Wow that is now 150 pages on a player we didn't sign. 202 pages on a stand we haven't built and 708 on a stadium that doesn't exist. Certainly exceled our selves and don't do things buy halves ( except for the half built south stand).

One of the funniest posts i've seen. Fair play!

I am not so sure, there are a few rumblings from those who might just had a peek at the emperors clothes and spotted they aren't all they are cracked up to be. They are being shouted down by the zealots of course, but not as vociferously as once might have been the case.

Zealots is a good observation. The management of their club seems to be divisive, marmite.

Usually the truth is somewhere in the middle but the polarising effect is strong these days for them.

We get a bit of that on OTIB but there seems to be more of a consensus and I think that stems from an understanding of the eye watering finances of football rather than a blind desperation to overtake your nearest rivals. May be wrong, but that is how I see it.

Of course, it all depends so much on the most recent result which was a good one!

This really does make me think they genuinely couldn’t afford him and had no intention of signing him, just wanted to show the ambition. There’s just no other explanation for something being that shambolic. Surely?

If I was a betting man then I would put my money on this being exactly what they did with their track record.

Miss the deadline, make out that they tried to seal the deal, but in reality they had no intention of actually going through with it.

They know that ‘these things take time’ and whatever line they feed the gullible Sags they know that they will lap it up, worship Wally and blame every other *** in sight.

Some of their fans have woken up to the shit show, but they are shouted down by the neanderthal goons who say they’re not ‘faithful and true’ enough, give it the old ‘Up da Gas’ line and point out how Wally is the messiah who saved them and if that doesn’t work they call them out as ‘Ted’s’ and get the forum to issue a ban.

January will be another failed attempt at getting Harris, followed by there being 'no value in the January window' - which of course will translate as 'well, the top 6 is out of the question, hopefully we won't go down and we might look again in the summer'.

By which point, a third of their squad will either return to their parent club or be out of contract and Joey has to do another complete squad rebuild, which I am sure will see him explain the new bosses that it will take him most of the season to get them to gel, so don't think about sacking him.

I've said this further back. Try to make out the new guy has money to get the fans onside another fake sheikh

Has anyone had any luck in finding out anything about him?
I did a Google search but came up with nothing, unusual for someone rich enough to invest in a Football Club ( loosely speaking ).

All joking aside.
Any Club spending best part of a Million on a Player with no resale value , out side of the Top 2 divisions is rare.
To do so and triple your record fee is unusual .
To do so and triple your 31 year old record fee is mad.
To do so and triple your 31 year old record fee , while trying to build a Stand you don't have planning for is potty.

But still , one decent run and Wael will no doubt be carried down Gloucester Road singing Goodnight Irene .

The BP released some info about him. The summary is he is apparently a business man rather than an immensely rich investor.

The same article I have just found quoted Wael talking about the new stand.

"We're hostage to events that are out of control in terms of just getting approvals or contractors and timelines. You can plan all you want to get what you want done in a month or two but in reality when you come to execute, things get delayed.'

Plan all you want to? Or just not bother?

So he's saying he wanted to get everything signed off and built in a month or two ?
Reality is Disneyland is in a different Country. From when planning went in it would have been amazing to get it done, that's without allowing for a 6 months delay in getting things passed. Then the build ? What the hell did he expect to happen ?

Just noticed a memory that popped up. Their (then) new stand.
The more things change, the more things stay the same.

This apparently appeared on gAsschat explaining the delay in installing the new 'stand'
"The new stand arrived, however the rear of the stand clashed with the pastie hut and the entrance clashed with the toilets. In short it wasn’t measured up properly and was sent back. Needs amending now should be back in a few weeks

Ah right, so the pasty hut took precedence over the mammoth new stand. Excellent work.?

Perhaps it’s just a case of stupidity by the new owner, who knows nothing about football - e.g. 5.00 pm Wael phones him to say he can have a deal at £800k. He checks the piggy bank and decides it’s just about possible. Later he realises it’s £800k + £200k add ons + 3 years salary + agents fee. That’s when panic set in and the cunning plan of missing the deadline was devised

Concourse ??Concourse ?? You do know who you are talking about.
The concourse comes with the New Stand , I don't think they have a concourse in a Tent.
And when I say new stand, I mean proposed new stand.
And when I say proposed , I mean someone mentioned it some time. Not like officially, but definitely mentioned it so not having a new stand is in no way their fault. And even if it was their fault , it was only because someone else did something at sometime to stop them doing a build, or a rebuild, or buy something really good.

Yeah, but the planning permission for their single stand was much more complicated than 500 houses, an arena, a couple of hotels, and a multi-storey car park Also so much more difficult than putting up two new stands and renovating and refurbishing an existing stand.

Apparently..

Not a bad shout there.  I honestly couldn’t believe it when I heard they’d supposedly landed him for 800k.  So out of character for those losers to bid that kind of money, when the Tilson record had stood for so long.

I did wonder if it was more cynical and calculated than that though.  I certainly wouldn’t put it past them to try and con their imbicile fanbase by supposedly bidding big, but with no intention of actually following it through, hence the last minute hitch..

The result is that their bunch of simpletons are now thinking their new invester is loaded, so it’ll be interesting to see if he follows it up next transfer window.

From Heartofgas on their forum who won't hear a word against the club (apparently the process for their new temporary stand is a successful) :laughcont:;

"We don't know 2 of the 3 we f'd up.

On JCH we don't know the reason why it went wrong. It may have been nothing to do with us.

On the stand, how have we f'd up? Would it have been better the board planned to do this next summer? Yes, it hasn't been smooth sailing but the approach the board has taken means the stand will be built as quickly as it possibly could have been. In my book that is a success and I like that approach.

Why do some supporters always seem to jump on the most negative take on every situation and indulge in a rovers flagellation."

Yeah, Pirate Gas has done some further research and has come up with this…..

As you previously pointed out the Al Elmam Real Estate Company website ( www.elmamrealestate.com/ ) was last updated a decade ago and had little evidence of any activity anyway and the Foodco. Website also doesn't reveal much as it seems the small Al Firya Kuwaiti Restaurant has permanently closed (link on website doesn't work anyway) and the other two links to the restaurant franchise chains of Buffalo's Cafe and Quiznos that Mr Al-Saeed owns the franchisee rights to are also broken and unaccessable. I'm still wondering and fascinated to know how they made their fortune and what other business interests they are involved in that enabled them to buy into a League One football club?

“Stick a pony in me pocket……”

I’m beginning to think that the ‘G’ in their much loved acronym is for ‘Gift’ not ‘Gas’. Up the Gift! ?

This guy (Oldie) gets it, but he'll be pilloried for posting it ;

"Yes, it hasn't been smooth sailing but the approach the board has taken means the stand will be built as quickly as it possibly could have been."

"That made me laugh out loud.
An approach which fundamentally ignored the realities of the BCC planning processes, perhaps even the rules?

Let's not even talk about timings.
Nor PR management, nor fan engagement.

I cannot work out whether this growing catalogue of errors is due to arrogance, stupidity or incompetence.
Whether it be the new stand, JCH transfer saga, season ticket delay or shirt branding.
It is tedious to have these issues being discussed time and time again, but who exactly is causing these issues? It's not the fans, is it.
Then we get extolled to shut up and just get behind the team, on the false premise that to be critical is to not be "behind the team" Which of course is complete bo**ox.
Then there is the divine Mr Barton whose teams, under his direction, have barely won a home game since the beginning of 2023. Dare we be critical of that.
Still, the escape from this grim reality is at kick off at any given game when optimism rules, nourished by a couple of Thatchers on board.

Short lived, invariably, as that maybe."

Below is a picture of our garden office which we installed when my wife started working from home.

I looked around for the shed that could provide enough room in that area. Having identified the right one, I then checked with the suppliers the best type of base to use and how much area that should cover.

I then dismantled an old decaying deck and laid that new one. Only then did I go back to the supplier to buy the shed and pay for someone to erect it. Once it was up I worked out the easiest way to put power in (a spur from the garage behind), coated it for protection/decoration and then insulated the walls, a task I haven't quite completed.

My point is, that took 3 months from beginning to end, and it's just a garden shed that required no planning permission.

******* idiots, the lot of them

And that is a very true statement.

Most fans get the club they deserve, there are some outlying clubs where the club is too big to listen, but even Liverpool recognise The Spirit Of Shankley and have made changes because of them.

Loads of people on hear moan about SL, CEO, The shirts, SCAT etc, but there is a recognised route to raise and challenge things.

We have Jerry as an active SLO and whilst there will be countless occasions where things haven't necessarily gone well, you do get a feeling that the club are listening, even if they don't say they are listening.

The Fewers had some sort of Black and Gold protest a few years back, I think that group amounted to one bloke and a knitting machine. If they have an SLO then either they are brilliant as they never reference them, or they don't do a lot. During their non-league/relegation years, all sorts of talk about protest but they never got organised, anyone remember Cheltenham ground share?

The reason their club treat their fans so badly is because they let them.

When I read these posts where it seems they will believe anything placed before them I think about this more and more.

"He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother."

George Orwell, 1984

And this is one of the areas where they fail so fantastically.

If anyone questions the club, the message or the direction, they are immediately called a Gert Ted which is followed by the Eff Off back to Trashton line.

They have completely missed the point of supporting the club. It isn't just about getting behind the team on a match day, it's challenging the club to ensure that everyone can progress. The moment Wally thinks he is losing the room, he pays for a coach to take a few fans to an away game and they are back onside.

It will never change as long as they have these obsessive dreams of being one place above us and a stadium with one more seat than AG along with their fixation that everyone loves them.

There`s more reasoned debate in a state-run coffee shop in Pyongyang than over there.

Just popped over there and it seems they are back to the 6th richest club attitude:-

...... I get a feeling many gasheads can't get their heads around the fact we are no more rag bag Rovers , but are a club that to some extent have money to burn , for the first time since I have been following the club anyway. I think some of us need to come to terms with our new found wealth.

Yep. With no update / progression of the ‘fruition’ of the Fruitihad they just announce plans for a Meccano South Stand and start flogging tickets and the Sags just lap it all up, forgetting all about the Fruitihad and if it will EVER happen. They’re not even questioning what the actual F is going on?!

Then they get in some ageing pros and a controversial woman beater because he’s going cheap and then when the South Stand runs into planning problems they announce that they are after JCH (without any intention of actually seeing it through) to divert Sags from planning a Tote End Aggro assault on any Green Party Member who by default is now a Gurt Ted intent on preventing their progression at all costs.

They just can’t see it and they just refuse to believe it and yet the shit fest is happening almost daily. They are now creating 150 page threads where they almost believe it and then someone pipes up with how unfaithful they are and round and round in circles they go.

The dumb ####wits!

Of course, you could pretend that burying your head in the sand is equivalent to taking the moral high ground, like "Toppergas"

That's "baggins" coming out with that bizarre stance rather than Topper Gas to whom he is replying.

Baggins is their forum's sexual deviant, I don't think that we have one of those. Maybe they have different forum software.

It smacks of being terrified that someone will actually find out the `wealth` of their new overlord and discovers it is lacking one vital component - actual cash.

A bit like we did (in about five minutes) with Wally.

Was it a coincidence that you called out their deviant shortly after @Rudolf Hucker had posted? ?

Apparently he is involved in contracts with the US govt / contractors for 'security apparatus' for middle eastern countries. Very small time.

This from a mate who works for Australian govt.

Bolders & Baggins. Wasn’t that a kids TV programme during the 80’s?

Baggins was a Badger who has now been displaced from his home because Rovers started building a Meccano stand without the appropriate planning permission.

No wonder he isn’t happy

No facilty to cater for disabled away supporters at the tinpot dump - Wigan aint happy.

TBF some of the tinpot supporters are calling the club out about it.

Disgraceful imo.

Wigan SLO;

I've spoken to Bristol Rovers today, they are working hard to find a solution. Options are limited but they will try their best to cater for disabled and those who want seats. IF there is a way, they will let us know in the next 7 days. I will keep you informed as info comes in.
