Open End Numb Legs
Weird wasn't it? Everton were always going to press all they could, sitting back was never going to be allowed to work. Spurs should have cleared their lines and played on the break, shouldn't need an elite coach to point that out.
RoystonFoote'snephew
Spurs deserved nothing from that game. Conte was right about their attitude. No complaints about either sending off (can't raise your arms or make studs up tackles) or the penalty but Kane's overreaction to the gentle push in the face was embarrassing. Floats like a bee stings like a butterfly comes to mind.
Northern Red
Top bit of Spursing that. Probably just as well Conte has already gone because I think he'd have committed a massacre in the dressing room after that.

Kane got smacked in the face. If he wants to roll around clutching his face then so be it. There are no laws against that. By our standards things are pretty rosy, whereas they’re having a nightmare. Of course they’re bigger and better than we are but they’re in a horrible moment. Personally I agree it's a red, but I don't agree with Kanes reaction to get a player sent off, it's cheating, everyone knows it, the question is whether you think it's justified and would you be happy if a City player did the same? Doubtful Rooney (England captain, club captain & striker) would have gone down like that. Shearer definitely would not have. I would be very keen to hear Shearer's opinion on the incident. Kane probably feeling very stupid this morning if he has seen the replay. Edited April 4, 2023 by The Gasbuster

Seventeen
Can not believe the reaction people have had to what Kane done! Yet it's not good but EVERYONE does it. If it was the other way round Everton fans would be loving it. It was also a clear red, not as if he dived and deceived the referee. Not sure why Kane gets so much stick from English fans. Probably because we are quick to slate foreign players for doing it. I do agree about Everton fans as they had years of Richarlison doing it.

handsofclay
The problem is if a big show isn't made of any transgressions they tend not to get acted upon. Same with penalties, if a player is clipped in the box and tries to stay on his feet a penalty isn't given. In fact VAR don't even look at it. But if at the slightest touch the player goes down, then if the ref doesn't give it at least VAR looks at it, sees there was contact and the pen is given. During the World Cup when Maguire, iirc, was rugby tackled to the ground in the box he got up and apart from a look at the ref did little to highlight it. VAR didn't even look at it yet it was a nailed on penalty! But pound to a penny, had Maguire stayed down clutching various parts of his anatomy and other England players confronted the culprit and made a show of the incident, VAR would definitely have looked at it and given a penalty. I see on here plenty of times posters complaining about City or England players not being savvy enough in getting decisions go our way. When, God forbid, an England player does just that, then he gets unjustified stick. Well done Harry Kane, more power to your elbow. After all, he wasn't at fault, all he did was ensure the Everton player who did transgress the rules got the correct punishment for it.
Tinmans Love Child
I'm not saying that I want to go back to the days of Vinnie Jones type tackles as they are reckless, but I would love to return to the days when players took it all as part of the game and actively didn't react to bad challenges or even not so bad challenges in the case of Kane last night, note the tackle on Cantona is criminal but Cantona is up quicker than Vinnie Jones! This would not happen now Edited April 4, 2023 by Tinmans Love Child
