LondonBristolian
5 hours ago, GrahamC said: That’s true but even though I speak as a fan of Martin, he never had any to start with. Never forget the goal in the 5-0 v Hull, when he ran from almost the halfway line, the defender “chasing” him must have had the speed of a traction engine. Brilliant holding the ball up & a decent finisher though. Yeah - others may disagree but I feel Martin's fundamental problem this season isn't that he's suddenly much worse than last season. It's more that - in addition to competing with Weimann and Semenyo, we're getting the best out of Wells, Bell and Conway have made huge strides and the emergence of the latter three plus signing of Sykes was meant we've changed how the team plays to suit them and that means Martin was competing with a higher standard of player and didn't quite fit the team when he did play. Throw in the signings of Cornick and Mehmeti and he was suddenly our eighth best forward, at least in terms of the system we play. I certainly think a League One club will sign him and be very glad they did so.

Ok, his strengths didn’t always align to what we’re trying to build now but I could never fault his effort.
ciderwithtommy
QPR - my word his agent needs a knighthood! Great guy and great servant, but really looked like his legs had gone, fair play to all involved but thought he was heading to league 1/2. Mr Popodopolous
Good luck to him except against us obviously. Decent move for him that.
BUTOR
Great move for him and he will play as QPR are desperate for a striker. With all our young talent he was nowhere near the eleven and rightly so, however well this move goes not one to regret. Good outcomes for everyone
pongo88
He must have signed for a relatively low salary so it’s not much of a risk for QPR. Even if he isn’t a regular starter he can still add something. I’m not sure what the something will be, but QPR seem to have low ambitions Edited February 6, 2023 by pongo88

He'll have his uses subject to tactics at this stage of his career IMO.

Rossi the Robin
I’ve always rated him. We played him a lot without really playing his style of football. He did really well for us considering His form seemed to drop since the birth of his child which isn’t a surprise
LocoPal
Was about to comment, that if you stop at the motorway services, you might see ex-canaries, Chris Martin & Timm Klose, supping a coffee and looking a bit lost & very sad for themselves, as they've no team to play for this weekend. But now, Chris has just got himself a job at QPR! Edited February 6, 2023 by LocoPal

Daniro
Pleased to see Chris Martin score for his new club yesterday. Thought he was a real trooper for us in difficult times - always gave his all. Was definitely time to move him on, but the QPR fans were very disrespectful and he's showed them what he's capable of. Watching the highlights of the game - they lost to Millwall - QPR remind me of how we were not so long ago - terrible lack of concentration leading to conceding soft goals.
