Interesting b&w photo of AG at the start. Adverts for Courage and Bristol cigarettes, so sometime in the 1960's.

Their prediction made me laugh out loud! Cracking Up Lol GIF by HULU

They do seem to be reasonable apart from the Watford to win 8-3 forecast. Sum of their comments reflect this forum - eg

“Bristol City have to be one of the worst performing teams ever in World Football relative to the location they purport to represent.”

“Yes thy also have the Rovers who are managed by another nut@er who spends as much time in the justice system as he does in opposition boardrooms”

This lot are utter sh!te. Should be a comfortable win but we'll end up scraping it 2-1.

They have obviously been watching us...

On paper we should get battered, but as we all know football is played on grass not paper so therefore we definitely will get battered.

I seem to remember Watford fans were also quite reasonable on their forum before we last played them, by reasonable I mean most of them thought that we’d be no pushover and were better than our recent form going into that game.

Anyway they won 6-0

The Duckmoor Road flats were completed in 1962 and the Western Terrace was demolished circa 1967, so sometime between those dates.

It's a league fixture - so we absolutely should not get battered! (of course this happens sometimes)

They aren't one of those teams that are simply roo good for this division. They are 5th. They have lost to several teams we'd class as our piers this season - a home battering would be utterly unacceptable - but I think it speaks volumes that plenty of are half expecting it to happen..

I agree.   A battering would be completely unacceptable. What I don’t agree with is that plenty are expecting it.  Seem to be quite a few on here who are hoping for it mind.

Given what happened the last time we played them they've reason to be confident.

The more confident the better, as football rarely goes to plan.

Here's hoping for lots more they're utter shite comments.

Sad to say but getting battered might speed up the departure of NP.

If you’re thinking “I’m sure Fevs said he was a CB and therefore he must be one of the taller ones”…you’d be wrong! ?

A new low , even for OTIB

It's crap but at least he's being honest about it. There are plenty who deny they want us to lose but will be on here later revelling if it does happen.

Obviously if we get a good result they'll forget how to log in, but such is life.

Yep, I was a short arse at school.  Was still good in the air though, which helped when I finally grew!!!

I’ve long had a theory that short arses are generally better in the air because they have to learn the technique of how to jump.

Compare, for example, Tommy Doherty who could outjump far taller opponents. With good old Wayne Allison (who I loved) who had a technique whereby he managed to leave the ground but without getting his head any higher than when he was standing!

I subscribe to that too.

Geoff Merrick is the perfect example of what you say. I’d forgotten how short he was until he came on the pitch for one of the reunions. He didn’t look much taller than Dasilva, and at least 2 inches of his height was his cap

Joe Bryan had a good leap too.

Woodcock shield I’m guessing.

I played at AG in the 1982 final for Hartcliffe v Brislington. Lost 3-1?.

Beat them easily in the league, but turfing them out of the home dressing room seemed to aid their motivation on the day. ?

Yep, think we were one of the first years after they moved away from AG / Eastville.  We played at Bristol Manor Farm v Portway School (was virtually a home game for them).  We won 2-0 comfortably.

No defeat , no ‘getting battered’ ,

Never mind , you will be able to drown your sorrows with cheap s**t Aussie lager

Enjoy the fact that he probably won’t be on here for 3 weeks. Then he’ll come back with a reference to “sticks” Ritchie, which probably shows when he last set foot in Ashton Gate.
