Just a reminder of that class act and an earlier encounter with Lincoln...

Isn't that the "P E teachers" in charge of Lincoln there? I mean, it wouldn't be like Joey to hold a grudge would it?

It goes without saying that some of their fans are oddballs but there are two that have caught my attention recently:-

One on the BEP site who only ever posts one thing but posts very frequently -"I cannot reply to this comment or I may be accused of being an online bully". Basically admitting every time he posts that he is an online bully.

Another on their forum who is always first to post about goals on the match day thread. This means he must be at the game with something like "FFS 1-5!" already pre-typed in on his phone so he can just hit the 'submit' button as soon as the ball hits the back of the net.

Strange behaviour in both cases, hinting at deeper psychiatric problems.....

I noticed this section was very fast responding to events on Saturday

I'd say we equally have some belters if their concentration was on their game and felt the need to post straight on here

Yes I was thinking the same but its because we know they are watching this thread like hawks.

Belters’ - really ?

WOW

Personally I was listening to us on RB , had Sterling on tv on mute and thought their capitulation amusing

If that’s  ok of course

But your first instinct was to post on a forum where we take the piss out of their obsession over us. Don't try to make out it's just about the Lincoln result there are plenty who can't post on this thread quick enough all the time

As far as I’m concerned it’s a thread taking the piss out of / about  them , full stop

So no it’s just not about the Lincoln result , Like many others I go back longer than you and the intense and bitter rivalry during earlier times , I have no problem admitting that I find it good to take the piss

My ‘first instinct ‘ ??

Whilst listening to treatment of a player at Turf Moor listening on RB , I or someone posts that the Sags have conceded a 4 th or whatever

What should we do ? Wait , out of respect or something , until the City game is finished on Radio before we post ?

As you would be quick to say - Those who don’t wish to or don’t like it can ignore the thread

The BBC's royal correspondent has gone on record to thank Bristol Rovers' supporters for going above and beyond.

Their impressive 90 minutes silence during the game against Lincoln City last Saturday was considered heart-wrenching.

He was nonplussed when a colleague explained this was the norm for every game at the Fewmorial.

Hey Nettie, how's your health? I am guessing your boys aren't helping you feel any better. :(

I'm still fighting - feeling quite good.  ?

One thing I can say about Saturday is that it was an entertaining game.  Shame that some of the entertainment came from our comedy defending!

Aye, George Dixon had a good career seeing as he was shot dead in 1950 in the film, The Blue Lamp.  Another quarter of a century policing as a friendly corpse.

I saw that and thought immediately of D of DG.

I wonder how many recognised it and, conversely, for how many it simply bypassed them.

Sadly I knew exactly what it referred to, even as much that for some reason I know Jack Warner starred in the show!

Is it showing my age to recall that Jack Warner’s sisters were the music hall performers: Elsie and Doris Waters?

No, I didn’t think so either.

They kept the real family surname - Jack Warner was originally Horace Waters!

Just to bring things vaguely back on topic ...

Dixon's mentoring of Crawford was seen from Dixon of Dock Green's first series opener, "PC Crawford's first Pinch", broadcast on Saturday 9 July 1955.

... and just a few months earlier on 05 Feb 1955  Bristol Rovers lost 8-3 to Blackburn Rovers in League Division Two

So nothing really changes (although obviously I looked for their biggest defeat around that time!)

We may have lost 8-3 but the match was so bizarre it could have gone either way, honestly, we might easily have won 3-8 on another day or it could have been 6-6 nobody really cared because the Rovers fans were on board with my barmy solutions and knew I was dangerous when backed into a corner like Charles Darwin.

Back then the nr 83 bus passed Eastville and my Dad claimed that Rovers asked for the service to be renumbered or rerouted to avoid having 83 go past their ground every half hour.

On a serious note people, 2 factor authentication takes about 2 minutes to setup and protects you far better that without. You can even enable it on here.

This is pretty bad, makes you want to adjust the vertical hold on an old telly. What about the disgusting tesco bag rag the mongs wore one year, that was truly awful.

Who knew?!

What was the question here?

As it’s “pointless” and the object is to get the lowest scoring correct answer, can i go for “football clubs with 40,000 taken to Wembley”, as the only ****s that believe they’ve done that is them

Also, Richard Osman has let himself go.

Myself and a few city lads (Cole Skuse included) had to wear these as our away kit when playing for Yate Utd at u9s/10s age group, all because we had Ian Alexander as our manager ?

Who knew?!

Who knew, indeed.

This is a quiz show where 100 people are asked a question and you have to think of an answer none of them came up with, ie an answer that's obviously Impossible, Untenable, etc.

Which means - if the impossible, untenable, pointless answer is "gAsshole fc" - what on earth is the question:

Who really is "The greatest team the world has ever seen"?

Who playzzz in da famus qorterzzz?

Which team isn't a stain on their city?

And so on and so on. Endless possibilities.
