I was watching EFL goals program and Plymouth are building a new stand the entire length of their pitch, with more seats than the whole of Chernoble. Exeter have built two stands at their ground but the 15ers still claim that only them and Spurs are doing any substancial ground improvements. Since when has a big screen bracket been more substantial than a Stand ?

.....and Brentford’s new stadium is coming on a treat (below) - but obviously the blue few lap up the guff that they are on a par with Spurs in terms of developing their tented village....

Looks like pretty standard stuff after a big club visit a smaller club in what is essentially the smaller clubs cup final. Man Utd and Man City were saying the same things about us last year. Difference being of course that we weren’t offering blow jobs outside the away end or in local pubs.

3 or 4 who seem to have a dislike for City. Apart from the Coventry game in 77 I can’t think what we’ve done to be so important to them? Although I suppose I can understand why a group of fans from the North East who are 2 divisions below their bigger, better supported local rivals would be sympathetic towards the Sags.

Funny how the smaller teams they play every season don’t seem to come out with the same gushing praise. But then the ‘super loyal’ Gasheads only make an effort when visiting or hosting a big club.

The fact is, more BRISTOLIANS love City. Always been the case as historic attendances prove. They can have the sympathy vote, it doesn’t change the facts.

Sunderland fans like the gas more than us? Ah well, I can live with that as I couldn't give a shit about them. IIRC, the Toon fans said the same about us both home and away so I know which club I prefer up there and guess what, it ain't Sunderland.

I only know one Sunderland fan, a fella called Rich who's a lovely bloke. He's ex army and married a Bristol girl many years ago and they settled up there.

Funny how the 'loyal and prowed' self confessed best supporters in the land weren't quite to accommodating to Oxford and Oldham and Swindon and Plymouth....and of course their best friends Wycombe. Hmmm.

We're Bristol City, no one likes us, we don't care! :rofl2br:

Premiership fans, unless there's a cycling race on or it's raining, only 6,000 'Premiership loyal' fans can be arsed to turn up then but don't tell them sheeds!

Their season ticket sales might be interesting, for Premiership loyal fans.

Can’t imagine Newcastle fans leaving at half time, even when losing 3-0. We’ve had both Sunderland and Newcastle down here in the last couple of years and Newcastle were far better.

I think this post from ‘Grumpy Old Man’ demonstrates just how little Sunderland fans actually know about football in Bristol (either that or they’ve spent the evening listening to Gasheads bullshit). No mention of stealing the ground when the Rugby club were in dire financial straits (long before Lansdown arrived), Redevelopment plans Nimbied? ?

More like entered into an agreement with Sainsbury’s, failed to do things properly and had their pants pulled down as usual.

To be fair, plenty of Newcastle fans walked out of St James’ Park when they were 0-4 down to Arsenal at HT a few years back - their team came back to draw 4-4

Was chatting to a few of their mob in the Sportsman after the game. Cracking lads. I asked them if they preferred us to the 82ers and they all agreed. They thought our support at their place was brilliant and they could see that we are as passionate about our club as they are about theirs. They had seen the shitheads and Swansea the other week and commented on how amazingly friendly our fans were in comparison. They were surprised when I told them that Rovers have taken 40,000 to Wembley in the past. They though we should be pushing top half Championship at least with such a massive fan base. Hopefully they won’t go up because I’d love another weekend in Newcastle £2.60 a pint! FTG.

Do away fans usually say they prefer the home club’s city-rivals when asked in a pub by a home fan?

Probably not, especially if they don’t want to upset the dribbling moron asking the question. Personally I’ve never been approached in a pub before an away match and asked outright by a home fan if I prefer them over their biggest rivals.

Gasheads are incredibly needy though so I can imagine it’s something they do on a regular basis.

You can just see all the Mackems finally escaping the overbearing clutches of the Clantons and pissing themselves all the way back up the motorway about what a bunch of immature needy bellends they were.

Can you imagine any of our fans fawning over Leeds or Villa like this? I`d give up if we acted like these tossers.

Exactly, I’d be fvck1ng embarrassed as shit to point out that they had taken 40k to Wembley especially just after a game against Sunderland who sold out their allocation yet the bestest most loyal fans ever to been seen can’t even sell out the home end against the biggest club in the division.

Ark at this absolute melt over on Asschat, talking as though they are something special, and as though it’s something to be proud of.......

It was 41,000 at Wembley for the League Two playoff final against Shrewsbury and about 30,000 for the Conference playoff final. The record for an attendance in a League Two play off final is still the 61,589 who watched our game in 2007 and the attendance of 47,029 against Grimsby in 2015 was a record for a Conference Premier match.

No your not as special as you make out Saggie, boast about your records all you want, fact is you struggle to get 8k of those 40k dribbling morons back for a game at Chernobyl every other week.

Ok, so we haven't progressed at all have we, so I must be dreaming  that the pitch and sprinkler sytsem is better than it used to be, the club shop is bigger and more accessible than it used to be, the club house is far better than it used to be, the Former Players Association and the Ability Groups must be a figment of my imagination. I could go on with quite a number of other areas we have progressed with but can't be arsed. Just because we don't have a new stadium or training ground doesn't mean we haven't progressed. Ok, I accept that things haven't improved as some of our fans would like them to but unless someone else comes along to invest a substantial amount of money, and that doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon we have to accept that our current owners continue to fund £20,000 losses every week and continue to pay the bills to maintain us where we are. If you don't like it, lets see the colour of your money to progress things how you would like it FTG !

more Gas magic taken from their forum, the sprinkler system is what it is all about folks.

A club that has spent more seasons since the turn of the century either in League 2 or out of the football league altogether than they have in league 1 and has had one relegation season in the Championship during that period and rattles around in a stadium that would embarrass many National League outfits should be pushing top half of the Championship.......Gaslogic at it’s finest?

No I think you will find he is right and we took over 40,000 to Wembley against Shrewsbury, we have got a massive fan base but all the sh** we have had to put up with stop a lot from going like a sh** ground for one, if the Uwe would have happened I think we would be getting crowds of 15,000 more if we were in the playoffs

Another classic. So moving to a new ground would multiply their attendances by 2? Gas logic at its finest.

Let's be honest though, we'll never find out what a new stadium would do to their attendances as they're never getting one...

Probably got a ‘thing’ for Pirates and undoubtedly needs his hard drive checked urgently by the Police.

Gasheads will ‘hammer’ you if you disrespect them apparently ?

Oh yeah, double hard they are...but only if you’re a minibus, lone female or a dad with his kids inside the Inn on the Green pub.

No offence but are you sure they weren't taking the piss or worried they would get a shoeing if they said they preferred City ? It would be a stupid thing to say otherwise in the Sportsman wouldn't it.

Take a look at the top end of the Championship and consider the size of the clubs there Gurensey FC is getting over 20,000 nowadays and they are just average in terms of attendances - Sunderland fans would know that.

Fact is, taking perhaps 40,000 to Wembley on a one off jolly with loads of non fans is the same as the sh** doing the same. We haven't averaged over five figures in decades so our fan base isn't massive at all.

How the **** does anyone establish a fanbase anyway ? Do you tick a box when you return your council tax form ?

A big club coming to town and patting us on the head and we are grateful for it.... pathetic.

The fourth 'box' from the left looks empty save for a steward or similar taking an opportunity to rest his feet. Surprised that it wasn't sold when it was such a big and important game.

Capacity of the ground is 11,900-12,300 depending on which source you choose yet there were just 10,009 there, 1,408 of which were Mackems meaning just 8,601 15ers were in attendance. Perhaps the rest were 'watching from the movement's ... in Broadmead.
