Nice couple if home wins on the Fylde coast.

Even Fleetwood are above you now Joey and Stanley have games in hand. You only have to be in the bottom 4 at the final whistle of the final game remember

Has anyone ever managed to do that?

They’d be the laughing stock of the football league if they did…

So that means Fleetwood must be in what, 5th or 6th to be above Promotion Chasing Bristol Rovers?

The Fewers approach to everything!

If we ignore the absolute nonsense being written as a suggested chant, why are they constantly trying to get ex players and managers to return? Last year must have been the first time they didn't want to re-sign Barry Hales. It's no wonder they never progress when their ambitions seem to be limited to 'well, they played/managed us a while back, wonder if they'd be up for coming back, they CLEARLY love the club'.....

This can`t be right surely? It must be a gurt Ted posing as one of them. Everyone knows that they are the bestest, most loved fans in the whole wide world and would never, ever turn on their own players or manager. Next thing is there`ll be a fake story going round that they spent an entire game shouting abuse at a young, low on confidence goalie.

Some figures

In 2023 so far total home attendances look like this.

Rovers (5 games) 37462 (av 7492)

City (6 games) 111798 (av 18633)

If you add rugby’s 3 attendances of 45792 to City’s figure, it’s 157589.

To add to the total we have…

tonight’s England Womens game SOLD OUT (c26500)

Championship game v Hull City (c19000)

FA Cup Man City SOLD OUT (c26000)

So roughly c71500 to add.

Rovers have no more home games until March.

Add the c71500 to the 157589 and that is 229089

My conclusion

The Mem attendances this year up to the end of Feb : 37462

The Gate attendances this year up to the end of Feb : 229089

The differences in revenue generated must be miles apart.

….and yes, I was bored ?

No wonder the pounders cherry-pick individual away attendances; must be hugely embarrassing for them.

These attendance figures also pay tribute to the value of a Desso type pitch which is still looking pretty good despite the heavy use. It is vital that our academy players develop their touch on good surfaces, including the training ground.

Our ground staff deserve a lot of credit. It’s a great surface.

I seem to recall one of the victorious manager visiting the Mem recently (sorry, there are just too many of them to recall which one) remarked about the ‘difficult playing surface which had cut up badly’ which surprised me because every couple of weeks it’s covered in shit, so I would have expected better.

Nice of them to pay to enter a decent stadium.

Also nice for them to see what a decent stadium in Bristol looks like.

That also reminds me - Must remember to get the cleaning crew in tomorrow....

Yate would probably a good place for them to pitch up the circus .  It’s got a station, it’s expanding massively, is relatively easy to get to from their ever diminishing heartlands, there’s provision for a stadium in the South Glos local plan and it’s miles away from Bristol.

As a Yate resident, you can **** right off with that suggestion!

Rovers head of fales Mr David Dim has today announced the capacity of our proposed permananent temporary wrap around stand has been increased to 4000 and it will be renamed the South West North East Stand.

The news that construction is to be completed in July was met with incredulity by supporters and the Bristol City Council planning department alike but Mr Dim is standing by his story. He told reporters gathered outside the Atomic Bugger on Gloucester Road that  contractors have assured him the minute this season ends he will feel the earth move under his feet and the sky come a tumbling down. Later adding that his heart starts to tremble whenever he hears the words new ground.

It’s an England game so haven’t really got a problem with the flags as they’re supporting England.

Steve Lansdown thanks you for your money of course.

But…imagine being a Gashead visiting Ashton Gate and comparing it to what you’re used to? It must be absolutely soul destroying.

This superb stadium with over a century of history, I hope there were plenty of Gasheads there tonight. You know they  would have been impressed, no matter how much they may pretend they weren’t.

A non-football fan friend was dragged along to the Mem recently and posted horrified pictures from within. Every beam rusty and corroded; exits blocked; trip hazards; wonky electrics; loose seating.

He works in H&S. He's asked someone quite senior to look into matters.

Just noticed that on points west. Would not have thought it would have proved so popular.

Over 26,000 attendance tonight.

Great to see the Bristol public embracing women's football.

Yep great turnout but everyone who went to that stadium should do 12 yrs hard graft in a Siberian salt mine.

what a dumb comment, suggesting punishment for visiting a proper stadium

I bet those sags haven't been to a home game (wherever that is they've pitched up to next) for a long time. It's what they do.

Worrying, I hope we don't play them anytime soon!

Will this be a mob starting from the Cross Hands (which incidentally currently resembles their ground) marauding through the streets of South Bristol whilst under the protection of a requested police escort?

See if you can make sense of this...

>>i certainly am no misogynist but it’s not something i am interested in but fair play to those that do. I could be accused of being old fashioned, at worst as when i see women play what were traditionally mens sports then i find it hard to see them as the fairer sex, especially Rugby. What many fail to mention is that many who once watched the 82, have now transitioned to the rugby and now do not go to the football and i am talking what used to be hardcore fans.<<

Appears - according to this Fewer, that since the Bears moved to BS3, 'many' of our hardcore support now watch them and never go to the football. Obviously, this is easily backed up with the fact that our attendances are well down, and the rugby support has increased.

On that doesn't tell the full story, our support is UP as too are the gates enjoyed by the Bears.

I think it's likely to be closer to the truth that our fan numbers have increased and so too have the number of people who watch the rugby, made all the easier by mopping up the floating support by offering facilities, venue and teams that people want to watch, rather than sheltering under a tent, waiting for the next disaster to land at the Mem.

Amazingly, such nonsense wasn't even penned by a laptop repair man.

I do not know one single person who has stopped watching the Football to then change and go to the Rugby. I know a few who do both who never previously watched the Rugby, and a few who just go to the Rugby who never previously.

That poor Saggie must have thousands of City mates to have found out his "fact" of there being many who have changed. Because I would bet the house on it being completely made up bullsh1t (or he simply knows one person).
