I thought this would be after drifting through a few clubs post Rovers. Nope this is his comments directly after leaving them ?

Just listened and even Geoff starts with tens of thousands of gas will be listening and later on the two of them are slagging the new lawn. Nice bloke Geoff but once a gas, always a gas

I thought a slightly telling comment when asked about a long lease was “something that outlives me”

Seen as a funny ha ha joke, but undertones of it are probably “I’ve sorted the deal, I’m hailed, but then don’t need to sort the mess out when it comes to an end”

82ers sh**e forum trying to put a different spin on it, they're turning it all in to negatives, think the Barcelona of Bristol getting a tad twitchy that little old Rovers have exciting things happening

If I am getting twitchy it is because we have run out of popcorn whilst we sit back and see how this all works out.

In the unlikely event it all goes to plan, even if that happens, there is a cricketing analogy which is 'runs on the scoreboard first' - in other words they will go through all this over many years just to get below a level compared to their local rivals.

We are taking notice because it has a lot of interesting factors - local rivalry, overseas money (or lack of), development of difficult areas (the FM, and The Mem) with a bit of football thrown in, oh and not forgetting strangely spending money on a new stand at the old ground.

Crack on chaps, I am off to the shops. ???

Better team lost again today??

18th defeat of the season……..just that 5% upturn that Joey speaks of and they’ll only be 18 points off the play offs next season.

Do you think the loans are starting to plan their return to their own clubs and some beach time?

I see their fans are saying this is their ‘pre season’ period so isn’t a worry. An odd pre season where 13 odd of those players won’t even be there next season. But let’s not do logic

So in the battle between the two teams forever in the shadow of their more illustrious neighbours in red they have come off 2nd best.

If only they could find a team that play the right way, so they can win, or alternatively perhaps they could try getting a shot on target.

One of them over there dared to suggest that they will need to rebuild once their loans go back and it might take a few games to get going next season. Reasonable I thought and just what we`ve been saying.

Surprise, surprise,  he was immediately called a Ted by another of the insecure dribblers.  North Korea is a positive haven of liberalism compared to that place!

Plymouth away next for the Rent Boys. I dislike Argyle intensely (the feeling’s mutual, they hate both Bristol clubs) and hope they make a hash of promotion, but of course I want them to annihilate the Gastards - which I suspect they will on today’s evidence.

Speaking after his defeat, Barton questioned the playing style of Moore’s team, claiming that if they and their previous opponents Derby County were ‘anything to go by’, Rovers would be able to bridge the gap and make the League One playoffs next season.

And thats going on the fact that they didnt beat Derby or Wednesday............"Gas logic"

Actually is was them that compared themselves to Barcelona (although now it’s Boca Juniors apparently ?)

They just can’t help themselves can they?

Even if it is built (and I actually think it will be) it’ll be smaller with zero history and owned by outside company. Sounds plastic to me.

Not sure why we’re supposed to be “twitchy” about that?

Still, Gasheads bragging about things that haven’t happened yet….”it’s what they do

D1ckheads. ?

The Boca comparison is fitting. One play at a stadium called “The Chocolate Box” and the other were once sponsored by “Snack Box”.

Yes, I’m certainly “twitchy” that they might be leaving the Pisspoorial for a new stadium that will be too big for them and likely have swathes of empty seats every home game. ?

This précis of the season needs revision:-

The Gash have cemented their status as the most hated team in League One, as their vile excuse for a manager has made disparaging remarks about every one of their opponents this season, usually resulting in said opponents raising their game to pound his rubbish bunch of cloggers into mincemeat.

If you were a player or manager and seen/read all of his post match interviews this season alone, why would you go there or let one of your players go there on loan? The manager is a massive piece of the puzzle for a player, he must put off plenty of players whilst he's dragging the clubs reputation (we all know they are everyones second favourite club) down further by each game.

What he omits to say is that it wasn`t the s*g result that achieved mathematical safety but Cambridge getting gubbed at Plymouth.

Something which hopefully will also happen to another away team visiting Home Park on Tuesday.

They made sure of their place by losing 2-0 and this is a positive??

Plus they could not have been certain if mathematically uncertain.

Who wrote this parody?

But they`d have been promoted if it wasn`t for the officials, pitches, weather, war in Ukraine, lack of a stadium that can accommodate the 30k fans they have and other teams turning up and putting on a show as it was their cup final.

So Joey says anyway.

The media covering them in recent seasons could be used as a study for English lessons in the use of adjectives and contradictions.

Promotion chasing Rovers or relegation threatened?

6th richest club or little old Rovers?

Membley or a pitch that ruins their passing game?

A lovely new stadium or build onto the old one which has so much character?

All in the same week usually.

They really haven’t got the slightest have they ?

I’m sure he knows a lot more about business than you and I Topper.
You could argue he is ruthless because he ditched the UWE deal as he didn’t get the deal he wanted…. Despite knowing it would be devastating to Gasheads at the time .
As he explained clearly in his interview, that he sees the Gas as a love and an investment. By improving the infrastructure and climbing the leagues losses will hopefully fall and we may even post profits in the future .
If he bought the Gas for ( total guess) £5m
, he’s spends 100m to get the Club into the championship in a new stadium….. how much is the club worth then ? I’d argue a lot more than £105m .

Probably about 15 - 20% of that for a low end yo-yo club. You could pick up Rotherham, Blackpool or Wigan for that I should think.

So are we worth about £300m then?

This interesting article estimates how much it would cost to buy a Football club at each level. https://the-elastico.com/cost-of-football-clubs/

Obviously they've been on the methane again.

What in the Bristol's cocaine riddled water system is that logic?

I've seen some stupid takes - but dear lord. If that makes Rovers worth £105m, what on earth are we worth? -  Someone tell SL to up the asking price pronto.

There’s more, price is going up… ???

At this level at the Mem then I would say it’s a bad loss. He would struggle to get £10m for us.

Our losses are higher because he’s choosing to spend more on us making us a more professional outfit on and off the pitch.

However, get a new stadium, carry on the quarters developments and get us into the championship then I would say he’s looking at a profit and we would be worth around £125m as we would be oven ready for a promotion push to the promised land.

Now I’m not saying for one minute that’s what’s going to happen, but it’s a possibility if you look at the evidence of Brighton, Swansea and Cardiff.

Put it this way, in terms of value, Derby County cost the new owners £40m with an additional £45m to be settled to creditors and the taxman and that was with Mel Morris agreeing to wipe out his £120m debt. That’s with them relegated to L1 with no football management and a half a first team.

A championship club these days is big money with all the right pieces of the jigsaw in place doesn’t come cheap.

Haha, yeah, stupid bastards.

Before Christmas they were touching each other up about the possibility of us going down and them going up. Getting all excited way too early as they always do.

Always makes it more satisfying when they end up bottling it and drop back down the L1 table and we survive comfortably in the division above.

Thanks Slagheads ?

Frost is an embarrassment.

He actually tried to pretend earlier in the season the Burnley defender they had on loan (Thomas?) who buggered off in January to join Barnsley instead wasn’t someone that they would miss, because he had been “inconsistent”.

The total opposite of what he’d been saying only a few weeks before.

They are 2 points ahead of Cheltenham, they way he’s reported on them you’d think they were having Argyle’s season.
