Nosing at the forum , there’s a thread on this , and a few are seeing through him

https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/537042/mark-ashton-signing-autographs-today/#35

Could be worse, it wouldn't surprise me if the wannabe had a load of signed photos in his pocket next time. He's not football staff, should be nowhere near the pitch. The home boardroom and director's box are his domain at an away game. Never saw a CEO in those sticker books you could get, players and at most the manager. He'll be getting a suit sponsor and a centrespread in the programme next.

* I understand ‘Churchman’ from their forum held the queue for autographs up , for 35 mins as he wanted 51 autographs (One for each of the family apparently)

Just about to post the same thing. Still in favour with the majority, but the geneal feeling of him being a saviour is starting to change. The David Brent comment got me.

They`ll learn in time and I hope they still have a club to support at the end of it.

Mind you, he`ll be long gone before it all collapses as it inevitably will.

The way the Americans are , and the s*** that they lap up , he will slide off to the States

.......and will become CEO for the MLS in 10 years time

I must admit when he got his foot in the door at the EFL I thought he would end up blagging his way to running it - maybe they saw through him in time?

Pension Fund not releasing much in the way of transfer funds are they?

Suspect he’s feeling the heat again.  Free transfers, re-contracting Kayden Jackson.  Hopefully it’s because McKenna has targeted them, but when you see them trying to rid of the keeper they signed last summer (Hladky from Salford) but insisting on a fee from Aberdeen, you realise financially they went mad last season.  Now Aberdeen have picked up Roos from Derby, so they are stuck with Hladky as back up to Walton.  Looking forward to who will want Pigott on £10k p.w. I think he’s alright, but they overpaid for him.

You can actually see it can’t you - There’s people , that lap b****** up like nodding dogs, in many walks of life

In my career I saw a fair few bluff their way up and up

And the Americans are absolute suckers for his type

How do we know the fans asked for his autograph? I imagine he goes around autographing whether invited to or not.

It`s like the scene in Naked Gun where Frank gets off the plane and thinks the cheering crowd are there to see him when it`s actually Weird Al Yankovic they`re waiting for.

From a fan who spoke to him directly

————————————————————————-————————————————————————-

Spoke to Ashton before the game today, said we will sign 2 or 3 more, but not any ‘big money signings’.

His words were along the lines of “you should see our wage bill already”. Then almost alluded that Celina won’t be coming back and saying “it’s down to whether he wants him, or not”.

Edit - speaking about McKenna regarding Celina

————————————————————————-————————————————————————-

Well, there’s a thing Mark...... ?

Interesting the tractor boy focuses on our likely reaction to him showboating like that , but do they really think it's a good look for a CEO?

And, autographs aside, what was the worst signing MA made while he was here?

It wasn't an autograph he was signing that fan to a 10 year 100k a week contract

When are those cuckoos gonna realise he only joined them because he had been found out/almost ruined us?

I predict Ipswich never progress above midtable League One, and his next move is somewhere like Bradford for another 'exciting project'

The cuckoo is Ashton surely? Taking control of Ipswich's home as if it's his own. Preying on the vulnerable.

Kasey Palmer, without a shadow of a doubt.

£6.5m (fee + wages) after a very avearge loan spell. In a position that we didn't need another player in (Paterson & new signing Symodics there already).

25 games played in his time here, awful just awful.

Engvall was also appalling, but on completely different financial spectrum; and of course we got a larger fee back (probably) for Engvall than we did for Palmer as well.

It wasn’t only the big money signings that were the problem. It was also the vast number of low / low ish money signings that cumulatively cost a fortune over the period he was here.

Have no idea what this is about. Made I laugh though

It is a superb accent, isn’t it?

Never hear anyone on TV with either a Suffolk or Norfolk accent but I think it’s great.

Reckon he's just about to punch the mirror...

I think he's more likely to kiss a mirror, if he's going to punch anyone it's the person that stops a deal going through where he gets to scrape off 2%.

Can’t sell him…wages too high…is the unofficial story behind this one.

I actually think he has something about him.  Hope he does the biz for Pompei.

My tip for the division.  The Cowleys know what they're doing.  Pack was a great signing and I bet they get a tune out of him.

I bet Ashton has completely overpaid on wages for the new PA to the CEO on the bases that they will be able to get a dreamed up massive transfer value at some point in the future, maybe, perhaps, as long as they dont run down their contract blah blah

Of course, but what I meant was:

Who is Tom Ball?

Why have they changed their official address? Wasn’t it Portman Road before?

I think the change of address is for the company called Gamechanger rather than for the football club company…..if that makes sense.

Noticed in the digital programme for tomorrow's game that Isobel Mitchell is back working for City as "Robins High Performance Centre Operations Manager" after following Mark Ashton to Ipswich to take up the role of "PA to Chief Executive Officer" - appears she was there from June 2021 to April 2022 before returning to Bristol.

Less to mock Marky Mark about currently with Ipswich doing well, but my ITFC supporting mate did send me a picture of Ashton doing his traditional celebrating fistpump on Saturday.

He looks like a bulldog about to come.

Is there some issue with hair in East Anglia? The guy with the camera looks OK, but WTF is that highlighted thatch / weave on Ashtons head!? The kiddie on the left seems to have some sort of medieval design, and the less said about that ginger abhoration the better! (Is it a sleeping ginger cat?)

A bit rich coming from a baldie mind... ?
