They actually believe that we are twitchy about them 'having discussions' with a developer where they are hoping to eventually come to an agreement where they'll get a free stadium? I listened to Wally on Wednesday and as soon as Geoff Twozeroman mentioned the new stadium Wally's level of 'er, um' went off the scale. It was blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain (as Gasheads are generally at Neanderthal level this is a problem) that he was trying his hardest to sound positive but in reality he could not provide anything concrete as the only thing that is concrete are 'discussions'. Nothing has been agreed and nothing will be agreed. Wally alludes to this by describing the task of finding the Sags a new and free place to squat as an 'impossible task'. Let's face it, it is an impossible task to get a free squat. Even if the developer agreed (which they won't because they will want to get the best ROI for their investors) then Rovers will have to get agreement for a stadium to be built with sufficient access routes in an area which is looking at clear air zones and has environmental sustainability targets to satisfy. Then you have to factor in the nearby residential areas who will have to put up with increased noise level pollution on matchdays, hearing songs about an old granny and every other song about Bristol City. This would no doubt be met with public objection and could lead to ongoing red tape and legal costs. Wally had to say something and so what he has basically said is that the people that Rovers have been talking to have paid a sum of money to take a look at the land. As the developer has made a positive step he has been able to piggy back with a positive statement for Rovers, but absolutely nothing has changed for Rovers. They were 'talking' before and they are 'still talking'. Their intent to swap a tent out with a tin roof at The Mem is a bigger indication (to me) of what is actually happening. When the pie in the sky ground falls though (and it will), they'll be able to say it's ok as at least you've now got a lovely tin roof on the South Stand at the Mem. Gasheads are being led up the garden path. Their future is bleak...very bleak and Wally doesn't want the Neanderthals to turn during his tenure. He's simply buying himself more time to stay liked because as we all know....."These things take time" and unfortunately it seems to be taking a considerable amount of time for the penny to drop with some Sags. Fortunately, us Ted's see it without the tinted specs and delusion. Edited April 24, 2023 by Gert Mare 13

How long before the Women's team get a higher attendance than the squatters ? And does that mean they need a bigger stadium too ??? Not very long if they do ok up in the top division. Remember the Gas announce total attendance, including away fans. There's between 500-1000 away fans at any single League One game at the Mem. So when they say 9,000 attended that's realistically 8,500 Gas tops. In women's football away travel isn't as much of a thing as it is in men's. I'm sure it's growing, but right now away visitor numbers are tiny. So an announcement of any attendance is almost entirely pure home support. So 7,000 is probably only about 1,000-1,500 shy of the home attendance the Gas are getting. I suspect that in the WSL the home games against the big teams could well bring in crowds of high 4 figures. That figure almost defies belief. It is a derby - In the same geographic region, ie what the rest of the country considers populated by “Oo-arrr” cider-swilling buck toothed inbreeds who have unnaturally close relationship with their livestock and crunch carrots (I resemble that remark, although never cared for raw carrots…), and more importantly there is a fair bit of rivalry between the clubs. It’s the rivalry, plus the fact they could actually throw a serious spanner in the PAFC promotion works (unlikely, but there are always ridiculous results at this stage of the season) that makes that number of tickets sold almost defy belief. Be interested to see how many actually do end up going. Anything under 1000 and they deserve shedloads of abuse considering how they’re always pouncing on games up north where we have small travelling contingents. Nothing comparable with Port Vale aside from the fact Snakey now plays for them. Plus given the regional slant it (Home Park) somehow “feels” a lot closer anyway. R*vers, Swindon, Cardiff actually there are quite a few so I'll stop now. But Plymouth are in the group (now at least) that I don't care about. 19 minutes ago, phantom said: Always have from the late 1980's, and then just added to that when they were running us close a few years back From memory when they were "better" than us for a while. 83/84 they got to the FA Cup Semi while in L3, our promotion year from L4. It was nearly always close after that, until more recently obviously.

They can barely manage mid table in League one FFS. They dont have a clue how much it costs to even be competitive in the Championship let alone oven ready to get out of it in an upwards direction. Clubs like Rotherham who they consider themselves a gazillion times bigger than will be paying far more than they do.

Open End Numb Legs
'......tempted to cross the river....' You would think he would swim across through crocodiles and piranhas if necessary. As suggested though, probably just a bit of mischief.

It's in one of the dirtiest, smelliest, rat-infested parts of Bristol. The perfect location for your lot. I would say;

Utmost respect for the travelling fans who go in big numbers and great distances. Know several supporters and they’re decent folk. Indeed, my old boss - who was the best ever (rip) - was a rabid ‘Muff fan and even got a prominent new build industrial unit clad in Plymouth colours as he proudly told me. While they do tend to bully Exeter a bit , they seem ok with Torquay and, generally, seem to have a greater dislike of Sags than us. We don’t though go out of our way to nurture the relationship … the Cherry Tree PH and all that! Come on ‘Muff!
