I feel like a few people have forgotten just how awful we were last winter. Those last couple of months under Holden were just dreadful.

I wish you hadn't reminded me?

Come on ! My stream works now finally for the second half.

I hope we get 3 points today. And maybe we get an approach of keeping the ball more and don't let them attack that much. Come on !

Not much in it really, worked hard, looked decent enough and maybe on the balance of play slightly fortunate to be a goal up, opposite of Swansea really.

looking like what we are, a solid enough mid table team that will win some lose some. Given where we are, will be delighted with that.

Great first half by City.  Good defending good movement forward.  The left side looks far sounder with Baker and Pring.

Three cheers for Nige in terms of team selection and the blending of a side.  Looks far better than recent seasons.

That's a pretty decent first half against a team like Cardiff who ask you a lot of questions.

Had a good spell in the middle and Martin and Weimann causing them lots of problems with one dropping / one spinning.  None of their 3 CBs want to go with the "dropper", dos we get a bit of space.

Got to say the ball rarely runs for us, a couple of real 'nearly' moments.

Lot of hard work needed second half, can't let Cardiff have a spell.

Pring bloody excellent so far.

Another enjoyable game to watch. It is such a change . Cardiff are a real handful, but we are doing our work. They have had some good chances but we are fighting hard. When we go forward we look like we can pull them apart at any time. What I also note this season is that it is hard to pick out poor performances in the side, everyone is doing their bit. Not a hope City are going to be anywhere near a relegation battle with the application we now have. So good to see the players playing as a team and working for each other.

We are men this year whereas last year it look like we were watching a kids team play in the wrong league

Weimann has 3 already in 4.5 games

Trouble is you just know that given a more straightforward chance in space on the edge of box or just outside, he will lean back and blast over the bar. That's why he will never get you more than a dozen over a season.

Agree, we are much more workmanlike throughout the team and immediately look to go forward. So often last season it looked like we had no idea what to do with the ball and generally settled for going backwards or square.

Big 45 minutes coming up, the next goal will be critical.

I do think a team is a reflection of their manager. Under LJ we were a small team often technically good but equally often bullied against the big teams. Under Pearson we are much more aggressive and physical and whilst we may be more direct I actually find it much more pleasing on the eye than the constant sidewards passes we were subjected to

Should imagine Pearson will work on his composure and finishing. Who knows he might hit 20 this season?

But warning signs there with Bents having to make 2 neat saves in last 5 mins to keep our lead, we have to stay switched on.

Be fair though; if City were losing, you'ld want the Cardiff keeper to have made at least two fine saves for them to stay ahead.
