I'll be interested in the one about the Memorial Stadium, particularly how they cover the change in ownership shenanigans whereby the fewers ended up owning a stadium they contributed virtually nothing towards. You've wisely used the phrase sporting venue rather than stadium as the wreck is basically a cowfield with some scaffolding.

Rovers are the lovable family club, every non Bristolian’s favourite underdog. No way did they ever fleece the rugby club, treat them like shit and force them out of the ground they owned & then stole (50% of) from them.

The narrative will be that they "saved" the rugby club by ensuring sport could continue at the ground. Everybody knows they stole the ground - even their fans if they're honest.

(Corrugated iron monstrosity that was the former home of Oxford United. Refer to older relatives for details).

Not just half the ground, the other so called legit half portion was bought for £2m, which the rugby club saw none of. That £2m was for a 50% share in the Memorial stadium Company that owned real estate that Dunford stated was worth £6m, so, a good deal for Rovers and the rugby club, were words used. I can't seem to find the quotes of the time in the Bristol Post archives.
