As temping as it is, we’d just be dropping to the level of moderation over there when our fans sign up.   Am sure they’ll get bored soon enough

Lookout for the post on asschat where this poster starts gloating about winding up the Ted's and how we are all raging

When in fact they are entertaining us with new found levels on stupidity, stupidity that makes your average American look like Einstein

Oh dear. Where do you begin with that?

I assume they went on the web looking for a character whose name is Jack or Hunt.

Should have gone for Ethan Hunt, that would have looked fantastic as the tag line they have used in the picture (pushing for promotion) would have been followed with 'Mission Impossible'.

Jack Hunt has been released more time than the hounds on the Simpsons !!

I thought he told everyone he was loaded. Down to his last £20m or something?

There is something rotten about fleecing supporters for information his employer should be making freely available.

He has criticised his goal keeper for not being a team player then makes money as an individual from club info?

I’ve been youth scouting across Bristol & NS for about 3 years now and can comfortably say I’ve never seen a Rovers scout anywhere. To the point where I’m not even sure they have any ????

Probably won’t be popular for saying it but with the signings of players like George Fiend, Jack Hunt and Harvey Vale and with the likes of Scott Sinclair already onboard I think that unfortunately Rovers could do well this season. The team certainly looks a lot stronger than this time last year.

Will be expensive for them too. Got a feeling they are going for it this season will be shit or bust. Hope they fail miserably.

I agree they 'look stronger' when you look at the names. However, it's a bloody long season mostly 2 games a week and sometimes more. The older legs are unlikely to sustain playing that amount of games and older players pick up knocks and take so much longer to recover (speaking from experience). If you scratch under the surface of their best 14 players it isn't good at all. Let's be honest even the top 14 aren't that great.

I'm looking forward to it all falling apart yet again and laughing along with all like minded City fans on here.

Are they doing the loans again? So young players on loan and contracts for the oldies?

It is a risky strategy. It will be important to have a strong squad ethic and not one that splits into cliques. They could easily have the youngsters talking in their group about their parent clubs dreams whilst the oldies are all on the physio couch discussing the merits of schools in the area and how many more seasons their legs will last.

Having such a bully for a boss doesn't bode well for bonding any of them, but if they get promoted then fair enough. We will still have a gold mine of laughs to refer to and their team will essentially reset to bare bones when the loans expire.

It worked for Plymouth to be fair

Maybe he copied their template but more likely signing players in their prime is a tough thing to nail if you are such an unattractive club to join in L1.

The reason I said it is risky is the oldies could easily end up unavailable putting all the pressure on the loaned youngsters. I wouldn't want JB as my boss, especially if the wage bill is as reported, making it a crunch season.

Piss taking aside, they have made some good signings, but if they don't go up, I think they will be in ffp trouble, it seems to be shit or bust this season for them,

Also if they went up, I dont think they would be allowed to play at the mem as it doesn't meet championship standards

Announced the signing of Vale "exclusively" on his own subscriber account.

How that is not misconduct by the manager is beyond me. But of course, the powers at be there will put up with all his nonsense.

It worked for Sheffield Wednesday I guess, but it's not sustainable, and they must keeping their fingers crossed that the oldies keep themselves fit, and/or out of suspension.

I would think that any team with pace is going to love playing against that defence.

Surely more Gene Hunt from Life on Mars? A planet and stadium (term used loosely) with no atmosphere...

....and a manager with thuggish 1970's tendencies?

Number of league starts by Friend last season? 2.

Hunt? 7. Sinclair made 21.

It looks like collecting a lot of veterans on their last payday to me.

They could do better with their squad of loan players & pensioners but in a weak division top six might still be a stretch for the jailbird.

As has been said, good in their time, but now...

We've seen at City (more than once) how veteran defenders who were PL quality in their heyday can be cruelly exposed by fleet-footed attackers.

.

Friend and Hunt aren't first choices - they are cover for the RB and LB positions. The Dad Army's jokes were briefly amusing but overlooked the essential point that, of the likely first-choice back four, Wilson is the only one over 22.

They  play Cambridge tomorrow. The Cambs manager told our local radio he thinks overs will be in the Play Offs this season.

First-choice or not, they'll be soaking up a fair wage, given their experience. Mr AlSaaed will have to sell a lot of KFC at his outlets in Kuwait City to afford what is, for you, quite an ambitious summer's spending.

FWIW I expect your season to progress better than it's started. Top 6 is by no means impossible, although you'd experience a Yeovil-like rude awakening if you did manage to make it up. The second tier is a whole different ballgame than it was in the 90s.

Had a look at their forum to see if there was any support for the Barton ban on the BP. About 50/50. Plenty of questions about why? What have the BP done wrong? No one can say why other than a publicity stunt by Barton and the news is all biased to City.

What do they expect? The bigger and better club will always get top billing, it works that way everywhere.

Sounds accurate reporting to me, would City try to build a stand without planning permission?:-

I think Joey does have a point. The way the teams are discussed. With City it is always a serious business tone whereas Rovers it's always a patronizing, rag bag, plucky under dog and not so relevant tone.

They’re about to announce a new signing… Sags seem convinced it’s the returning Jonson Clarke Harris - with him being contracted and at Peterborough - surely the Tilson would be under threat?!

Nope, another Prem youngster on loan.

The pretext for the ban is apparently the BEP's reporting on the Bright sacking. However, I agree with posters who have suggested Barton is actually guided by his own financial motivations.

If they are serious about top six, they need to sign a proven striker. Otherwise, top 10 would a good season.

That value is becoming a benchmark measure against currencies and inflation. Soon to be quoted by the business news.

At the time of his purchase, a Tilson would have bought you 6.8 averagely priced UK homes.

It now buys you 1.3 averagely priced UK homes.

I would say the two words were fairly interchangeable to be honest, there are many other things that are worse in that statement.

What is your opinion on him cashing in on your clubs supporters thirst for information, whilst excluding the club from that money making stream?

Ah yeah, the lucrative world of the football scout, especially local ones.

There they are, watching schools football, Downs league and non league and all driving around in their sports cars before going home to their mansions....
