Lanterne Rouge
Following on from the thread about best ever away games, what are your worst away days following City? for most of us of a certain age it will no doubt be May 2nd 1990 but what others? swanker
Man City away in the 1st Div. We lost 2:0 and it was a nightmare before and after the game. Derby County as well. 1960maaan
@Lanterne Rouge , yeah that one Walsall play off Final, again obvious , but I did laugh after . 5-0 humping at Bradford ( I think that was the week before getting hammered at home by Wolves) 5-1 at Blackpool, 4-0 at half time, one mate left and went to the Pub. Actually turned into a great night out despite the football. 3-2 at Swindon . 3-0 down at half time, we were shite and it rained, we were in the open end and everything was wet. We left early as we were shit and England were playing. Then England were shite and lost. Oh they go on and on, One I will add, West Ham. 0-0 under Osman. Looking back I'm amazed I kept going to home games, let alone away games. Never been so bored watching football.

Grey Fox
Ipswich away, the season we made the play off final , that match with Hull. Wife moaned I was driving too much and I should go by train. Drove up, couldnt get a ticket so walked back to the car to listen to the game on the radio as all the pubs were shut. Lo and behold, the local commentary was Burnley vs The Gas. REDOXO
Some shocking away days. Some as in the 70s you were there by the time it was called off. The one that still gives me nightmares is Forest away in the cup. 1/0 up with 5 minutes left list 2/1. The dodgiest penalty in history given by a homer ref. Wallace scored in injury time. At least the four Forest fans that decided it was a good idea to come in our end and take the piss got the living shit kicked out of them. Worse day for them I guess!! The Swan and Cemetery
2 hours ago, Mike Stone said: Molineux, any game featuring Steve Bull Yep, we always used to play a high line against Wolves, usually approximately the edge of their penalty area. As a result the whole game, it seemed like a lot more than one half, was watching Steve Bull bearing down on us before he lashed home a volley/half volley (he was definitely of the David Kelly, min 3 goals a game, vintage). Remember a Freight Rover/Leyland DAF midweek game with the South Bank threateningly (not sexily) whistling at us and we still had that underpass to come.

tin
For me, that 7-1 second-half capitulation at Swansea took the biscuit. We conceded on the stroke of half-time and folded like a pack of cards after the break. I remember trying to leave the Liberty after Britton scored their fourth only to be told to stay put as we were in a bubble. It was a slow death and the demise of a legend.
