In reality a couple of days before the final they had sold between 24k and 25k with over 42k tickets sold at that point. It’s highly unlikely that no Grimsby fans bought tickets in those last couple of days so in reality they didn’t reach 30k and certainly nowhere near the 40k that many of their idiotic fans and management claim. Judging by the empty seats in the top tier, 27k would be my guess. I looked into this 40K myth a while back Basiaclly we know these facts Attendance was 47,029 Between one week and 4 days before teh match TWO seperate sources (including their own website) had said the gas had sold around 24-25K We also know from the report on the Grimsby local paper that Grimsby Town had sold at least 10K So clearly the rovers portion of the attendance was NOT 40K and in reality was probably below 35K

In the other post below it said that 42500 had already been sold and Rovers had sold “over” 24k of those (so basically between 24k and 25k). So 30k is also highly unlikely as well 3 hours ago, IdliketoRogerMoore said: I thought it was about 27k gas 14/15k Grimsby and the rest was given away and corporate! If I remember correctly! Open End Numb Legs
So they took 40k but only 25k watched the football. Always plenty to do in London. It was actually widely reported at the time- by proper media outlets as well that it was the biggest following of any club at Wembley ( stop sniggering at the back) , the reason being obviously because of the extra allocation given. I'm reasonably confident in saying that this record was broken , when Millwall were given something like 48k for a game against Wigan (FA Cup semi maybe?). Thank you all the people who in 1982 contributed to the rebirth of our club. The players were given a fait accompli and were treated terribly- including by some City fans, don't take my word for it, ask people like Geoff Merrick, an absolute legend for your club There does seem to be a bit of a rewrite of history going on now, but at least the players are now being acknowledged.

You're right of course but if they take the club's side they lose all credibility so might as well not exist at all.

Unan
Just after their new signing has been charged with two counts of assault on women, Barton quotes the Carlson Tate interview, is he actually looking for attention now? For context if you don’t know who Tate is. ”Tucker Carlson jetted off to Romania to join Andrew Tate for a sit-down chat at his home on the outskirts of Bucharest, where the influencer remains under house arrest. Last month, the 36-year-old king of toxic masculinity was charged with rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women.” Edited July 14, 2023 by Marcus Aurelius
HitchinRed
Absolutely incredible that Barton should be suggesting that anyone (especially young people following him on twitter) should pay any attention to what that animal has to say. A new low for him, and the club that seems to support him so strongly. Edited July 14, 2023 by HitchinRed

Knowing him, he'll have a watertight agreemeent in place (cleary not drafted by the Sags legal department) stating that in the event of being sacked, he'll get so many millions in compensation (probably). They don't have a pot to piss in, and Wally can't afford to sack him as a result, therefore he does and says what he wants knowing he's untouchable. Meanwhile the morons continue to dribble over him and think he's the new messiah. Long live Scummy Barton.
