Barnsley Sack Manager

What’s the point though in a way? After selling players Barnsley are a poor outfit on a very tight budget, will very likely get relegated whoever is in charge and all you are doing is paying another manager to get them relegated plus gardening leave to the one you should have left in place to get them relegated.

He had a win percentage of 6% , I’m pretty sure I could win 6 out of every 100 games as a championship manager.

Are Barnsley’s team similar in personnel to last season’s play off team? I know they lost Mowatt who was influential but I don’t know much else about their squad. Either way, they were a shambles compared to how they played when they beat us 1-0 after Holden left earlier this year.

Didn`t we get two at Stoke? Nathan Jones as well as Gary Rowett? I think there`s been one or two others in recent years too.

I've a feeling that's 2 for Barnsley as well. I seem to recall a previous manager got the push some years back, might have been the manager at the time if our 4-1 win at Oakwell with a Roberts hat-trick (but I could be wrong)

The only team I'd have put money on us managing to win against at home, would have been us...!

I can't remember the actual match, but I do remember 3 of our players scoring at the Gate for us to lose 2-1.

At least we got a consolation goal.

That's a shame, to me they didn't seem too far off getting back on track.

Playing such a high defensive line is suicide, all it needs is one good ball and a runner not getting caught offside and the opponents are in on goal, as per AWs first and Wells blown chance. Crazy tactics.

Sacked for being what 2 points off where they can possibly hope to be. No chance of top 4

Yes, but lost to Manure and didn't even register even a shot on target at home.  Who on earth would allow that to continue.  Oh wait...

So, so crazy, they got to the playoffs last season? ? and their manager last season employing exactly the same at West Brom.  It has massive tactical pros.  It has its downsides too, like any tactic….but executed well it’s very tough to penetrate, especially with a sweeper keeper.
