Thanks Rovers for the picture from a full house at a modern stadium against opponents of world class players live on TV.

A media own goal if ever there was one.?

This exactly. The gift that keeps giving. Even their official media can't disguise the rabid envy that dominates their persona. A club with absolutely nothing to offer Bristol. Truly the skid mark in Bristol's pants.

Fair play to them for knowing the name of a book, though.

Perhaps not the biggest surprise that it’s one to look at pictures in rather than actually read.

Only because the title of the book relates to their owner..

I also understand that Blacks have got another sale on, so I’m looking forward to them announcing their new “covered” section of the ground next week!

Yes; they both have a point. The cheap jibes really are pathetic and tinpot and really underline just how desperate they are. The trouble is there's a lot of their fanbase with the same retarded mentality and rubbish like this is food for the morons. No respect. Until they stop this they will never grow as a club.

Hey, Slarti, you're better than that.

My comment had no reference to the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria.

It was a comparison to how crowds in Middle East countries carry their leaders, usually during elections or religious festivals. With hindsight, I should have made that clear.

I am sure you were just making an amusing comparison, and never suggested otherwise.

My post wasn’t directed at you.

When we are ridiculed by a fewer who should really look at the bigger picture.

The last 10 home total attendance figures for them and us:

Us : 198,699  Av. 19,869  Highest 25,713  Lowest 12,145

Nothing wrong with us hating eacother,  long may it continue

Seriously? It’s just football, I think they are sad, deluded, often pathetic and pitiful and definitely worthy of our unfettered derision but I don’t have the energy to “hate” another group of people because they support a different football team…and the more they react to the differences between our two clubs the funnier I think they are.

Edit, just noticed this has already been posted!.

I will have to admit, I have no idea what this is about? Am I missing some kind of pop culture reference/parody in this? As the great Alan Partridge would say 'That was just noise'

He seems to have done one of these for numerous clubs.

A very weird man.

Any chance that Tom will retract his "People's Club" statement now.....unless he meant particularly shady people looking to con their own club out of money.

Maybe the snorting arse should have looked up their huge cup attendance of 4769 before berating ours of 3x theirs against a side we play regularly and had 21k+ against in the league!

Pr1ck.

“Plenty of daytrippers ready to fill it”

Not sure what that’s supposed to mean as we’ve averaged around 20k the last two seasons and spent about a month in total in the top half of the Championship in those 2 years.

We’ve got the sort of loyal fans they can only dream of.

Posted this before but it will be 30 years at the end of this season since they were last in the second tier.

They have absolutely no idea about anything at Championship level now therefore, the quality of the players, impact of parachute payments & how you build a club to be successful to sustain yourself there.

A year after they got relegated we built the Atyeo stand, now by some distance the poorest part of our ground, yet a structure that they can only dream of.

As you so rightly point out, we don’t have “daytrippers” we have built a good sized support, largely because in a modern Premier League standard ground, the experience is a good one.

Also our fan base is pretty young, getting more diverse by the year & has also managed to incorporate a percentage of fans from the gentrified areas around the ground, though admittedly not in the same numbers as the rugby team has.

They’re bitter, small time & an increasing irrelevance, no matter what their friends in the media try to pretend.

Do their fans stay for a week or a fortnight ?

The Announcement - Half Man Half Biscuit

He used to wear Trespass and shop at the Aldi
Now he’s the joker in the clubhouse at Caldy
His hair was receding, his face had descended
Now he’s been up to Rodney Street and had it all mended
He used to walk home with a chop suey roll
Now he’s in Sheldrakes devouring his soul
His mate’s got a six-berth in Kinmel Bay
And for the last week in August that’s where he’d stay
But now it’s a fortnight in tropical climes
Raising of lager and here’s to the times
But a worried demeanour as I went through his turnstile
Was clarified later when I heard the announcement

They really are something else. Putting 12,000 into proper context, this was an early round F.A.Cup match against a team we play every season FFS! Stoke had a similar crowd the other night in the 5th round and that was against Premier League Brighton!

If this was in the context they were alluding to as in a League match it would be 20,000 plus.

Not like them to distort the truth is it.

You have to love their pick and choose stats to suit. It was a lunchtime kick off on a Sunday in the FA cup against a team we have been playing for years. Next they will be quoting attendances in the Carabao cup to somehow justify how great they are....

When we played the same team in the League back in October we had just over 21k. Our lowest home attendance in the League this season is still over 17k.Still, better not quote any of that - even though that poster would have seen it.

Just what I thought, looks like something you pick up off the pavement with a plastic bag when your dog has a stomach bug.

Dietary wise, probably best served with a free insulin injection and a defib nearby.
