Bristol R*vers dustbin thread

Recommended Posts

I nipped into their online shop, I do like to have a look at different teams to see what tat they sell. Ours is poor IMO, when I was going up to see the Brother in Law who's a big QPR supporter, I wanted some bits to spread around his house secretly. Anyway. I was thinking they have a lot more than us, but I came across this and what with them being so poor , I found this ironic.
Get well soon Bristol R*vers ?

Lets hope they don't

At the risk of getting a big "whoosh" can you tell me where this "dog fetish" thing with Dopey originated, was it based on some kind of truth (however fanciful) or just a random stick to beat the idiot with ?

It came from one of our top class French signings....

Came from Garita didn't it? Didn't somebody ask him to say/tweet it, with him not knowing what he was saying/implying?

IIRC

Garita offered to retweet messages from fans when he first arrived
One of our fans sugegsted he retweet "Darrell clarke w##ks off dogs" and Garita did so without really knowing
The tweet was hastily removed (I presume when someone at the club explained what he had done)
The meme stuck though

Close. Garita was retweeting every single tweet sent to him when he signed. Obviously 99% of them were welcoming him to City, as he didn’t understand English someone quickly came up with the idea to tweet him saying “Darrell Clarke w@nks off dogs” and it was retweeted.

Our official Twitter then came out saying it wasn’t the real Garita account, which was nonsense and ridiculous as it had years of personal French tweets prior, so was obviously his real account, he was just unaware of what it meant.

If @BRISTOL86still has the original photo then that’d be great.

Fair enough, there's very little animosity from our side (although Swindon remain a club I personally don't like very much) but I remember all manner of bitterness in 2004 and later when we bought Greer off you.  Strange as Brighton have always been a bigger club than Swindon IMO (not that it matters).  I am genuinely pleased you've got that nob out of your club though, and I hope Oldham manage the same soon.

Yeah it's a decent forum here (I put it down to liberal but fair moderation), but I will say this sort of thing goes on with loads of football forums.  It certainly does on ours.  Why wouldn't it?

I agree OTIB is a very good forum and up there with the big clubs in the premiership and not just for football but a whole range of topics.

i totally agree Brighton are a much bigger club than Swindon and not much between yourselves, Pompey & Southampton and can still remember Peter Ward scoring for you regularly even though that was in the late 70's early 80's.

With regards to the safe guarding issue,

That's a sad state of affairs and if its a false accusation as it appears to be then the person doing the accusing needs to be sued and banned from ever setting foot in the methane again,

Those sort of false accusations have no place and just makes the police and authorities jobs much much harder,

And its the sort of thing those bottom dwellers would do

Got to say that Henbury (The IT Genius) is one such character ?

Not sure what game Barton was watching it's clear to the neautral that they can't defend and surprised Pitman had the legs to take the penalty?

Has this picture been lifted from a phone box on City Road, that geezer in the picture is clearly one of the local crack heads that hang out in that area?

Priceless ! :rofl2br:

"On a recent occasion on a Saturday morning, a ball hit our gates so hard we thought a car had driven into them''.

"I went out and confronted the players and was passed over to the manager, Joey Barton. I've never heard of him but after a bit of a discussion, he agreed that they would try and refrain from kicking balls into our garden''.

This is in the comments on this article. I know we aren't perfect, but surely this didn't happen did it?

Well I never saw it reported and lets face it, the local press don't need much encouragement to try and put us in a bad light.

Going back to The Quarters, I never realised it was so close to residents, there was always going to be issues really.

Even better:

"On occasions, both my wife and daughter have witnessed players and staff urinating against the hedge which backs onto Hortham Lane. Not nice, especially when they have toilet facilities in their clubhouse.

So now who's taking the/a piss

I just don’t know what to believe any more. This stuff is so good that it could just as easily be made up.

Priceless.

There was something, car windows smashed and someone posted letters iirc.

I seem to remember someone (possibly Barr’s Court Red) put a jokey suggestion on here about building bamboo pits and some roaster reported it to the Police.

Read this in the post article:

"The application also seeks to remove conditions relating to opening hours and open of the site for non-professional use."

So the Sags first team haven't got permission to train there yet then?

I thought rovers got permission on the basis that one of the pitches would be used by the community when Rovers weren't training.

I'm sure their "Loyal and Prowed" fans will be happy with that.

I see the traveling wagon of methane snorting goons rolls up in my neck of the woods this weekend. Sadly family commitments prevent me from visiting the Bescot to take the piss out of Biffer and his geriatric footballing oafs but at least I have enough warning to keep away from the centre of town.

They are already crowing about away ticket sales on the Narnia that is their forum.

At this rate they may need 2 coaches.

There was also mention that there might be less there than normal due to traffic jams on the M6 caused by a junction being closed in Staffordshire?

Walsall struggled to get going in League 2 and took 5 league games to find a win. They then seemed to settle down a bit, drawing with Bradford away and then beating Mansfield at home. Their last game was a 2-0 away defeat to Newport.

They look like a difficult team to break down but have conceded late goals on couple of occasions. There biggest problem is creating chances. They simply don't. Even against Mansfield where they scored 3 they only had 5 on target the whole match.

With the sags unable to hit a cows arse with a banjo this match could end up being the unstoppable shite meets the immovable shite.

If Walsall win by anything more than 1 goal then the sags really are epically crap under Biffer Barton.

It should have 0-0 written all over it

To$$ers can't even sell out their allocation for a game an hour and half up the road. Amazing away following my a$$.

Yet Barton said on RB that the "thousands" that came were the 12th man today.

Why does everyone associated with them perpetuate this myth?

Yes.

Rovers scraping a win at the bottom of L2 has really spoiled my weekend after another encouraging performance for us against a very good side.

******* pounders ?

Truth be told I was actually starting to worry that Wally might find his bollocks and sack the bloke.

We couldn’t sell out our 2K allocation at QPR also.

We don’t make a big song and dance about supposedly having ‘amazing’ away support.

How many did we take anyway? Thought it was about 1800?
Edit. It was 1890.

It was something like 1,890, not thousands, but still more than the "thousands" who followed the Few today. It isn't about the numbers just the fact that they are bullshitting bastards as usual and it spreads from the bottom of the club right through to the top.

The basement League is so very poor, they are only 4 points off a play off spot.

Which is why they will sadly survive another visit to their rightful place in non-league. There is just so much shite in League 2 that they will scab their way out of it.

We`ll always have 2014 though!

Exactly this.

Sag who I work with went to hartlepool away and was adamant they took around 600, despite official numbers saying it was half of that.

Their bullshitting never fails to amaze.
