As much as i hate them they’ve done the right thing here.
Engaged with their fans all the way through the process and ultimately listened to the feedback. We got none of that with the stencil robin

Yeah, but we all know what happens when you invite feedback. You get "Boaty, McBoat Face"

Best not to put things in front of a group sometimes.

As one who once drove a 'committee designed' car (Austin Allegro) that had a rectangular steering wheel I concur you are 100% correct.

Not when broken down, which was their usual operating state.

'The Committee' also decided the limited colour options - 'Harvest Gold' the colour of a recently congealed 'pavement pizza'.

A mate of mine managed to get one airborne hitting a humpback bridge on the A356 between Taunton and Williton on our way back from a skittles match. It was, needless to say. a company car!

Barton’s comments today are worth a read….

Thats Johnson Clarke-Harris scoring against them tomorrow sorted.

“Barry Fry is a top football businessman and they have done a phenomenal job at Peterborough with their acquisition of players and then selling them on at a premium further up the chain. They have bounced between League One and the Championship.

For us, we’ve got a slightly different business model. We’ve got a captive audience in terms of a big-city audience and for us I think it’s a good marker post to see whether we are legitimately a top-10 side in the division in the next couple of games.”

WTF is he on about?

Joey Barton has revealed how ex-England captain John Terry welcomed him to the national squad with a classy phone call.

The former Manchester City midfielder’s international career lasted just 18 minutes when Steve McClaren brought him off the bench for a friendly against Spain in 2007.

Now manager at Fleetwood, Barton recalls a phone call from Chelsea legend Terry which left a lasting impression on him after he was named in the squad.

“I thought I should’ve been in the three or four squads before that, so I thought I was never getting in,” Barton told talkSPORT.

“Then I got the phone call from the FA, which was closely followed by a call from John Terry, who was the England captain at the time.

“He was fantastic on the phone. He spoke about what was expected of an England player, welcomed me into the group and said, ‘Look, you should’ve been here earlier but it’s great to have you in the group’.

“It really made me feel at home. I didn’t feel like the new boy on the school playground.”

Terry, now assistant manager at Aston Villa, was stripped of the England captaincy twice following his affair with Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend and racial abuse of Anton Ferdinand.

But Barton, who saw his fair share of controversy during an eventful playing career, still holds Terry in the highest regard.

“Everything I’ve seen about John since, I’ve never changed my opinion of him. I just remember that phone call and I thought it was a real moment of class.

“It was everything I expected of the England captain and it really helped me settle. It was phenomenal.”

Barton was subsequently ignored by Fabio Capello and the former Newcastle man previously told talkSPORT he deserved more caps.

He said last year: “Capello had never met me and at the time we’d just come back up to the Premier League with Newcastle and I believe I was playing as well as anyone in the country.”

But now Barton reveals a drunken incident may have affected his England chances.

“Unfortunately for me, that was the only squad I got in,” he added.

“I actually played brilliantly against Spain who went on to become world and European champions.

“But because I went out, had a few pints and got in an altercation in the city centre, I was never called up again.”

He’s mentioned the 15’ers being a “big city club” in a few of his interviews this season.

There’s a lot of difference between being a big city club and a club in a big city. Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are big city clubs; Millwall, Leyton Orient et al are clubs in a big city - as are we, the 15’ers and Manor Farm.

The inmates in Horfield Prison?  Surely being incarcerated is punishment enough, without being forced to watch the gas.

Hey, don't mock the walnut veneer drink trays!!!!

I`d love to know if there are any Allegros still on the road (not owned by collectors, just being used). You still see the odd Escort or Cortina about so I wonder if any of them are.

I doubt it though!

What a great website! I looked up the Fiat Strada because I remember it being "European Car of the Year". You may remember both the advert and the Not the Nine O'clock News sketch.

I'd like to apologise to the owner for the near-side dent, caused when I overtook a milk tanker at too great a speed on the A350 near Compton Abbas and ended up in a hedge.

Notts County had 16,500 today for Yeovil in the Conference.

Still expect we’ll hear from Barton & that Bristol Live ***** about their “amazing support”.

Age not IQ obviously...

Which,,in the opinion of a few of the more enlightened of our friends over on gas chat is a problem....

Youngsters are being attracted to Ashton Gate for the obvious reasons!

Good win in fairness. Despite what many think they aren't getting relegated

Definitely won’t, but the hype around ‘r Joey’ and what he’s ‘building’ according to Bristol Post/Radio Bris genuinely baffles me. If they were doing what, say, Exeter are doing this season - totally get it. But they’re comfortably bottom half getting gates of 8k. Under Trollope/Clarke I actually admired them from afar, and were far more deserving of such acclaims then than now.

It's strange that none of them EVER mention our support, which can be three times as big ?

The strangest thing is that they have a pinned thread on their forum all about attendances and predictions of them. It's such a weird obsession, I love going to see the City play and it's great there are lots of others there enjoying it too, but I still loved the City and enjoyed going when there were 6000 in the bottom division. How many other fans are in the ground has never swayed my own support.

We may well be in the lower half of the division, but we are good to watch.

My prediction is now Joey isn’t at risk of a custodial, someone will poach him in spring as Rovers are really pushing for top 6.

Step forward everyone favourite, Ian Holloway, who despite much fanfare sees Rovers miss out on the final day.  Next season, the departure of ALL the football operations staff in the summer to follow their meal ticket Joey, makes a right old mess of pre season preparations.

Al Fraudy tries to shore up the squad in Jan with some eye wateringly expensive 3 figure signings and the inevitable relegation follows.

Before they start crawling out from under their 1970's time warp let's put things into perspective here. The fact that Tilson is still their record signing some THIRTY YEARS later tells you all you need to know about that poxy little club.

It's nothing to do with overspending either.

Back in 1992 the average house price was £68,000.

You certainly have much more money than us and have spent far, far more on players.

Just out of interest, in those 30 years since we signed Tillson, how much have City spent and how far has it got them in terms of league position?

Well we can't help our owners habbits. But thats the difference between us. Nearly 17 years of tier 2 football? and what 1 for you? falling out of the football league too. No doubt we should have at least been in the playoffs again with the money spent. However when you compare to the sums spent by other clubs in that division its not even bad.

Whatever we spent enabled us to remain in the league.
