Coventry City away match day thread

About to explode, but there were some good bits of play today. The trouble is, it's the basics. The lack of closing on the edge of the box is a farce, so many crosses, so many set pieces. Well done Cov and Mark Robins. A VERY brave performance with 10 men. Pass and move, the bl**dy basics. We can't pass for sh*t and that's coaching folks. An utter farce.

Sack Pearson, bring in whoever want.

It really won’t matter.

The squad created last year is complete rat shit.

Yep, feels like we are stuck with this until the Jan window at least - and that is if Lansdown realises he needs to magic some spending to buy some professional football players.

I think we know the manager is often the easy picking though :(

For me - I'm Pearson out- right now and have been for some time

Coming to same way of thinking, was right behind Pearson joining, but the standard of football lately is as bad as anything seen under Holden.

We can't keep possession for more than 2 or 3 passes even against 10 men!

Clueless use of subs more or less every game. I know NP wasn't there but CF was his pick and got them so wrong today.

Absolutely dreadful. Against 10 men and we looked like we were a man down.

Something has to change or we will be playing Forest Green on a level playing field. No offence to them but let that sink in, same level as Forest Green.

Pearson out,we have to try something.

There are no excuses today. Poor defending at a corner when we have more players than them from Kalas and Bentley have started the slide today and then Massengo isn't in the same postcode as the player he should be tracking. Players are letting us down here. It feels like the club is being run into the ground by an incompetent Owner who got hoodwinked by a ******* charlatan and had the cheek to tell us all we got it wrong whilst he was at it.

Get rid of Pearson, I’m sure Steve has another amazing plan ready ?

A billionaire owner for 20 years ?

I just loved the way they attacked us with 10 men - always with at least one spare man - and how we had noone to pass to half the time. When you didn't think it could get any worse, City always manage to exceed expectations. Abject.

Bollocks. Not being able to pass the ball is lack of ability, **** all to do with coaching.

No we didn't.

Yes, we did. Apart the last minutes we were OK in the second half, one of their goal was a gift by the referee, we had chances too. 2-2 would have been the right result. We were lucky against Barnsley, not  today...even if Coventry played better.

That being said, we knew it woukd have been another tough match and that we have weaknesses.

I honestly believe we have an ok squad but they are mentally pathetic. Being in a lead scares the shit out of them. We need to bring in a sports psychologist or something. We are barrelling down the league with a manager who is clearly struggling to cope. Make the change, and let the rescue mission begin ASAP.

That is unforgivable. The support we had today deserves better than this turd on a stick of a club. Can we extend the international break because I don’t want to see Bristol City fail at playing football again for a very, very, very long ****ing time.

Players, coaching staff, owners - hang Your heads in collective shame. Bunch of helmets.

I'll tell you something, I'm not far off the stage where I turn round and knock it in the head until the Guernsey tax exile ***** off. That might get a lot of criticism on here but that's where I am, like it or lump it.

Johnson regularly had us competing at the top end of the table

He also lost 8 in a row. We’re nowhere near that.

It’s not Lee Johnson that I hate per sé, it’s his favourable treatment that I can only put down to nepotism.

If NP gets the same level of favour as LJ did, then maybe I can let it go a little.

If we could knock the ball about and work half as hard as they did with 10 then it would be an improvement.

Coventry players on probably half the wages our lot are on and absolutely ran us off the pitch and worked till the end. Full credit to them they probably deserved to nick it at the end.

We deserved to lose based on how we started that second half, never got going at all unfortunately. How many chances bar the goal did we have against 10 men by the way? Martin had a shot that went wide and I can't remember much else.

So poor.

It’s difficult to blame Lansdown for things going wrong with Pearson when 99.9% of the fans were elated that Pearson joined us.

I think the point is more his track record over 20 years...which doesn't exactly inspire confidence when it comes to managerial appointments!

In better news, a very mature performance from T, kept the ball moving and was disciplined. He just needs to learn how to defend our box now (as do they all). Mother the goal, as Johnson Snr used to say. COD did well, should keep his place. Good energy and crossing. It all turns to sh*t on the edge of our box. It can be coached and improved. I see nothing in our current coaches that is addressing that. Martin did well, but that 2nd just beore half time would have been crucial. Mentally, they will be shot to pieces now.

I spent 77 quid on a shirt and shorts for my 5 year old on Tuesday before the shit served up at birmingham. & now this. I want my money back and to advise my kid to support anybody but this shower. 45 years of following this utter under achievement - and the last 18 months are the worst of the lot. High performance centre - my arse

What plan has actually worked In the last 20 years? Theyre the same as the previous 20 years.

Who actually appointed Cotterill?

Yeah, you could just see how it was shaping up. Full back to centre back, centre back to centre back, then only to play it back to originating full back... and lose possession. Show some balls and try to create something positive and moving towards the target!

For large chunks of the second-half we made it look like it was us that had ten men,  not them!

What an absolute spineless, pathetic bunch of so called professional footballers we have at our club ?

Playing against Man City with 10 men I could accept… but not Coventry City. Coventry totally deserved that win. That worked tirelessly, and showed levels of determination that we could only dream of from our players!

Like I said. We are one of the favorites to relegate. Hull and Cardiff will come back and go over us. If we are lucky we will get a 20-21th place playing till the last 2,3, games to survive.

A small team, a small club and a stupid owner. If we get to league one, we won't come back soon. I won't watch anymore, I will just look for the scores. I am not paying for this ugly shit.

Come on Bristol Lady !
