Good luck ?

Well done mate. Beating at home a team that was last in the top flight 10 years ago, went into administration (and were nearly relegated to L2) three years ago, and who still have a transfer embargo.

I'm not crying about narrowly losing away to a team who were in the PL last season, who are top of the Championship and still have loads of full-internationals playing for them.

It's all relative, as it always will be to you bunch of sister-shaggers.

Was talking a few Argyle fans walking out in midweek, they were saying they had realised already that the step up is huge.

Both agreed if you haven’t played at this level for 30 years now you simply don’t have a clue as to the brutal, relentless nature of it.

If they want to get excited about their occasional League One wins that just sums them up.

Had to chuckle yesterday afternoon, I was checking all the scores on the BBC web page and they had all of L1 below a huge number of Scottish Cup 1st round fixtures, teams and places I had never even heard of. About right.

I think you're overestimating the interest in Bristol Rovers and underestimating the following for Camelon Juniors v Civil Service Strollers.

Oh, and they were dancing in the streets of Civil Service last night!

Why is the roof so steep? Assuming it’s down to the poor quality of the stand / the physics behind it. I haven’t seen a stadium built without a flat roof in decades.

Apparently they are adding solar panels to the roof (help placate the Greens?) Assuming the back of their "South" stand is roughly South facing, then an angle of between 30-50 degrees would be optimal for getting the best from their panels. It could be a nice earner for them on a building that size they would be looking at 100+ panels. With a good battery system they could save a fortune over the life of the "temporary" stand.

Interesting to read the hearing report.

And there was me thinking it was just the fanbase that was deluded.  Maybe it is and the club themselves have realised this so just release what they want knowing they'll just eat it all up for breakfast!

Blimey, no wonder he got fined.

If anyone hasn't read it, in summary, the Argyle media guy was filmling in the corridors near the home dressing room and was allegedly called a "gay ****", "a bender", "a creepy ****" and "a paedophile" for doing so.

I can appreciate that using "blues" and "lose" to rhyme was an absolute stroke of genius for your knuckle dragging hordes of brain-dead gastards, but the first line of your non witty ditty would suggest you're in a state of depression when your team's just won and your rivals have lost.

Absolute whopping belters.

I'm waiting to hear Civil Service have had points deducted and been kicked out of the Cup for improperly completed paperwork. 🙂

All joking aside; The Champions of the Highland and Lowland leagues have a chance to replace the bottom team in Scots League 2. Several Highland and Lowland teams though lost to teams from even lower down the pyramd.

Apologies, I have not followed this that closely - has this been confirmed anywhere as factual?

Oh he has, see Silvio's post above 🙂

Just sent him a hook too - see if he nibbles

Sorry to query something potentially very obvious

I'm assuming Katie Mangan is his wife, was she there as a character witness or as she was there when the incident happened?

She did not want to miss out, as every other other Rovers hearing/court case has had the wife in attendance also.

Really surprising to see that Mangan & Barton are close associates of lawyers, isn’t it?

Wonder if he also represented him when he was found guilty of those betting offences?

Reading the transcript this comes down to interpretation of his comments, so hardly the vindication that the jailbird suggests..

Good pal of Joey.

Didn't he represent JB in the alleged assault case (not the one with his wife, the one with the opposing {German?} coach)?

Think it was the other way around. I think Barton used the Manchester KC for the tunnel assault and de Marco did the one with his wife.

It's confusing when there are so many.

I like Nick so I hope he just does it because Barton is such a reliable source of regular legal fees rather than a "good friend".

And, it would seem, in successfully reducing his suspension for his betting offences.

Nick De Marco represented the professional footballer in his successful appeal reducing his suspension from football for betting offences.

I knew there was a hint of a foreign name in JB's barrister, but it was, in fact, Simon Csoka QC.

Can't get enough fans to sign up for their piss pot so have to get players & staff to fill the numbers 😂

And they will still be in with a chance to win 10k. So the club pay the players, the players put a few quid into the academy then if they did happen to win, take 10k out of the club?

2nd Sept 1939 was the last day of the 39/40 season. Here's the results;

image.png.592ecc9d6b7235131f28dee14c3255ff.png

n Div 2 Bradford Park Avenue appear as plain Bradford whilst a Div below, Bradford City appears in full. Similarly in Div 3 South, Bristol Rovers appears in full whilst City are just Bristol.  Back then we knew Bristol means City!

Would appear they’ve signed Chris Martin then.

Bet Adrian Mariappa is programming his Sat Nav for BS7.

After Jack Hunt & now Chris Martin looks like jailbird Joey is trying to collect as many of Nige’s castoffs as possible.

Clearly have no idea what Chris Martin is/isn’t capable of these days 😂

Really excited by this, bit of a no lose situation in my opinion, he could even end up our JCH signing without the price tag.

Good luck Chris, make your mark wearing the famous quarters.
