Fair few blanks without any comments.....sums up the fanbase.

It seems that they think its all about numbers, chuck in any old shite as long as there is a lot of it - regardless of the relevance.

The one above is a perfect illustration.

Thick as a donkeys dongler.

That is pretty brutal.

I'm not saying 'no' but you have to convince me and until then, you'll be getting nothing.

Not been paying attention and correct me if I'm wrong but i saw a story in the evil post, or whatever it is,  to the effect that the gas started work on the stand BEFORE being granted permission?

what the actual ****?

They do like to pump out numbers that are always incorrect, 40,000 at Wembley, the locked out numbers, home support, away support, 12000 regularly etc etc etc.

I had a look at the planning application site.  It seems as though there has been a campaign by Rovers fans to bombard the council with letters of support.  Unfortunately, most of them have missed the point - i.e. you've got to comment on planning grounds.  Most of the letters of support just say it will be a good thing for Bristol Rovers, which is totally irrelevant for a planning application

The local media seem to use the number of support/objections as some sort of poll as to whether a project should go ahead or not in a sort of ‘the public have spoken’ sort of way.

thankfully, as you say, regardless of numbers, they are only taken into account on planning grounds/issues raised. 99% of the time, comments from the public have no sway whatsoever

There are some double belters over on Gaschat, somehow moaning that not all of the objections are from people in the immediate area and therefore, those should be dismissed, whilst at the same time, encouraging Fewers far and wide to submit letters of support (evidently the same rule doesn't apply),  also the posts that state that Gloucs - on a REGULAR basis - host 18,000 for ODIs... Yeah, because England play white ball cricket there 22 times a season... Oh wait, that doesn't happen. And when it does happen, it's a one-off, usually midweek and in a temporary stand that is removed when it won't be needed.

Its odds on that it will be done on the cheap, so portacabins and portaloos are almost guaranteed.

IF it gets built assembled, it will be shite - as per normal.

That's Santas Grotto & the lovely Club Shop portakabin reused. Just remember to give the grotto walls and floor a good clean to get rid of the 5hit stains and old vaseline smears.

So you know how they use distraction techniques to hide really bad news like, look we’re getting a new stand, or look we’re getting a new ground.

Well they must be getting ready to deliver some bad news as this little rumour has its own thread over there. Look there’s a new investor ?

An 82er mate of mine reckons we may be getting new investors from the Middle East. Just passing on the message and he's normally bang on with stuff, so please don't shoot the messenger.

Just had a look, **** me they are so stupid.

One post said those objecting are the sort who often do so for “humatarium” reasons, what the **** even is that?

Another post responding to rumours of a new investor actually said Wael has said that he wouldn’t want to lose control but he might reduce his stake to 25%.

Incredible.
Did no one in Fishponds ever do maths at school?

These poor souls are on the inside looking out.

Reminds me of the old joke about Fewers found climbing over the wall at the ground. Stewards told them to go back and watch the match...

Wasn't there a Dr Faustus - with blue affiliations - used to post on here? Always quite a funny poster if I recall. Any relation? (Well, obviously some relation, as are all G+++ds, but same person?)

DrFaustus, has been a half decent poster on here and the BBC 606 website in the past, I don't know if he is ITK, but he isn't as gullible or "imaginative" as some of the others.

I would think any investment though might be dependent on a favourable outcome of the FM assessment next year.

What sort of investment are they talking about though?

Cash? Brown envelopes to planning committee members? Or an extra set of allen keys?

I know him, and yes he does have firing neurons unlike most of the Gash orcs. I still have to resist the temptation to dox him for referring to us as “82ers” though. ?

They seem to be missing the argument that would clinch planning consent. Their new mega stand will remove the major disruption caused to local residents by thousands being locked out of every game.

Any Gasheads here feel free to copy this to the planning comments. You're welcome.?

There really is something in the water in Horfield. How are they this dense?

From the Barnsley fans forum, talking about GasChat

”someone on there reckons that they have asked us to switch the home and away games but we have refused, but doesn’t seem to have any evidence to back up that statement”

Doesn't take long to get the measure of them, does it?

This could easily be 2 plus 2 equalling 5 but Steve Lansdown has a CBE so has been to Buckingham Palace therefore King Charles is about to invest in Bristol City.

I'm getting good at #gaslogic me.?

"Right own up, who’s behind this???"

A valid question @petehinton..............whoever posted that on gas shat is a very naughty boy, girl or indeterminate.   Also they are a clear role model to those of our ilk who sadly still have a sag 'mate'.  The above snippet should be introduced into the next converstion with said 'mate' quite early on.  This rumour can only gain speed over on that forum the more times it's dropped into conversations!!   Good luck all.

Sadly, I got banned from the forum a long time ago for innocently floating the idea that I was a Malta based squillionaire gas fan looking to invest in the biggest club in bris!

He is a good mate of mine and as you say he is a sound bloke- though don't ever tell him I said that- He isn't one to spout shite, but I think he is really just passing info on that he has heard.

One of the greatest blokes I’ve ever met. And the Edward Teach guy who used to post was spot on in real life too.

Interesting to see the gas fans getting excited about a share split in Dwane Sports. Saying it's an indication of new investors is interesting. Splitting each £1 share, both those issued and unissued, into 100 £0.01 shares could be something you'd do in preparation of investment, but normal practice is to do it simultaneously with that investment coming in.

That is you create the new shares and then immediately give them to a subscriber. You don't normally bother reorganising your share capital months before a deal - in this case the signatures on the resolutions are from 30 June.

To me that suggests it's more about the current owners thinking about possibly redistributing ownership % between themselves. I could be wrong and they could be doing things in preparation, but honestly market practice is to get the docs all ready and action it all on one day.

They aren’t very good at following procedures, rules and protocols it would seem, so who knows ?

I'd also point out that the company already had 1,000 authorised shares, only 10 of which where issued. Therefore pre-split they had 990 shares ready to be issued, that's more than enough to issue to investors and give them a 99% stake in the parent company of the Gas. Yes you can split those into 100,000 shares, and authorise a further 900,000 (as they've done) but why do that now?

Note they don't seem to have created a new class of share. That would be something more indicative of preparation for investment (although again much more normal to do it on the day that everything else is signed). Often when people invest they take a new class of share, a class with enhanced voting or dividend rights for example (see the Man Utd share capital for the most famous example). Now yes this share split could be in anticipation of a future redesignation of some shares into a new class...but again why do a split a month ago and then nothing since...it doesn't add up for me.

One of their fans has just pointed out, they haven’t released an away kit/third kit yet and they’re away to Pompey on Saturday so obviously can’t use their home kit….surely not a Mansfield type situation again for the 15ers

It will announced in the next few days by their 3 new signings wearing it sat together in their new stand!!

From reading that article, aligns with what @Kid in the Riot has been saying and Wael is sick of finding it all himself, aka is running out of money. Wonder how much of it will be ‘true’ investment, and how much is just Wael wanting his debt repaid??

Either way unlucky da shit, they’re the richest club in the world now :(
