to impress Ferguson all over again.

And would be no doubt aware that we might be taking an interest in this result

that is definitely a "For **** sake"

Agent: Hello Gabby, Guess what...! Bristol want to sign you on loan until the end of the season!

Gabby: Get in there..! I notice they’ve been on a great run! Their stadium looks amazing now, with big crowds, they are pushing for the play offs and have several players from Chelsea. I will learn loads there and it will be a great experience..!

Agent: errrr Gabby, no!....??

They're definitely coming for us now.  ?

It's only a matter of time!

Tick tock............

They are coming for us ... just as soon as their Big Screen TV finally arrives ... that will be kickstarting everything for them ... winning matches, promotion, new stadium and training ground, life-size BabeStation, etc.

However, there has been yet another hold up ....

"Been having problems with the supplier. Screen has been in the country for months now. But they are having problems making the bespoke frame, that has to go onto the steels that are already in place on the South stand. We are awaiting to hear more from the supplier. "

But the truth is that no fixings are available for mounting a TV on canvas.

Not like there are universal frames/brackets, or just imagine if you could go to a fabricator who will knock you one up in a day no problem...... Sorry I forgot there is only one in the UK.....

We've told them that we've sent a Postal Order in the mail. Hopefully this will encourage them to make a start. We are awaiting to hear more from the supplier. "

Tehy are still going on about Wycombe! :grr:  http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/13767/ring-any-bells

Agree with Adams views 100% - haven't seen an anti-football team like Wycombe for quite a few years. This isn't sour grapes for losing but did anyone else also feel that the Wycombe players also (probably under instruction) hoofed more balls over the stands than in an average rugby game ?!

Yeah, Wycombe were appalling. I'd rather finish 20th then have to watch them every week.

They played like a poor Conference side - sadly, we played just as bad- but at least we didn't stall the game with playacting, time wasting and although we did do a bit of 'hoof' ball it was nowhere near as much as what they did. Their RB could only do one thing, hoof it as far as he could- usually directly upwards! We were appalling that day but at least we know we are capable of a better standard normally. I suspect that is how Wycombe play every week.

The only animal I know who "hoofs it" to use their rather coloqual coin of phrase would be a horse or a donkey.

So that's it then, you heard it, er, straight from the horse's mouth, even the sags admit they have a team of donkeys and a tramp!
