Alex Scott he dives when he wants ?

Remember the days when Jurgen the German joined Spurs and introduced the English game to the art of diving. Much to the distain of proper fans. 20, 30 years later (how long has it been?) and that is bloody nothing compared to the crap that goes on today.

2 words: Francis Lee.

In other words, we were well versed in the art of deception back in the 60s and 70s.

Edit: Fevs, beat me to it. Standard.

More on topic, what was Martin Scott’s song, back in the day?

To the tune of

Bach: Orchestral Suite #3 in D Major.

That should do it!

We need him to keep it up for 90+ minuets not just 17.

Here we go:

You could hear his boots pound as they raced across the ground,
And the clatter of the defenders as he dived and almost went to ground.
as he galloped into the box, his robins badge upon his chest,
he said he came from Guernsey, and is the best midfielder in the west.

He comes from Guernsey, (Guernseeeeeeeeeeeeey)
Alex Scott’s the best midfielder in the west.

Sting has a song called "what have ye got. The chorus goes

What do ye got? (What do we got?)
What do ye got? (What do we got?)
You've got nowt. We've got nowt else.

What do ye got? (What do we got?)
What do ye got? (What do we got?)
You've got nowt. We've got nowt else.

Why not change it to

What do ye got? (we got Alex Scott)

What do ye got? (we got Alex Scott)
We've got nowt. We've got nowt else.
What do ye got? (we got Alex Scott)
What do ye got? (we got Alex Scott)
We've got nowt. We've got nowt else.

Here's a link to the song

Glad you enjoyed!

As for the Ernie / Guernsey song….it just doesn’t translate to a football chant unfortunately (fortunately!)

Ales Scott is a simple name but not an easy one for an original and catchy chant it seems.

Oh Alex Scott (Oh Alex Scott), running round the pitch.

Where are you going with your fetlocks blowing in the wiiiiiind?

I want to shower you with sugar lumps, and ride you over fences, polish your boots every single day....and take you to the club dentiiiist.

There we go, job done.

The grown-ups’ Sunday newspaper, The Observer, has an article in today’s edition ‘Ten EFL players to watch in 2022’.  Alex Scott is at number 5.  He’s started to be noticed…

Hopefully not too noticed - would like to see him with us (alongside the other Academy players) develop over the next couple of years….

He got battered and bruised today, but again showed maturity and influence.

For the question 'how do you stop an England U19 player?' then physicality will be the go to option on the list for most clubs

I like that he has an edge himself.  It’s why he copes at his age at this level.

Thanks for that.

I had read previously that Forest’s young forward, Brendan Johnson, was the son of former striker David Johnson, and had just assumed that the media were referring to the old Ipswich and England striker.

I have now read the article and, more relevantly, seen a picture of said Brendan Johnson, and realised that I was thinking of a different David Johnson ?.

I wasn’t posting for a cheap laugh @Davefevs.

I have never seen him play, and I genuinely assumed it was (Ipswich) David Johnson’s son.

both were Ipswich.

The ex-Liverpool and Ipswich man is 70.

His dad is the ex-Man U, Ipswich and Forest one.

On the subject of confusion…I’m pretty sure his name isn’t Brendan
