Don’t understand why the bloke gets so much stick. Was exceptional when he first arrived and kept us up.

Undermined management at every chance and selfishly changed the culture of the club within ie previous no phones in the canteen rule which players before put in to encourage socialising, he wanted changed, think Wilbs spoke about it on a podcast.

I have to agree with this. I'm sure there will more stuff to follow about the proximity of BK, KFC and Dominoes to the ground etc, etc, and others mentioning mental health etc, etc.

However, stood behind the goal at Fulham when that last gasp free kick went in was a truly amazing moment in my 47 years of supporting City. I also spent the night in the area drinking with Fulham fans looking smug all night. Great day!

Rumour has it our favourite love to hate player is set to sign for League 2 Walsall.

I can only assume he’s completely out of shape to be signing there? In league two he could be amazing… or a career ending car crash… watch this space!

Could also be the fact he's 33 now mind.

Spot on! He certainly was not the model professional. Loved him whilst on loan but once he signed he couldn’t be arsed. The Burton penalty was the icing on the cake for me

Because he’s clearly a toxic character who was hugely disruptive to our dressing room. Sure, he has problems - but doesn’t mean he’s exempt from being a good person.

Yep, great day. So many City around we struggled to get in a local pub to watch the Rugby.
On his day, when he could be bothered, great player .

Most of the time, he looked like me in a City shirt

That is true, all singing ‘sign him on’ last home game end of his loan…then he morphed into something else…. His history at all the clubs he landed at says it all. From brilliant  start to then a non event and waste. A waste of a talent, waste of a wage, and became a waste of time.  He himself admits he has demons…   So, the cycle continues and will be an interesting watch.
I will always remember that goal against Huddersfield home, and the free kick at Fulham…. I thought he would end up back at Peterborough for the third or fourth time

Can’t remember what game it was but he brought the ball down kicked it over himself turned and volleyed I think to score …that was some skill . Shame his commitment wasn’t there as he could have been some player for us .

Is this the one, 1:50 in. ?

Brilliant goal, and in an interview he said he did it in training and told someone he would do it.

Agreed- fantastic footballer and on his day the most talented player we have had in our championship years since we got promoted.

Can remember one outstanding piece of skill can’t remember who against maybe Sheffield Wednesday. Right in front of the Dolman touch line, the ball was played to him from our fullback and with their left back running into press him, Tomlin flicked the ball over the onrushing players head with the outside of his foot and was away.

Sublime to the ridiculous at times though as I also remember that atrocious penalty infront of the atyeo.

Clearly very talented but also flawed.

One of LJs first , and IMO , one of his, if not his biggest ,  major mistake in his tenure.

Eddie Howe wanted rid asap and the reasons weren’t hidden , but Lee believed he could be ‘the one’ to manage Tomlin (The very same as he believed he was ‘the one’ to get the best out of Kasey Palmer , when others more experienced , such as Tony Mowbray had failed and given up)

( Two prime examples of LJs ‘over confidence in himself’ and bet LJ looks back on it as a mistake )

Tomlin undermined LJ and failing to act decisively and get rid that undermining of a HC / manager can quickly fester and spread, it won’t have helped LJ with the rest of the squad

Shouod never have signed him permanently and should of got rid as soon as he demonstrated his normal behaviour & traits

It was so obvious too. When he walked up I turned my back and my daughter said "what are you doing?"  I said, "Just tell me how far he misses it by. I can't watch the bastard do it".

Sheff Wed away was it when we had a pen to go 3-1 up maybe?  Tomlin missed it, hit the bar, O’Neill dived in and got sent off, we lost 3-2!

Yeah, hit the post, right in front of me. Not sure if that was on purpose but the one home to burton when he skied it definitely was.

Tammy that night away to Wednesday. One of the best individual performances I’ve seen in 30 years of watching city

Just remembered it could have been 3-1 against 10 men, but within a minute it was 2-1 10v10!  Crazy

It was a home match where he skied a pen in front of the Atyeo I believe?

there was a picture of him training with Walsall recently, looked an absolute barrel, completely out of shape now, but sure there is magic in those boots occasionally.

agree with all the above comments, gave me some of my best moments watching city and kept us up, but after signing was a total waster and crippled the club in more ways then one...

Not so sure on that..yes it is popular 'opinion' and I also bought into that once, but seeing it again on this thread does make me wonder whether he  just intended to make a hole in the net by hitting it as hard as he could.. his team mates would have said something about that if missing it on purpose was true...

Add the fact that he was a disruptive element in the dressing room too and you've summed him up perfectly.

Absolutely spot on.

Fat bastard.

”sub me and I’ll deck you”....is it true he said this towards Johnson for home fans to hear at Huddersfield? I can believe it.

He didn’t look over at LJ and “smiled” - you made that up - my ST at the time was behind the home bench in the Lansdown Stand - it was an horrendous penalty but he didn’t look over at LJ and “smiled” ... why make that stuff up?! And you know he “missed it on purpose”?

I was sat near you then. I was just to the left of the away bench.  About a minute after the penalty he was smiling at LJ. Guess you weren’t looking at him at that time. Quite a few people saw it and reacted

Wow looks like the golfer Charley Hull is his latest girlfriend, no wonder he's been on a bit of a fitness regine recentley.

As she is married to a MMA fighter he might need more than "a bit of a fitness regime"

Half listening to BBC WM on saturday and trying to get the commentary of the City v Birmingham game

The walsall commentator said Tomlin looked very lively.

I await events with Tomlin in the the coming weeks and months.

He bloody should look lively. Talent wise he’s a Championship footballer playing at the bottom of league 2. We know he turns it on when he has a point to prove
