Coach 1

It's been a, while since I travelled by coach and I mostly went on coach 2 (Jerry's coach) but when I travelled on coach 1 it was fine. Yes it had a higher average age and the regulars liked their fixed seats but they'd offer drinks and snacks too. Coach 2 had a younger average but also had its regulars some of whom could be seen in the same seats for each trip.

But what happens if I sit in a regulars seat, do I get ask to move?

I'm getting this coach for the first time. I usually get another coach as Coach 1 would usually be sold out, but I'm sure it's the same as any of the other CATS coaches ?‍♂️

Have they mentioned the initiation ceremony ?

Have you ever been out with a group of mates, sat in a pub, doing your thing and had some random loner come along and plonk themselves down at your table...?

That will be you on Saturday..!

Truth is, coach 1 is a bit of an enigma for most because you can't get on it.

These people travel the length & breadth of the country watching City - so you'll have a shared interest. Be polite & respectful of the fact that's its you ntering their domain & I'm sure you'll be very welcome.

Plonk a wireless speaker on your lap, blasting out the greatest garage anthems of 2021 & then probably not so welcome..!

It would be my last choice as mode of transport to an away game - but you'll be fine.

Good luck..! ?

Anyone experienced coach 1 , I'm on it for Saturday, any tips, I understand members have they're same seats for every away game,

I've only used Coach 1 the once. Tuesday April 14th 2015. Everyone was in a great mood for some reason. I was even given a free can of Coke!

I travelled regularly on coach one for a few years in the early to mid nineties.

I used to sit directly behind Beryl most of the time and she used to give us all the latest gossip. You certainly knew who her favourite players were (and weren't). When I first started the steward was a chap called Steve. He had a falling out with Beryl one game, and after that the Stewarding was done by a young lady (sorry I can't remember her name). I remember an old chap called Reg who used to travel to games with the first team back in the 1950s.

I expect a few of the older coach one regulars from my time have passed on now (obviously Beryl, RIP) , as have two of the friends I used to go with (brothers Dave and Ian Cottle, RIP, both passing at early ages).

Coach one regulars were a bit special (and clearly still are if this thread is to be believeed :) ), but don't diss them too much, they are probably more Bristol City than you (and me)!

Sit where you like lad, I went on coach 1 to Watford many years ago and told one of the regulars who was very rude in explaining the situation to eff off. Must have had at least 30 Pairs of eyes staring at the back of my head all the way home. Can’t remember if it was 1-1 or a 2-1 defeat. I know James was in goal and got lobbed my mark yeates that game come back off the bar and someone tucked a rebound in

With 2 non-regular posters now confirmed, the question is : which of the coach 1 regulars are not going and why??

They need the sacrifice to appease their gods

They don't have coaches they have hourse drawn carriages, that why when they lose they have something to take their frustration out on, and it protects the police horse

I used to go on coach 2 with Jerry as steward for years and it was always good fun. One memory I do have though which ties in with Saturday`s match is travelling to Blackpool on it two days after I`d had an, ahem, `minor operation` and that was bloody uncomfortable.

Coach seats weren`t as comfy back then I can tell you!
