Ok thanks for that ... was just confused that’s all !

For me I probably hate Swindon more than the gas but that’s purely down the the 14/15 season

I actually dislike swindle more than the sags and all of the shenanigans that went on during our double winning season just underlined that for me.

The sags however are just a laughing stock and continue to be almost on a daily basis. I mean the latest laugh being that their support is up there with Derby, West Ham & Blackburn. Very delusional.

Try asking a sag fan [and they are becoming a rarity] for an explanation or even trying to engage in any constructive debate and in less than a minute one is usually met with the standard response of "shithead"

BP highlighting poor gas attendance. Are they breaking their own code?

Look at all the pathetic excuses...

They’re just not as loyal as they claim to be, but then we knew that already.

the entire fanbase of that club is like some brainwashed cult (the L may be swapped as applicable), where they all believe their own lies.  I’m no psychologist but that reeks of inferiority complex.  Imagine getting agitated about attendances?

If you take away the away supporters, the average home attendance for that lot is around 6,800.

Loyal and true :laughcont:

Not long now....

From that picture it looks to me like if you take away the stewards the average home attendance is around 1,500.

Loyal and true stewards...

Where have they gone? The Bristol Post may have broken with tradition to an extent but stop short of pointing out (as I did over the weekend on here) that our attendances have increased by an even great number over the same period. So........... coincidence?

I am sure that there a group of "football fans" in Bristol, who would go to a game if it looked attractive enough, whether it was red or blue. I think that a large percentage of those are now putting more money into the red side, because of the ground, the quality of football and the overall match day experience. There might still be games at the mem they go to over the course of the season, in the same way as I might go to Wetherspoons for something cheap and easy once in a blue moon, but generally I think they are sticking with quality.

"Six goals, a red card, and a highly memorable overhead bicycle kick from Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris which will be spoken about for years is certainly a good advert for the third tier of English football"

Really?? A rather industrial overhead kick in a 3-3- draw against Accrington Stanley in front of 6500 fans?? Hardly going to be remembered once a long hard winter kicks in and results/attendances flounder.

However, a sublime pass from none other then Matty Taylor for Korey Smith to slide in a 93rd minute winner against Man United in the quarter finals of the cup in front of 26,000 fans and millions worldwide.....now THAT will be spoken about for years!

The overhead kick was similar to Fammys, towards the end of  last season, don't ask me to get the highlights up for you though as I've already forgot what game it was in, less than 6 months later.

seeing as it is a cabbage patch of a pitch, he probably slipped in horse manure and went arse over tit to execute that kick to be fair

Weirdly, I find it completely possible to watch a 90-minute game of football even if it falls amid a 5-day cricket match I'm interested in.

Maybe Gasheads just can't multi-task??

I have tried this on a number of occasions and it quickly deteriorates on their side, turning nasty and generally followed by “F.off you shithead lady garden”.

I also have to agree with a comment from another member of this forum who said that they wear their clown outfit shirts around all day long without any issue, but as soon as they see you in a City shirt there is always some mumbling of “shithead” from them, like you are wearing it just to purposely wind them up rather than show support for your team.

They truly are a bunch of absolute belters.

I've only ever managed to get one message on their forum, relating to my son s disability and our effort to raise cash.

They were very gracious and were very generous in their help.

Beyond that, I don't think I'd bother trying ever again.

So Kerry, I take it you concede that the term ‘loyal and true’ can therefore not be applied to your fanbase as they would rather watch a shambles of an England cricket performance, an England football game that started after yours concluded or stand in a muddy field watching canvas structures full of hot air (no, I don’t mean your home games)

Their next game is Champions League night so that's another excuse in the bag.....

I thought they were loyal and true and would watch them from the pavements etc etc, it seems they have the excuse of cricket now (and not even boob cricket at that).

Balloon fiesta 11th August 2018 - Sags v Accrington - attendance 8,683

Balloon fiesta 10th August 2019 - Sags v Wycombe - attendance 7,668 (and I bet Wycombe brought more than Accrington last season, showing a big drop)

To be honest, other than Ben Stokes the other Sunday, I’ve been glad to escape most of the Ashes, as England have been awful.

Now you can’t be annoying those gappers by using facts to back up your argument. All Roverz attendance figures must be discussed using only Gaslogic.

It's a conspiracy against them, that's obvious to the whole sporting world. To have so many events, whether cancelled or not, going on near the time that they play is obviously something organised by SL in the background. It's what he does, the dirty tax evading she ted. He's got the council planning department in his pocket and he's doing all he can to ruin the new state of the art stadium, because, his team won't be able to compete with them once they are on an upward spiral.

You’ve got to see their claims are valid. They’ve also forgotten to mention that as they were taking on Accrington last Saturday, there were also games kicking off at Fleetwood, Bradford & Cambridge.

No wonder so few were able to make it to the Mem..!

Even if they were getting that figure every week, at least if it was around 90% of capacity, Like Portsmouth, you could still make a business case for a new stadium. But when they are only filling a very small stadium to only just over 50%, there seems to be no justification for it. It's yet another reason for the Council to turn down any plans they might have, but I am sure the deluded few will point to their away following which is totally irrelevant and made up anyway.

More to the point at least 3,000 on average away from their so called break even figure and with the Bury game one less to play at home that figure will be more.

I think the sags are doing a great job of putting themselves down the 5hitter by not turning up, but I expect it will be someone else's fault as usual.

I watched this in Longwell Green cinema and as soon as the Sag shirt came out with the camp pirate marker penned out I heard some Saggies shouting “Yes!” whilst spanking their monkeys inside of their popcorn tub.

So they popped their corn then.

I would only consider going to the Mem to watch a small town club beat the Gas , wearing the Gas away kit and the result meant that the Jolly Rogers got relegated out of the League but we all know that is so far fetched that it could  never ever happen...

:rofl2br:

It’s still the funniest thing ever  in football.

I would have loved to be there for that game.

Although, according to most gas conspiracists, I was, like most of you too.

MasterChef tonight (so I've been told.....) - they will be finding out tonight how to bake a stale pasty

but GBBO is in a tent so they'd feel more at home watching that, although the bake off tent has room for about a dozen people so the big crowd might scare them.

Well past 4 million views of this thread now, not sure how many noticed.

4 million is about the number of worldwide Gasheads isn't it?

We could check how many fans any of West Ham, Wolves, or Southampton exist globally - its pretty much the same thing

We seem to be running a bit thin on Sag material by digressing to whether female commentators should be allowed in the men’s game.

All I know is that anyone who attends the Minimal Tented Village to report on their match and doesn’t blow smoke up the arses of the faithful and true will immediately be branded as a ‘Gert Ted’ and abused in their ‘loved all over the country’ family club manner.

Anyway, let’s get back on point......’Ave it!

Page 20 of today's "Metro"; a Leeds fan applied to become Spurs manager in 1999. His only experience is the game Football Manager.

Spurs wrote back with a rejection letter. He now has a collection of 68 rejection letters and wants to complete a set of all 92 EFL & Prem clubs.

Due to his experience, would he get a rejection from the gas?
