Seriously, I think developing brownfield sites is better than using green belt and that affordable housing is always going to be in less desirable positions, but a building that size anywhere near the water system is always going to be a risk. You would think that the history of Coronation Road and Cumberland Road would act as a warning sign for these developments. There are so many other brownfield sites that are more suitable for development, but I think that's for another thread.

He was at a station somewhere, was on the platform waiting and spotted a poster showing beautiful blue waters with a swimming pool close to the water, sun shining men and women scantily clad etc. He was thinking how much he would rather be there when he saw the tagline... I don't follow the rules around financials that closely, we have far more engaged minds looking at Championship FFP and all that jazz, but I'm fairly sure that Leagues One and Two operate under a 'maximum squad salary' system, where the total wage bill can't exceed a certain amount - I think it's about 2.5mil for League One (give or take a few quid). Just had a quick look (it is 2.5mil by the way) and the Fewers have 33 players in their first team squad. That would work out at an average of about £1500 a week - I'm sure some players get more which in turn would mean some would get less. I'd be amazed if most of them weren't trying to support the lifestyle of a professional footballer from that money. Leased car, fancy watch, couple of holidays every summer, designer clobber etc.... I wonder how many of them are on the property ladder or have plans for what they'll do when their careers end. Be amazed if any of them are sitting on a tidy pile of cash, unless like that Sinclair, they're playing out the fag-end of a career that has been largely spent in the higher divisions. The acquisition is at Conygar's discretion and is subject to the receipt of planning permission for a number of development options. The conditional contract expires on 31 March 2024 in the event that a planning application has not been made by Conygar Bristol Limited for the development of the site. So they want planning permission for a number of options or they're buying nothing, just first option. 1
The Gasbuster
Are this Conygar outfit going to build a stadium, and then GIVE it to the 15ers ? I don't think so. Where is the MONEY coming from Wally ?

Nothing has been bought by anyone. £450k for a 1 year option to explore planning permission for a number of different possible developments with no obligation to acquire the land. Even Gas say conditional contract. EP having a stormer by reporting investors bought land while linking to press release which says they haven't. So they want planning permission for a number of options or they're buying nothing, just first option. wow, 2.5 years just to get to that point.
petehinton
Theres jumping the gun and then there’s this, they could potentially make themselves look pretty stupid here. As Rob says, they’ve basically paid half a million quid to give themselves a year to explore what may be able to be done. I couldn’t imagine a worse place for a ground either. There’s absolutely nothing nearby, compared to the Mem which granted is a shithole but has so much to do nearby drinking wise etc.
