FIFA 2023 Women's World Cup

Got asked last night why have the Men's team not even made a World Cup final since 1966. Yet the Women have.

I don't think neutrals understand how hard it is to win a World Cup in the Men's game. I think these kind of comments are doing the Women's game a disservice by comparing it to Men.

Their achievement is their own achievement and in no way a fair and direct comparison can be made to what the Men have done/do.

Strange choice to be wearing the change kit

Just realised Spain are classed as the "home" team and they wear blue shorts, so that would have clashed

As above, perhaps an good omen with us wearing our change strip?

Denver, hoping somewhere opens early…. Very early

I'll be watching at home in Arvada CO. You're welcome to join or we could meet up if we can find a place that will open early. I have a few ideas of who may be showing it. I'll make some calls today. PM me if interested

Don't expect the Spanish Manager will be far behind after Sunday

Jorge Vilda's father has a senior role within the Spanish football federation. Despite the allegations against him, and the fact that 15 players collectively said last year they refused to play for him again unless changes were made (some did begrudgingly return), he probably won't go unless he quits.

There's plenty of online articles which explain that issue further, but for now I'll post a link to this one written by someone I know

3rd & 4th place playoff (pointless game IMO) , is it just me or does it feel like if the Ref is asked to take a look at something they feel obliged to give the decision.
Little bit of a harsh decision, bit unlucky , we definitely wouldn't have got it , but Sweden Pen & 1-0.

Really disappointing to hear that prince William isn’t going to be in attendance tomorrow  especially considering his role within the FA- imagine if the men had been in a similar position he would have been

Exactly. He’s done a small video message, it’s literally the least he could have done. The excuse appears to be that he thinks it’s a long way to fly for a short time. And that’s laudable. Or it would be if he didn’t have the opportunity - with the appropriate security - to catch one of the many scheduled flights.

If you want to know if something is sexist, just flip the sex in the question. He can’t be arsed. Pure and simple.

That bench could start for many other nations. We have strength and the ability to change our gameplan on the fly. In Sarina we trust.

I feel confident that the girls will bring the World Cup back home and remind us all how it's done.

Here at Sports Bar at Ashton Gate. Showing the ITV coverage with their presenters back in the studio in the UK, whereas I assume BBC's are in Australia...
