Popular Post BS4 on Tour...
Just realised he has switched allegiance from England to Sierra Leone and he is in their squad for the Africa Cup of Nations - I thought he was a very classy player with a huge future when we had him on loan - his well documented battle with alcohol, gambling and depression obviously had a significant impact on his progress. It’s good to see he has got back to playing football at a good level - I wish him well and lots of luck ... 16 1 1

I`ll keep an eye on them then, looking at their squad they`re not going to tear up any trees but it`s always nice to have a BS3 connection to cheer on. Wasn`t it Sierra Leone who Leroy Rosenior played for too?

BS13 Robin
When Caulker was with us he was being touted as a future England captain in the mould of the great Bobby Moore, such a shame he found the fame tough to cope with.

He was different class. Shame it didn’t work out that way.

Real shame thought he looked classy. We also had Danny Rose at the same time who in my opinion didnt look that great but look how his career blossomed,as someone once said "its a funny old game"

Yep - and as our esteemed owner shares the same initials as the country represented by Steven and Leroy perhaps he could chuck some funds their way to help them progress - after all, he is the only authentic billionaire football club owner in Bristol ... steveybadger
Always makes me laugh when another player well out of our league doesn’t sign a new contract/ is out of favour / Mark Ashton talks him up and suddenly some naive soul on here suggests that player as a transfer target however unrealistic it might be. Anyway, wass reckon? Ex player maybe not on super wages / may want to return home to a club where he played well? I think he's made it pretty clear in the past that he puts alot of his troubles down to the way he was managed & looked after (or not) during his time here. Young lad, away from home, on good money, left in a hotel room with no guidance - as I recall, from a previous interview of his..?

Good to see he’s got his career and more importantly his life back on track.

Either way good for him hope he has a good tournament

Yes, I remember something along the lines of he was put on his own in an apartment in Bristol, surrounded by bars and casinos, too much temptation.
winsaw
Really happy to hear he's turned his live around was always a good player for us, I was one of the many sure he was going to go on and be a star for England, I wonder if the lack of care we have him has stopped other prem clubs sending there young talent our way ,
