When they let someone who doesn't go to football have access to the DJ booth (probably) - no idea is the honest answer. What surprises me most, is that it's continued - you would expect that most people in stadiums for national games have a club side they follow and care about with a passion and I don't think I've ever met a genuine football fan who likes the song. But somehow it has crept into the national game and the game seems slow to try and rid itself of it.

Was that not the same final where some suit wanted the City Cat (as was) to collect the trophy, should we win it? Whilst it might not have been the World Cup, if you're a footballer and have earned the right to compete in any final at the most famous stadium in the world, and have amongst your peers been named captain, lifting a trophy there would be a career highlight - to have that stolen from you by someone in fancy dress would have been dreadful.

Take a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels with you?, Then again, maybe not? Sure fire way to get arrested. Alcohol can only be consumed in permitted areas (eg hotel bars) On 14/11/2022 at 21:04, ScottishRed said: Never been to Qatar but in Dubai this is standard practice in hotels that can sell alcohol and is extremely popular but is usually a weekend thing. Obviously a different country and not during a major sporting event so the rules could be very different for either or both, of these reasons. Same in Qatar. At current FX rates that's between £11 and £12 per can. It might be possible to buy alcohol more cheaply in hotel bars; hopefully that will be the case, and hopefully it won't be Budweiser. I'll find out in a few days. Or you could just not drink?

I was just responding to some earlier posts asking about the availability and / or pricing of alcohol. If Budweiser is the only choice and if it's going to cost £12, I'll happily go without. AppyDAZE
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-europe-63655870 Loved watching this today. Fair play to Danish TV. "Mister, you invited the whole world" "You want to break the camera, ok go and break the camera" Seems like a guy with a lot of balls. I like. Maybe it's just me, but it's being played to death, have DJ's got shares in Neil Diamond's estate? Every sporting event, even the cricket in Australia, every act on the stage in our fan zone, any bloody excuse it's on. It used to be Three Lions, but I could take that partly because at least the song is relevant to football. Is it just me? Dah dah dahh!
