Aldridge prior is off again. No planning permission . Why would you build a new stand if you were off in a few years to the fruit market.

Hope. Hope. Hope. Hope. Hope

Basically it isn’t gonna happen, but if I say we’re trying it’ll make me look good

'It takes a Wael' has said nothing, apart from getting a new tent at the Mem! A 3.5k seater tent mind.

Says their training ground is Championship standard, because they let teams train there before they play us and they keep telling him it's great.

FFS, A Gas Head messaged in, asking if they could have somewhere to lay Poppies at the new Stadium.

That would be quite an incredible achievement given capacity was 12,000 only a few years ago

Their training ground isn't even the best field in the lane

This is brilliant. You would never trust this man with a penny having heard that answer.

Geoff T: If there is a new ground who will own it?

Wael: So, these are ongoing discussions and we will work for an agreement that suits all parties

Geoff: What would suit you as owner of the football club?

Wael: Getting a new stadium

Geoff: What about the ownership?

Wael: It depends on the details of the negotiation

Geoff: If you don’t own it will it be a long lease?

Wael: the agreement and the details will come out. Ownership and a long lease are the same thing.

Geoff: What’s a long lease?

Wael: In the tens…um hundreds…of years

Absolutely dodgy as ****. You wouldn’t buy a used car off that man and Rovers are sacrificing land they own to bail him out of a speculative deal gone bad. It’s beautiful to see.

They're all lapping Wael up on their forums.....

Sample post:

"Yes good stuff from Wael tonight, all very positive on and off the field.

What a bloke. And a gent too

He is very switched on.

U p  the Gas, and Up the Wael"

Deluded as usual

So why they wasting monies on increasing capacity at the Mem when they’re saving monies for a new stadium?

The answer to that question is - they're too dumb to see what is right in front of them.

I work in a school, and we had 2 old "temporary" buildings which had been there for 20+ years. We were told by the local authority that they were building us a brand new state of the art building to house both rooms in one building, within the next 2 years.

Those 2 old buildings needed so many things doing to them, but we didn't put any money into them - unless it was something essential like new locks or a water heater - because they were being knocked down within 2 years.

If they're spending more money on the existing pit, even if it's temporary, there is nothing in the pipeline that is remotely serious about a new ground. Also, why increase the capacity, when you're barely hitting the current (reduced) capacity in the first place?

All lip service to keep the happy few on side. They're just too stupid to realise, even after all this time.

It's going to be a 40,000 seater stadium with unparalleled conferencing facilities right in the centre of Bristol that will blow " Trashton" out of the water and enable them to reach the Premier League within 5 years.......and all paid for by the developer in exchange for the mem.

I mean what developer would pass up the opportunity to grab the mem site valued at £20m, and only have to spend north of £60m to build this premier ready facility in exchange............. it's a no brainer innit?

What a time to be alive for Gasheads!

After selling Eastvile all those years ago to become tenants you would've thought becoming tenants once again would be the last thing they would wish, yet here they are with their trusty Knight with a shiny watch about to sell them down the river before he rides off into the sunset or off to Stamford Bridge to watch his beloved Chelsea, and they lap it up like lemmings, Its laughable.

I am guessing that by lowering the capacity (and still not filling it), he is then using the tried and tested gaslogic, to calculate the percentage figure of how full it has been - basically make it up as you go along to suit and sell this nonsense to the fans, who fall for this stuff EVERY single time.

It all just comes back to the same issue, they want a free stadium with a huge lease so the annual rent is as cheap as possible. Practically free in other words, they don't have a pot to piss in.

Which investors are happy to wait 50-100 years for a return on their investment. They could build anything else you would expect on a site like that and make a profit almost instantly.

It's not even a pipe dream, it's just pie in the sky.

I see the Pyongyang Post continue to big it up regardless.

I find it astonishing that they believe anything that King Tin Pot says. How he can continually bullshit his way running that joke football club without anybody demonstrating against this type of ownership is beyond me.

Truth is he got rid of any dissenters a long time ago and there's no one else willing to challenge him. Now he's building a new stand in ten minutes to increase the capacity that he reduced! Its laughable and utterly tin pot.

It's sad really, they are so desperate to sit in a new ground that they are happy to turn a blind eye to little matters like who owns the ground and what the finances mean. It will only be 10 years down the line when they realise they can't raise enough income to compete that the penny will start to drop.

I'd assume that he means as a percentage of the ground capacity (which they've recently reduced for no apparent reason). So by his logic, a team getting 8,000 in an 11,000 capacity 'stadium' has better support then a team getting 21,000 in a 26,500 capacity stadium. It's standard #gaslogic at it's finest.

It's a very similar logic to when they claim that their away support is amazing 'as a percentage of their home support ' which only goes to highlight how bad their home support is.

I will give it to Wally (and the convict too) though, they certainly understand the 15ers fanbase, and play to their delusions on a regular basis.

That’s exactly what it means & is completely misleading.

If Hillsborough can accommodate 30,000 & 25,000 people turn up that’s obviously far better than having a ground which holds 10,000 & 9,000 turn up, but not in his world apparently.

He’s trying to pretend they now need a bigger ground because they almost fill a very small one #gaslogic.

All the Gas need to remember about their supposedly massive and loyal support is that they’ve lowered the capacity of the Mem (which was already a small stadium) and they STILL never fill it.

I don’t know when this came about but it’s all they ever come out with now ?

Never mind the actual numbers, never mind the fact that we sell out more away games than they do…..”Gas away support iz better cos our ******* ome support is ******* shit innit you ******* shithead up dA gaz

Gaslogic.

The only fans in the World who deliberately try to highlight how poor their home crowds are in an attempt to make their mediocre away support look better.

If you don't own the ground all non-football related income will go to the Owners.

Completely unsustainable, this has got Coventry Mk 2 written all over it.

If Rovers want to lease it they will need to convince the developers that they are a going concern. If they went bust or back to non league an empty stadium is no use to anyone, hence the thorny issue of capital and whether it would ever get built.

A more solid bet for the developers is an indoor arena with a wide variety of potential customers rather than a single loss making sports club.

“We regularly have championship clubs training here, and they say the facilities are easily championship level”

A - would love to know what clubs, hardly any in the division would ever need to use them

B - oh yes, most championship clubs have training grounds that require interviews with the media to be done on a bench outside a ramp (with hand painted dark blue rails) in the car park

Going to be fun to see how they get planning permission for a new stand in time for next season. When I say "stand" I assume it's just more temporary seating.

They`ll just apply for one of those temporary permissions that parish council`s get when they want to put up a marquee in the vicarage garden for the village fete.

Speaking after his defeat, Barton questioned the playing style of Moore’s team, claiming that if they and their previous opponents Derby County were ‘anything to go by’, Rovers would be able to bridge the gap and make the League One playoffs next season.

Coming from the same guy who was threatening to resign because the pitch was bad. He is some weapon.

Im sure they can “bridge the gap” to the play offs next season too. Just the….21 points off it currently. Sure that’ll be a breeze to make up in one season ?

How many players will be leaving too, and starting yet again another season with other clubs players on loan. Rinse and repeat....

He said at the start of this season he had a top budget, so why has he blamed his budget on his teams season poor performance lately? It's as if he is such a narcissist he cannot take any personal responsibility for anything whatsoever, it's always the fault of anyone but poor Joey.

Long may he stay and slag off every club and manager he plays against, they are getting more hated by the week with him in charge by more and more clubs.

Bloke who has managed Fleetwood & Roverrz is now giving clubs miles above them who are about 3 or 4 times as big his advice.

He has to be the least self aware manager in the league & the Post lets him spout this deluded shite without ever challenging a single word he says.

We are all devastated because we all know this Stadium is happening anytime soon, and again they will be coming for us.... By the time a new stadium is built for Rovers the majority of their fanbase will have left this Earth, and there isn't many more people left to come through the turnstiles, they are way too late to the party.

It genuinely scary how stupid they are.

The chairman has literally just told them that they will NOT own a ground anywhere for the rest of their existence (which won't be very long after this)....... Gasheads - when your Chairman is telling you that your club will be LEASING a ground - it means you will not own it.

The carnival barker will sell the Mem (are you listening you thick Pikeys) PRIOR to 'leasing' the 'new stadium' - and guess what Gasheads?

That means you are homeless the SECOND that lease runs out - why?

** Drum roll** - because your dodgy owner DOES NOT HAVE ANY MONEY!!!

The FM will 'fall over' - probably in less than 1 year after you sell the Mem to developers.

Wael (he's such a nice man) - will then announce that in the rush 'to get Rovers to the Prem' he overlooked the fact that the initial lease on the Mem was 24 months - or had a clause that it was 'for sale to any buyer with an offer over XYZ'

Then Gasheads - THIS will happen.........

1) Sell ground to developers.

2) Keep sale proceeds in his own bank account

3) Terminate lease

4) Announce (from the safety of the Middle-East) that he still has 'outstanding debts' which weren't covered by his lien on the Stadium, so any players of value have to be sold.

5) Rovers grovel for a ground-share, with a threadbare squad and no assets (even the 'club shop' has been flogged!)

6) Rovers get relegated

7) Rovers get relegated again out the League

? Bristol Rovers FC are liquidated, and sold to Joey Barton for a quid.

8 ) Rover are relocated to Tranmere and called 'Tranmere Rovers' ?

9) Wally sits back in the ME, cashed up,sipping a pimms with Joeybag, and toasts to 'A job Well Done'

1 - 7 are inevitable, 8 + 9 are wishful thinking.

Make no mistake Gasheads - your club will fold within 5 years if this goes ahead.

Actually is was them that compared themselves to Barcelona (although now it’s Boca Juniors apparently ?)

They just can’t help themselves can they?

Even if it is built (and I actually think it will be) it’ll be smaller with zero history and owned by outside company. Sounds plastic to me.

Not sure why we’re supposed to be “twitchy” about that?

Still, Gasheads bragging about things that haven’t happened yet….”it’s what they do

I don't recall any City fan calling us Barcelona. I do however remember a Fewer describing them as the Barcelona of League Two.

Shortly before they got relegated out of the football league.
