My word he’s found his shooting boots. Really enjoyed that performance. Someone on the other thread said his power reminded them of Ade Akinbiyi.

Certainly becoming a real handful. Well played son. Well played.

That was me! Antoine has some fantastic attributes.

Dare I say Vyner did ok since coming on apart from the late free kick

I agree, but he shows some naivety in his game that needs to be eradicated or he'll never make it at this level - simple things like getting the wrong side of the attacker.

Hopefully Pearson's influence will help like it has with some others.

Looking like the real deal pace power and now a real goal threat gave the cardiff defence a torrid time this lad is going to be some player well done lad

A player worth building a team around. Need to hold on to him for as long as possible IMO. If we can't, it's imperative that we get top $

Semenyo was MotM. Poor old Flinty didn’t have a prayer.

Hit the post twice played a part in all three goals. The kid is worth a lot of money at the moment.

Pearson is building a team in the image of the Leicester team he built and more power to him.

Flint will be having nightmares about him. Centre backs nightmare

Yep was saying that throughout the game to anyone that would listen. Was unreal today. The power that man possesses is unreal. His shots are hit with some force. The 1-2 with Martin was superb. Really enjoyed his performance

A goal really would of topped off another good performance.

I said last weekend he seems to have improved all areas of his game by a few percent.

The challenge now is bringing it all together on a regular basis. More goals and assists to come i think.

Really like him as a CF and he fits perfectly into the side.

He was probably having an off day until he then went on to another level maybe 60 minutes in. He was a nightmare for that Cardiff defence with those high balls over the top as they left space in behind.

I think it was pretty obvious he would be one hell of a player when seeing him last season. Not really sure how lots were not getting more excited by what he could do. How much he had improved from 19/20 to 20/21 season. He's now continued that development further. And I expect he will only continue to improve.

I think he's our best presser. He is so quick and so strong. He doesn't just make the defenders hurry up and get rid, his pace and strength means he can get to the player as they clear it, leaving something on the player or getting a touch on the ball.

People have criticised his finishing and of course still work needed there with that chance that he should have gone across the keeper.

But he always had one hell of a shot on him with either foot. I think he hits it harder with his weaker foot than most of our players do with their stronger foot. Was never too worried about his lack of goals and missed chances.

I also like it that he can press for 90 plus minutes. For very physically strong player who puts in one hell of a shift, he keeps it going.

He is also a very intelligent player. Improved massively on his game understanding and decision making from when we saw him a bit lost 2-3 years ago.

Always thought he'd be a prem player. That might be sooner than anticipated which will be a shame to not have him another year after this one at least.

He has talent but he needs to do it consistently and not over a few games. Hopefully he gets a good run till the end of the season. Talk of the Prem is a long way off for him.

I agree with man of the match although would be harsh to take from Martin after two very well taken goals.

I’m excited when AS gets hold of the ball, wicked pace and power combo. Over the moon that we’re being rewarded for the patience and game time we gave him.

Great little interaction between Nige and Antoine when he made a mistake in the first half. Nige telling him to look at him and asking him what that was all about, while smiling/ almost laughing I might add, followed up with a “come on” . Good bit of banter but exactly the type of coaching this lad needs. Not getting on his back for making errors but giving him a subtle little nudge in the right direction.

There’s definitely more to come from him if we can keep him fit.

Granted I wasn’t at Fulham last week but that was a real sit up and take notice performance from Antoine today. Pace power composure. He keeps that up and he’s going to be some player.

It’s just the composure / finishing that’s missing for me. You can see he’s not been academy schooled (and in some ways that’s an advantage). Really exciting player though.

Agree he could/should have had a couple today but even the two he had that hit the post and the side netting seemed far more controlled than the pot shots he was taking 6 months ago. Also played AW in for the third when maybe previously he may have tried to get a shot off himself.  I think this could be lift off for his career.

He's always had the raw attributes. Confidence, fitness and nailing down a position has resulted in those attributes being used effectively. Well done to the staff and Semenyo for that.

I imagine Nige is probably an incredibly good manager to have develop you if you have the raw attributes.

Semenyo can be the player to highlight what Pearson is bringing to this team.

A player being coached in the right way, and being allowed to express himself.

That was some performance from him today!

A new contract would be the icing on the cake.

Just made me look up when it expires:

Next summer, but we have a 12 month option in addition to that. So effectively, this year plus two more.

I would be keen to avoid our past mistakes and try to tie him down for longer to keep the 'premier league vultures' away.

Perfect time to secure him for longer whilst he is one of the first names on the teamsheet.

He’s finding those positions now and learning how to make get the best of attributes.

Progress. Just like the rest of team.

As a club we created an awful situation, but I believe Pearson will sort it our and start our progress.

As @Davefevs regularly says, Pearson might not be the manger who gets us there, but he will sort this cluster **** out.

There’s probably some good room to do it too. I don’t expect he’s anywhere near a high earner. The random websites quoting salaries seem to have him on 2.5k/week.

Exactly, now would be the ideal time. His stock is only going to continue to grow.

Even in the current circumstances, we could likely increase his salary to around £7k p/w, and additional departure would support that.

Would certainly prefer that we secured his future long-term, as opposed to a new signing who would likely demand high wages.

This is why for some time I’ve insisted that he needs to play down the middle (somewhere).

@JonDolmanhe was quiet most of the first half, agree.

Got that little ricochet second half on the halfway line under the Dolman, and he was off.  He sparked everything, all we had to do was get a ball bouncing around their CBs and he caused all manner of problems.  Linked well with Martin second half too.

My only bit of annoyance is that he might actually become a bit better than I thought ???

He’s always had that in him. Said it for ages. He hits a ball so cleanly off both sides - like nobody else we’ve had for a long while - he just needed to add a touch of composure and decision making on when to shoot.

His strength and running power have given us a new dimension and we can actually play further up the pitch now as opposition defences are wary of his pace.

I think his finishing can improve over time but even without goals he offers so much.

The second half today was as exciting as i can remember at AG for a long time. We could, and probably should, have scored 2 or 3 more.

A special mention for Vyner, Kalas and Pring who handled Cardiff's physicality really well.

He needs to learn composure from the finishing of Martin and Weimann. He doesn’t need to try and break the net.

I was going to post exectly this. Just needs to calm down when though on goal and not try and break the net That said turning into a fantastic player and certainly brings a different dimension to our team at present. Pace and power - Well done Antoine keep it up, he been great since coming back into the side. He is an exciting talent.

He will learn from all these games. For example the run in the second half he took the ball to far to the right side of the goal (from his view). He will get to understand that if he had veered to his left, it leaves him a much better angle and chance of scoring. That subtle move got Chris Martin his second goal.

Better with him in the side than without. More dangerous too.

From his return to present he has started to offer some much needed end product ie goals and assists to go with his attributes and promise.

Think the timing of his recall from Newport 3 years ago stalled his progress but fortunately we are now seeing some strong signs.

Agreed, although why he should lack confidence is beyond me,he’s got pace ,power and brilliant balance.

Worth listening to Gary Owers post-match summary on BBCRB…..said Semenyo almost snapped the post, and the earlier shot on the turn a,most broke the keepers hands.

Thing is he generates so much power without needing to blast it.

How many times have we seen an opposition striker bully us…now we have one.  It’s mint innit!
