petehinton
Another day with no signings. It’ll come home to roost at some point, maybe even this summer as they’re currently a week away from having a pre season with 16 senior pros… Youre much better off at Exeter/us/staying at a RTC…or even at Weston tbh. Ryan Jones is a brilliant player they picked up from Weston but tbh I think they’ll stunt him due to lack of quality coaches, Barton won’t play him so he’ll just be shunted out on NLS loans again. I genuinely think they'll struggle this season and Jailbird Joey doesn't exactly have a reputation of developing young players... Well his clubs own young players and they don't seem to be signing 13 players soon. I feel sorry for the person who comes in after Joey because it'll be just like Nige when he took over a complete rework from top to bottom but they probably won't be given the same amount of time as the sags need to be above us no matter what.

I've heard people on here talk about the Rovers reporter, but had never read one of his articles. Talk about over the top. Barton took them down with a whimper, and then managed to get them up with an amazing 1/2 season, which he's never replicated, and was driven by a wonderkid. The way that reads is like some articles on Guardiola and the recruitment strategy at Man City, or some of the articles that look in depth at Brentford etc. Ashton would have loved him to be our reporter during his time. They haven’t submitted it to the council for planning approval. Presumably, therefore they also haven’t consulted the residents immediately behind this proposed structure for comment & how it could impact them. They plan to open it in August 23 ready for the new season and are actively selling season tickets to their lemmings for it. I hope there's a sag out there who can read this, they'll then understand why we laugh at them so much. Unbelievably tinpot.
TheReds
That Post article is mental, could easily take multiple parts of it and rip it apart as laughable. But I do like the one quote here where he seems to be taking credit for Anderson "Jennings’ principles also guided the decisions to bring in James Connolly and Elliot Anderson in January." Rovers or Jennings simply just got lucky with Anderson when they signed him on loan. Due to their brilliant recruitment planning by the likes of Rovers, Barton and Jennings, Rovers were basically ringing around clubs at the end of the transfer window scrounging for any players (not too hard to believe). Newcastle had Anderson and they offered him to Rovers, they said he was an excellent prospect but a lack of experience, so it would be a bit of a gamble if it would work out or not. There was no "guided decisions" to bring Anderson in, unless you count guided into scrambling around clubs scrounging, they just got very lucky due to their own planning of recruitment being abysmal. I think the author means complement, though no doubt the are regularly complimenting each other too. Though Joey is more inclined to compliment himself.

So you reckon "Head of Scientific Research & Quantum Mechanics" at the Slumorial is a fake job?

Given that they were advertising for an unpaid intern to do their accounting I wouldn't be surprised. I don't see Wael running out of money any time soon as he's loaded but yes I can well see an administrative error being made when you're running your finance team on a shoestring. Though tbf I considered applying for the Financial Controller job at City maybe a dozen years ago but the salary level was so far below market wages that I couldn't bring myself to do it. Football clubs tend to run their back offices on an absolute shoestring despite throwing money about left right and centre. And as the saying goes: "If you pay peanuts then you get monkeys."
