Get paid a bucket load to live and work in Rome? There's not even a decision is there? Go immediately. Buy a flat on the Piazza Navona, get a Vespa, get really into espresso and that square cut pizza they sell by weight. Training runs around the Circus Maximus. Gelato. Get aways out to Tivoli, Lago di Bracciano and the Apennines.

Just go Tammy. Get out of London. Have an adventure in the eternal city.

Someone’s been reading the Lonely Planet guide to Rome.

Really please to see Tammy doing well and get a standing ovation after his 2 assists. Yes there's that small connection (loan) to us, but I personally think he is a very talented player and I'd like to see him succeed and go on to some very good things. Possibly not quite at his top technical ability just yet, but I'm confident that will come with time. I just hope (like a few of the other young English talent out there at the moment) he doesn't blow it on cars, girls, and trips to Dubai and stays focused on his career.

Anyone who likes to appreciate good goals, just tune in and see Romas second goal tonight. Catch it from the beginning. Great play from Tammy.

the verdoute finish was like an arsenal goal when they were good. And tammys goal was a rocket! Great to see!

I got a few I could flog him, bargain at £50,000 each ?

He's got to spend that goal bonus on something.

Honestly though, he looks like he's having a lovely time. Assisting and scoring goals on the pitch, and posting some enviable vistas on Instagram off it. The highlights from last night are a great watch for him. he's showing all of that fox in the box style he had when with us. A great pass for Roma's second at 1:10, and then his own sweet first time strike finds the net at 1:40 for their third. He honestly looks like he's been part of that team for years.

Good luck to him there, sounds like he's made a great start- will make sure I watch a bit of Tammy footage in due course.

Read he got a Standing ovation on opening game? Strong start for sure...

See above.

Fair play that is some performance.. if he carries on in that form i’d much rather him in the England setup than Patrick Bamford to be honest.

I think you have to caveat this performance with the fact it was against a newly promoted side who had lost their opening game. Salernitana are also phoenix club, the current incarnation of which was formed only 10 years ago apparently. So look, this is hardly the Latin derby or a game against one of the old dons of Serie A. But still, he's now played well in both league games so far, and that first was against Fiorentina.

Calvert-Lewin has just pulled out of the squad though, so perhaps Abraham will be called up?

For me Toney should have been called up instead.

Not sure if you’ve seen much of Tammy this season but he deserves this call up.  Wouldn’t mind Toney over Kane though considering these are two easy games and we all know what Kane can do. Toney has been better than Watkins in my opinion as well

Odd view imo. He has played 7 premier league games in his career. He is a year and a half older than Tammy. They are both playing at a top level in the country they are in.

However, Tammy has 89 premier league games under his belt already. Has already been part of the senior england set up. 17 appearances in European competitions. With a similar goal scoring rate but with nothing below championship level.

Not saying Toney isn’t great. Not saying Tammy is better. Just saying they have had similar starts to their seasons and that Tammy has more experience at a higher level.

Plus he is playing and being effective in a league renowned for having excellent defences.

Another on the list of , couldn't make it or get a good move here ,so move on and become a star abroad. Some have done it younger , but seems a trend at the moment.
Be nice if he got a start for England.

Arsenal certainly wanted him and it was reported that Spurs and Villa were also interested but Chelsea weren't prepared to sell to a Premier League club.

15 in 29 league games - that’s some going in Serie A.  Dzeko and Voeller, two Roma greats, both took longer than that to get to 15 in their Roma careers. And he doesn’t take penalties. And it’s his first season.

And the Roma fans love him.

The official Serie A youtube says 13 goals this season including saturday's game (5/03/2022). Maybe cup goals on top take it over 15. Anyway, latest goal here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWYgIb87v-g

Thanks PSR - I didn't realise he was taking pens now. Must be quite recent. I know they missed a couple earlier in the season, so must have given hm the job!

Sorry Sleepy - yes, it's 13 (trying to type, in a hurry, on a phone!). Plus 1 in the Cup and 6 in the Europa League I believe, - so that's the 20 the OP referred to.

Never been but it’s on the list , from what I’ve seen it’s beautiful and has amazing grub!

Don't be seduced by the pizza though, that's for the South of the country.  Its decent without being spectacular Rome or north.  (food wise, pizza has been my only disappointment on 3 Italian visits, but as I've been told by friends from the South, "in the North they don't understand pizza)

It is beautiful and the food is very nice.

What surprised me, though, was how small it is compared to London or Paris.

I mean that in an entirely positive sense, in that you can easily get around the whole city by foot.

I have visited on several occasions and, apart from airport transfers, never had need for a taxi.

Oh, we did take the underground to the Vatican.

Couldn't agree more,  absolutely lovely City

It's been too long since I've been. Had tickets for Italy v Wales in the Euros there, obviously 2020 got cancelled and then I couldn't make the 2021 date. Gutting.

Ah it's great, as @PHILINFRANCE says the centre is very walkable.

With no idea what type of person you are or what your holidays look like I'd recommend a morning run around the Circus Maximus, coffee in Piazza Navona (can drift into surrounding alleyways for beers as well), and just walking the streets around the Pantheon.

I love the place. Its hot, and busy, but it is also unique and wonderful.

Cheaper than London or Paris as well!

Rome can obviously be very hot, depending on the season, and, of course, can seem extremely busy - some of the driving is a sight to behold - but it can also be very slow.

You mentioned coffee in Piazza Navona, but I recall many an afternoon in piazzas whose names I have forgotten, where even a few beers took a very pleasurable hour or more - just the time necessary for my wife to finish her second ice cream, bless her ?.

Italy is lovely in general, I did a top to bottom of it in 2012 with the wife, I recommend it to anyone, the football clubs are insanely big the San Siro is huge it makes the Emirates (Wife's a Arsenal Fan) feel like Yeovil Town.

Batistuta (possibly my favourite striker of all time) and Montella. That is some company to be in.

Yet Tammy wasn't good enough for Tuchel from day one. Much better to pay £90m to have Lukaku lumbering around.

Just think, if they hadn't spent that they could afford to pay for their next flight to an away game.?

And why not, people laughed when Johnson described him as someone who wanted to play football rather "be a footballer". From day one here he looked like someone who would play the same way if he was in the park across the road, any proper football fans will love that enthusiasm.
