Truly curious what a lot of you think. Martin has now scored 15 in 20 starts (25 games played), a goal every 120 minutes. Meanwhile Clarke-Harris has only 6 goals in 14 starts (24 games played for Peterborough). Do people think that Rovers' huge oopsie moment at the end of the August window might have ended up being very favourable (Martin outperforming JCH and signing for free, wouldn't have happened if JCH had signed and saved iirc £750k), or do you think that it's a lot more complex than that (Martin performing well now but overall play iffy, 35 years old so we might rely on him next season and he might not perform, JCH's poor performances hugely impacted by having to stay and big confidence shot etc.)

Very different players, I think JCH might add pace and movement to a team, where as Martin is clever with decent touch and always had an eye for goal. He just never had the engine for Championship football any more, plus I'm not sure we utilised him as well as we maybe should. VFM you'd see it as it as a good "buy" , but even if he stays another year you will probably have to get someone else in to rotate as at 36 it may be a step too far.
How many players will you have to bring in next year? ( OOC & returning loans ) is it something like 14 to stay at the same size squad ? That may have some say in if he stays or goes, or other offers.

Tbh he's kept Rovesr away from the relegation battle pretty much single-handedly but he wasn't 'free' as such, his salary will be probably the highest in the squad. Good luck to him, he did Ok at City. Could he still get goals in the Championship? Well he got 4 from 16 games in a truly dire QPR team earlier this year so not out of the question but it would have to be from the subs bench.....

City women will be hosting Spurs on the 24th of March in the Super League, Rovers meanwhile are getting all excited about hosting Liskeard Athletic, with the chance of being promoted to the same level as the likes of Keynsham and Larkhall.

Mind the gap

Same shit they always say, “city spent loads and if we spent the same we would do better” well you don’t have a new 40 odd million pound stadium for one so hard to compare.

Also do they forget how much the likes of Derby, Boro, Reading to name a few spent to NOT go up.

Blimey, found this lurking on page 3.

Surely a sell out today at el estadio de memoria

Chance to see Max Bird in action, so If anybody’s got a stream I’d be grateful.

You would think they would, just had a little look though and still hundreds of tickets left.

For a club who are apparently desperate to move to a bigger stadium, you'd think they'd sell out every now and then...

I like that they seem to have stopped saying about their great support , now they are keen on a bigger stand for away fans . Will soon be getting big crowd if they can offer half the ground to away fans.

Best thing that happened to them FFS , North Korea style mind control couldn't do better.

Of course , you can't get rid of players and stay in a Division, you have to get relegated, it's the Law or something.

Perhaps they could use the new stand for home fans and the rest of the ground for away fans.

They might even get 10k every now and then...

These two posts sum up their mindset and the reason the gap is in the 20's. They can easily claim they would "do better" with the same resources we have had.

BUT because they have had crap crowds for 2-3 generations they don't have that kind of money. If their fans actually started turning up at home and selling out their little ground they might progress.

Unsurprisingly for a City player, it seems as though Max Bird is injured

According to dcfcfans forum 'just been told Max Bird is out for a month'.

We all know how long a month is injurywise for our players ...

In addition to that, they haven't seemed to realise another huge problem.

The vast majority of kids who follow a Bristol based football club now follow City, and Rovers are doing very little to attract younger fans.

If you were a dad without affinity to either side and wanted to take your ten year old to watch football this weekend it would be 2 pounds more to go to City in the family stand than to sit in Rovers' family stand.

That's 2 pound more for a better quality product in better surroundings with better refreshments and an all round better experience.

If you then decided to get a season ticket for next season and were unsure about which way to go it would cost £150 pounds more to get one in the Rovers family stand next season, and that's without a free shirt for your child.

If they don't get their act together and realise their attendances are only going to drop over the next decade they'll slowly die, a new stadium won't help with that.

It will be great to have him back fit for the start of the 2025/2026 season!

Yep.

I've just got through the first half of their game. Awful. And that's coming from someone used to low quality football.

The L1 standard looks bloody terrible if Derby are automatic promotion contenders.

Ok, let’s get one thing straight for this thick as mince Gas sizzler…

Getting relegated to L1 for us would be pretty shit but it’s not something that hasn’t happened in the past and not a single City fan thinks we’re too big to go down.

However:

Nothing, absolutely nothing, will ever be as embarrassing as getting dumped out of the entire football league, at home, by a team wearing YOUR kit, a week after Gasheads were all celebrating staying up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nice to see those horrible ****s get back into the  losing habit; makes our current trials and tribulations that bit more bearable. :)

Couldn’t even pull in 10k for a big club visit. 😆

So 8.5k home fans for one of their biggest matches of the season.

Doesn’t strike me as the sort of crowd a club who need a 15k stadium would get…

Build the stands and they will come...unless

* The Rugby is on

* It is raining

* It is too hot

* Babestation is on

* Lidl are doing 10% 0ff

* 3pm Saturday KO, interferes with family life

* Not 3pm Saturday, we want the traditional time

Or could it be they haven't got much of a support base 🤨

Don’t forget a bike race! They can’t get to the football if the cycling is on…

So, they`re off to Fleetwood tonight. A bloody long way back after the likes of Jack Marriott and Jayden Stockley have torn them a new one hopefully.

They`ll probably have about 150 there which, to be fair, is about what we would take too but no doubt it will end up as something like 900 after g*sflation.

Just put the game on my fire stick. They have about 100 there!!

Fair play to all who went, ridiculous journey midweek.

But for a club who apparently have such great support, this is quite something...

It’s a about 5 miles further than we travelled to Ipswich last week for a game that was televised on Sky and they were taking the piss out of us for taking a load more than THAT. 🤣

Reckon we took more to hull back in 2013 midweek on sky when we'd already been relegated.

If it wasn't for the fact that they believe they're some huge club it would be acceptable...
